  • An example of how jimi Hendrix played, drugs made him not talent

  • Happy Birthday!!

  • One of the most underrated guitarists out there. Definitely in my top 10 favorites. And not just because of the solo shredding in YOU SHOOK ME. =)

  • what guitar?

  • @MatKiller1197 killer made in japan

  • Sugoi! >..<

  • salam etten 2 vband

  • holy shit O.O

  • This was good the first time around... when he was called Eddie Van Halen......

  • @Novaheart1998 .... You think this guy sounds like Eddie? Maybe one of his influences, but there are CLEAR distinctions between the two styles. And I could counter with the assertion that what Eddie did sounded great the first time around when Randy Rhoads did it. Or Jimmy Page. Or Eric Clapton. Or Ritchie Blackmore. Or Frank Zappa. Or John Sykes.

  • what someone's talkin shit about akira? sounds like someone needs to wash their mouth out with some fuckin buckshot

  • 外国の方の意見が多いですな、それだけ、世界から支持されている証拠かな、当然中には、批判的な意見もあるでしょうが、ほとんど、外国の意見ですね!

  • Akira started making records in 1980 or so. A true chameleon, you can hear all the late 70s, 80s guys in his playing (Gary Moore!!!) but he always put his own attack and attitude to his playing. In the 90s Loudness went through a grunge period (sort of) where Akira played some really sick wah wah stuff. He will always be one of my top 6 or 7 favorite players.

  • 0:45 till 1:00 somehow compares to master of puppets...metallicalistic...

  • The best of the best!!!!!!!!!!

  • akira is the man

  • GOOD !! BUT I PREFER ZAKK WYLDE...!! ZAKK IS THE BOSS!!

  • what a shitload of noise serious.

  • made in Japan!!

  • good ! but i prefer eddie van halen.

  • Forgot to say....Even at 50 years old he Bitch Slaps most everyone out there.......

  • Gotta say....Love the George Clinton Dread Lock metal wigs he wears now....think it will catch on....Go Akira.....Always Awesome......Never stop playing.....

  • Bad ass solo,,loudness rocks,,,malmsteen is still the greatest lead guitarist.though...my opinion...916..

  • @hotrd91614 only a moron who thinks that akira is bad, u better think what u will have to say before u insult someone, i like malmsteen, but as a guitar player i admit that akira is still a greatest player...

  • Kind of refreshing to hear that 80's guitar style when all you hear nowadays in metal music is necrophagist rip off shredding.

  • some stupid people dislike akira and loudness just because they're japanese...that sucks ball all the time!! go fuck yourselves you fucking racists!!!

    AKIRA & LOUDNESS RULES!!!!

  • you got to understand ,akira started playing when alot of american guitarists were in that time zone of eddie van halen, george lynch and others were at the top of their game.he pretty much hung in there with the best.i bought the first loudness album(cassette).i give him credit.he was like the hideki matsui of baseball.lets not stereotype him because hes japenese,he is an influence of mine .its the soul if his style that inspired me

  • every body know what type of genre did loudness play? because their new album somewhat feel like a trash metal song while my friends told me that they play hair metal.

  • How can you possibly hate on a band that has a PLACE in rock history? The extreme precision and the god-like riffs that Akira brought for 25 fucking years puts him in legendary status.

A noob? Are you serious? I guarantee us average folks will just consume resources on this planet, shit, and burnout while legends like Loudness will slowly fade away.

I am not even a fan of Japan as a S.Korean, but you've got a serious case of inferior complex if you don't recognize and respect this talent.

  • Dudes!!!! Akira is F(*&ing amazing, its just that most of this is him improvising and i guess he just aint as good as that as he is at writing bitchin, kick ass solos back in like 83 when most of you douches calling him a 'noob' and so on, were still itches in the the postmans crotch!!!!! listen to what he does at about the 4 minuet mark... WOAD WACER!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!!!! Wock On!!!!

  • Akira Rocks!! An awesome solo by a true 80's trailblazer.

  • what the fuck!!! noob!

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Somehow it looks like he has no teeth. Oo

I love the LEDs in the guitar. When i ever have to refret my SG, maby i put them in my guitar to. ^^

  • NO offense, but in this video, he's just 'playing' for public, and I can't see the "musical genius" in this.

  • he's one of PAUL GILBERT's influences, he said.

  • sounds like a 10 chickens and 10 cats fighting, i'll admit there is a huge amount of skill and technique involved in the way Akira plays but this is all scales played at light speed. Wheres the feel? Wheres the emotion? He sounds just like Eddie Van Halen.

  • @liambarker12 what's wrong with sounding like eddie? emotional solos can be found in actual songs, this is akira catering to his audience, they want to see him shred, they want to be blown away by light speed technique.

  • wannabe paul guilbert / eddie van halen

  • A neaterdal survived....

  • jimi hendrix, jimmy page, richie blackmore, yngwie malmsteen, glenn tipton, michael schenker, eddy van halen, steve vai, joe satriani, akira takasaki...all great guitarist

  • I gotta say that was pretty weak for Akira, he's capable of throwing down faster and cleaner runs than Malmsteen. That intro riff to 'Like Hell' just kills.

  • @pizzacrime No, he doesn't. Only Eddie does Eddie. And I'm a Akira fan.

  • always loved his solos

  • I love the tone...

  • MAN he still can RIP the ASS of a GUITAR! LOVE HIM! The 80s Rocked Cuz of Akira!

  • I saw this and pulled out birthday eve and law of the devils land. awesome metal.

  • OMG - I LOVE Loudness! I was just a kid when Loudness toured the states and my MOM (yes, my mother...I was so pissed cause I couldn't go) went to see them...but she was going to see Loverboy and they opened for them. That was an interesting concert to say the least.

  • In japan i like akira in Thai land I like PoP the sun

  • Mastery of the Guitar.

  • Paul gilbert loves this man so what do you have to say now. One of the most brilliant guitarists in the world loves this dude think about it.

  • やはり、高崎晃さんは、大明神?神だと思うこの頃です。布袋さんも届いていない気がする。

    凄いな!!

  • EVH nut swinger .... weak!

move on nothing inspiring to see here ...

  • Greatest guitarist in the history, Akira Takasaki!!

  • OMG

  • Might as well be watching Zakk Wylde, not much of a difference

  • I have 3 Loudness LPs . Anyone can look back about the best guitar players in the world, and Akira is at top 3.

  • Akira Takasaki was one of my first guitar heroes, now I just hope he´s alive, if he still lives in Japan. The devastation is beyond human understanding. I am so sad.

  • All the haters need to consider that these licks were all written/recorded in 1982. Compared to anything at the time Takasaki was a pretty interesting player. Also, where is your band playing this weekend? How many records have you sold? Do you own a guitar company? Do you have an endorsement deal with the most legendary amp manufacturer in history? If you're honest with yourself you will realize that you are a turd compared to Akira. Now get back to mom's basement, hide behind your keyboard, a

  • @marshallmadman I agree with you dude people like to talk shit and they cant even play a pentatonic scale!

  • @marshallmadman The man is a Weapon of Shred. I agree totally.

  • @marshallmadman Ey take it easy buddy I totally agree with you, actually is kind of difficult to play Loudness, Akira is a very special player

  • @marshallmadman First off, I'm a shitty guitar player, and I'd love to be able to play as fast as this guy. There is no doubt that he is talented. BUT nothing you say can ever make this sound good. I mean what the hell is going on? It's just chaos.. And not in a good way.

  • @marshallmadman

    hahahaha classic!

  • @marshallmadman .... It is not just Akira. Read some posts on an Yngwie video. People bash him unfairly too (when they could not hold a candle to his playing ability). I am starting to wonder if some of us just have a hard time accepting that the best guitarists in the world might come from, well the world and not just the US. LOL, I had someone try to tell me Vai is overrated. That's like calling a filet mignon a McBurger. Boo-urns.

  • dude this guy really sucks. he has no phrasing what so ever. just jumbled notes.. he acts like hes playing a petrucci solo but its nothing more then repetition and some whammy bar.

  • Akira is Awesome!! Thanks for posting this... Whats up with the crazy comments?!

  • That sounded like butt.

  • @theawakener7 - By don't get, I mean I don't like it. If you do great.

  • You might wana try calling someone a "Poopy pants" next time. Thats a little more to your level.

  • @theawakener7 Haha now you show your an uncivilized moron. Thank You for owning yourself. You make this all too easy. Gary Moore rolls over in his grave at the fact that you try to even utter his name. Such a disgrace. "NO FUCK OFF" So you dont want me too? Okay calm down poor child everything will be okay. Well If you were rocking longer than me your brain must have rotted severely sense the time you were born, subtracted by the time I was. So all in all thats no misfortune.

  • Not to mention people who compare guitarist are complete, & utter tools to their own failed logic. Then again most of these people dont actually understand art, & instead only follow technicality held up by their own bitterness. Which really is a sad thing. Then again the world is a sad thing. People & their "racism, & religion" really have ruined parts of this world. Then again its scientifically proven racism is a form of mental retardation. I wouldn't expect you to know anything about that.

  • Comment removed

  • @theawakener7 Lmao a prick? Yet again your arguments are fail. Your comparisons are on a third grade level. I figured you'd like James. You should like American guitarists the best. Sense you base all of your pathetic opinions on nationality. Not actual fact. Americans saved your asses, and beat your asses too. Rudolph Schenker? Hahaha really? I dont mind Rudolph but your comparisons are so poor. Probably like yourself. Take a little bit of "edumacation" it seems like you may need it severely.

  • Plus a comparison of Ritche Blackmoore to Akira Takasaki is about as moronic as a comparison of James Hetfield to Angus Young. Then again its not like im refuting someone whos making intelligent statements.

  • @theawakener7 Blackmoore really? You say this guy has a tiny sound? I have to love how you search for a video of a Japanese guitarist. Pulling out technical points that dont even exist in form of comparison, & creating straw man arguments. I know not all "Englishmen" are bigots like yourself, & read the 10 commandments? Well now I know your just a bumbling moron you believe in fairy tales. Take your racism, hate, and pathetic arguments to your grave. Get with the 21st century cave dweller.

  • What kind of guitar is that, is that signature guitar, because I want one, I like how it lights up.

  • @MikeyboyMovies Is a Killer KG-PRIME Red Flame LED Limited

  • Comment removed

  • When you think music is all about being better, and just technical ability, you don't understand it at all.

That said I still prefer all the 80's Loudness stuff. Hes just messing around here. I didn't like all the grunge stuff either. Likewise I prefer Blackmores early stuff. Blackmore’s Night I just don't get at all. I like don't like recent EVH studio stuff. When these guys have been playing for so long (30~40 yrs) its hard to be on form all the time. If you like it that should b enough,

  • side link it is fucking him cover acdc

  • ok now you guys are comparein war to gutairist and if i spelled that wrong dont care

not perfect the point is that yes blackmore is a fanomal guitarist akira takasaki is pretty good if you want to genre it to metal like you are now then Randy Rhoads,Yngwie Malmsteen or even metal guitar legend Tony Iommi are better then blackmore and are way ahead of this guy hell if you want an japenese that way better then this look up takayoshi ohmura the catyclsm and bas far as brits and japs go look at the

  • masterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr geniallllllll especyacular !!!

    saludos desde Lima Peru

  • @theawakener7 Now i'm sure your just a bigoted fucktard.

  • @theawakener7 "Opologise", fuck me you can't even write in English. The United States has broke the Geneva conventions in the current war, I guess we all deserve to die! At least let your bigoted logic make sense.

  • @theawakener7 I don't care if your father was there, it doesn't change what I said. It is a proven fact that most Japaneses weren't in favor of the war. Expecting a opposing country to apologizes is pathetic. Also, there is no way to differentiate sarcasm from a flat tone in text.

  • @theawakener7 If you haven't forgiven Japan for WWII then you are a retarded piece of human refuse.

  • (((_{-_-}_))) Akira Takasaki is the Steve Vai of Japan! "whats you talk'n bout" fan since 1984 sparks Nv (peace! its 4:20)

  • the japanes version of Greg Howe! =O

  • We get so little impressed these days, always have to say negative things... Can't we just enjoy the power of the guitar ?

  • dredhead takasaki

  • This isnt bad playing at all anyways. Like I said though its just a random guitar noodle. It doesnt have to be coherent. He showed great speed, and especially for someone his age. Plus the fact that he can play all of this so clean instead of packing it with distortion. It shows great technical skill, and its very accurate. Like I said though this isnt a solo, its just him noodling around.

  • @KabukiMockingbird Its impressive noodling to me.... :3 lol

  • Dont get me wrong though Im a huge Gilbert fan! Love him to death, and ive met him before probably one of the nicest guys out there. Malmsteen on the other hand while ive listen to a lot of his stuff. Like I said shredding only goes so far before it becomes incoherent. Same applies to Michael Angelo Batio. Hey though thats just my opinion what your into is what you into thats what being human is about.

  • I mean personally I find that he is the best guitarist I know of, and I know of quite a few. I play myself, but im not saying what I say is definite like im sure lots of others who say hes the best arent either. If someone is your favorite, and you find a passion in there playing style they are going to be the best to you. I even like the newer Loudness albums when they got heavier. If you want to see a mediocre guitarist look no further than say Kirk Hammet.

  • You have to stop being such an anal asshole though. I mean its basically an intermission in the show, and hes just messing around and shredding. Its not a serious solo done by him in a song. Its just a bunch of scales, and bits from solo's hes done. Listen to pretty much any Loudness album, or any of Akira's solo albums. This man is criminally underrated.

  • @dmb912002 No, I'm pretty sure he put a lot of soul and passion learning how to play like that. @Summitthescale this guy's one of the best guitarists I ever seen:)

  • Dammmmmmm

  • i doubt those who think akira was the best didn't even hear malmsteen or maybe paul gilbert.

so they don't know who is michael angelo batio and jason becker.

  • I like malmsteen and paul gilbert but I still like Akira. You gotta listen loudness studio versions

  • i didn't say that i don't like loudness,i just hate when some people think he is the best guitarist in the world and keep comment about it.

  • @TheFarriesmetalhead

i have alwasy felt this about Yngwie ' GREAT talent.. piss poor composer... im sorry, but Yngwie ahs always been all about " look at me!! im Yngwie!! look what *I* can do !! no soul, no passion, no heart... just a bunch of solos thrown together. and yes i HAVE listened to alot of his work, i grew up around the time he was new and fresh on the scene..

  • @TheFarriesmetalhead Whats the problem with making someone your favorite guitarist and saying there the best? Id say Akira beats both Paul, and Malmsteen. Im speaking in terms of what I find interesting to hear, & whats well put together though. You can only take shredding for so long before it become incoherent. Not to mention as much as I love Paul hes said time after time Akira was an influence of his. Batio is someone I personally dont like. Akiras almost 50 for a 50 year old hes doing great

  • @KabukiMockingbird do you realise how much you wrote, and how little anyone cares?

  • @qwerty123123ify Its nice that someone will at least write out their opinions, and give a thought to them. People dont care, and tend to skip over well thought out things for simple, moronic, trends in todays world. I guess your comment is just affirmation to the point to prove how this generation is dead to progression. Such tiny attention spans, to go with their tiny brains.

  • Sorry but this guy is straight up mediocre.

  • @summitthescale You have to take a historical perspective on this. Akira and Loudness were a huge influence on a young Paul Gilbert and when Akira first came out in 1981 he was a really hot guitar player. His influences were Gary Moore,Michael Schenker, Randy Rhoads, EVH, Rush etc... and it shows so it's kind of unfair to compare him to the guitarists of today.

  • @8tonsemi You are kidding right? This guy an influence to Gilbert? I highly doubt it. There isn't anything significantly impressive in his playing AT ALL.

  • @summitthescale Go listen to the Loudness album "Dillusion" which came out in 1983 and then listen to Racer X's first disc "Street Lethal". You will hear many similar riffs. I would say that the song writing is more influential than the lead playing but it is there. Gilbert has also spoken about it himself that is how he used to listen to Loudness. I gotta admit that Akira can be very derivative but in many ways he was doing speed metal before it was even called that and he always goes for it.

  • @8tonsemi Thanks for telling me that. I listened to dillusion and it is very similar to Racer X, you were right. This is the first video I had ever seen of this guy, and to say the least, it isn't too great. From what I heard from the other tracks it sounds pretty kick ass. Maybe he was having a bad night, but I can see now how he would be an influence to Paul Gilbert.

  • @summitthescale Hey that's great! I'm glad that you listened to it. I think you're right that he's having an off night because this solo really is no big deal. I think when he was younger he had more fire in his belly. When I was a kid I used to listen to them all the time and actually saw them live back in 1985. He came up with some awesome riffs and the band could really play. Enjoy!

  • @summitthescale If you don't like him, then stop commenting about him and stay away from his videos

  • one of many reasons i wanna play guitar is because this man, eddie van halen randy rhoads kirk hammett and others.

  • @code2122 Why would you come to another guitarist's video just to say someones better than him? Either your really bored or you just have no musical mind or respect to realize Akira is a master of his craft. Michael is good too, but not better.

  • lets compare akira with slash, slash is nothing. akira is a god in playing guitar.

  • @dutchbhproduction Every guitarists has their own style of play (:

  • Awesome! "Strangle Head" tapping from his solo album WA is in there!

  • Sounds like a new version of Exploder.

    Akira is the best !

    Thanks for sharing ;)
