  • Hi, thanks for the comments. There are a lot of great books on hardscaping, landscaping, and water management and the building code also outlines basic prescriptive requirements, so they are good places to start. You determine where the water drains by grading. In this case the gravel supports the non perforated pipe to keep even pitch, but in the case of a perforated system, a field of gravel wrapped in landscape fabric is the underground drain field. I wanted this to drain to daylight.

  • god so much to learn. Thanks for the straight forward look at setting the drainage up. How did you figure the water would collect at that corner? Didn't know The pipes needed gravel. Oh, so I'm trying to learn about putting in sprinkler systems, pavers, and drainage. I wasn't sure which I should worry about first. I'm trying to knock out each project one at a time but not sure if they need to be done together. Thx again for the vid!
