ladies NEVER perm your hair, chances are it will turn out horrible and will heavily damage your hair, there are a lot of great products out there that can create volume and can help your hair hold a curl with the help of a curling iron

My hair is naturally tightly curled around my face, but either straight or wavy everywhere else, I got a perm to just even it out and I loved it, I had more of a wave that looks like I had just taken out braids, I loved the beachy feel of it.

i got a perm and it was way way to tight i didnt like it and my mom payed 65 dollars for it and so got mad when i told her i didnt like it. and it has been 2 years and i still have it i have cut it but it is still there. and now to is just poofy. i have to strating it every day and befor i didnt have to. i had board staight hair and it didnt hold curl even with a lot of hair spray. so i am mad it wont go away!!!!!

Depending on the perm, it can look very pretty on some people. And/or some people are tired of their naturally straight limp hair, or their uneven curl/wave. That's why.
