  • great training !

  • Seems verry good, remains of the days!

  • please explain briefly why you strike your thighs at the end of the cut in your ikkyo undo.

  • To show and let me see the weight underside.

  • By simply observing the physical movements, one might be misled... But I really enjoy watching you integrate Tohei sensei's Ki principles into your brand of teaching. Martial arts' movements become over dogma'd in my opinion, but the core principles should remain the same. I look forward to your next video's, and hope that I can participate in a class in the future! Domo Arigato Gozaimashita!

  • Thank you kindly jprof. Please join us anytime. Peace!

  • Robert, what group is this? Are they Seidokan because they look well versed in the aiki taisos. Is this a local group? Don't recognize any of them. Their basics of aiki taisos look very solid. Very impressive to see!

  • Marc and I trained these guys on and of over the years. I am going to start teaching them on Mon, Wed, Fri from 5:45 to 8pm at Sports Zone. They asked me to please come and train them and keep them going. Marc will come in a teach and train when he can. I will e-mail you with the solid times and the address as I will get them By Monday I am sure. It was great to have my old guys back! Thanks for the comment Boaz Sensei. Talk to you soon bro. Peace!

  • After watching it and thinking about it I figured they must be students of yours and Marc's. You can tell by how well they do their aiki taisos. I'd like to work out with some of these cats - I imagine their ukemi is very solid coming from Tolbert. I'll be back in town on Wednesday at PMA if you wanna come over and work out with us. Class starts at 7:30pm.

  • Cool. I will keep that in Mind and let them know when and where. Yeah and they do have GREAT Ukemi bro that is for sure! More video to come soon. Have a great week my friend. Peace!

  • looks like you got a few more students. good job. i will send you a new vid i think you will like. 5 stars

  • Thanks Jason. Take care bro! Peace:)

  • I've been struggling getting all the intricacies to this exercise down for months... and I'm a LOOONG way from "good." But, it on the drop, it sounded like a few were hitting pretty hard. In your class, do you actually pull down with your arms, or just drop your weight and let your arms follow? How would you describe it?

  • Its all in weight underside. we do not pull the arms down at all. We allow them to drop. And the Sinking of the hips. Think sinking hip power with weight underside. When we drop our center we allow the Ki we were extending on the Shomenuchi to come back to the center and sink the hips at the same moment. Getting all parts to work at the same time can be a bit hard. But once you have it , It is yours. Please let me know if you need any other pointers. My best to you and your Sensei & Dojo. Peace!

  • Sensei, could you, in a few lines, explain the breathing relating to the arm movements, please? I suppose you keep one point throughout the entire exercise but do you breath out when the arms come down all the time? What about the side-to-side version of the movement around 3:20? Thank you so much, I sincerely enjoy your videos.

  • Inhale as the arms raise and extend Ki Strongly. Exhale as you bring your arms up into Shomenuchi undo and sink your and keep your weight underside. Relax completely at the end of each Shomenuchi ikkyo undo.

As for the other inhale as you start the turn and exhale as you return to center. I hope that helps. Peace!

  • Congratulations. Is good to have people that care to teach real martial arts. GOOD LUCK!

  • Thank you kindly monkeywise for your kind words. My best to you and yours. Peace!

  • A good looking class. Well done Sir.

  • Thanks brutus0199 :) Have a great day. Peace!

  • Cool is it just me or are you getting more students !

  • Yes. Most of these guys are old students of mine but one of them. I will be teaching at two Dojo starting this next week. Peace!
