  • Either you can draw or you can't.

  • There you go. I asked in another vid if a stylus could work. I can't draw with the tips of me fingers, I NEED a pen or stylus, something that replicates the pen/pencil/marker experience in the "real world".

    g

  • Is there a big difference between using this app on a Ipad 1 and using it on an Ipad 2 ?

  • iPad + Sketchbook PRO = +500$

    Traditional Sketchbook + Pencil = 5$

  • @Dimarelos24 Drawing paper each month, for example bristol board: 50 dollars. My ipad paid itself off in about 6 months, with my not having to buy paint, ink, brushes (typically 50 dollar-ish brushes).

I've been using it non-stop for art creation, and won't be going back to traditional barring a giant emp bomb destroying all of our tech.

  • Wait, is that a stylus?! can i use any screen-friendly stylus or is there a specific one for ipad?

  • @vibrax7795 search in google Bamboo Stylus for iPad

  • @vibrax7795 You can use any stylus designed for a touchscreen, or make your own:

    watch?v=4YE8rGuLCtU

  • Muy bueno!!!

  • so to me it looks like drawing with a sharpie then you can fade it afterwards...

  • @iEQUALinsane There are pencils, brushes, marker tools, etc.. Though, I recommend using Artstudio.

  • this guy is a magician

  • wow i might just have to talk the missus in to getting me one ;)

  • is that raster or vector?

  • i made a drawing on this, turned out pretty well,..

  • can you do this on i phone

  • This app is so hard to use 😓

  • thumbs up if you don't have an ipad but you would like to draw a dog from nothing like that lol

  • wt pen are you using?

  • Every cloth looks cool on beautiful model, skilled artist can draw with lump of coal on the wall :-).

  • This app is amazing, great range of tools and features but if you have any trouble with this app try, sketch club, another great app and great value too.

  • either he is an encredible drawer or we just suck at drawing

  • Thumbs up if you don't have a freakin' iPad. -.-

  • @shotputking10 lol no thumbs there

  • Great video!

  • nice cat xD

  • @TeenGoh4n, it was a gift.

  • I have the iPad 2 and sketchbook pro, it's really easy to use but i really want to get the bamboo stylus too. £25! wacom needs to drop their prices!

  • @monkeyboy0679 quality has its price. especially wacoms quality is enormous so, there is nothing to complain about. btw man you could afford an ipad so there should be the possibility of gettin this pen too

  • my technology teacher uses this for school work. BEST TEACHER EVER.

  • @MegaBugs123 Oiy, practice makes perfect, as they say!

  • Better to spend your money on a decent Wacom tablet for your computer.

  • If Apple works out the responsivness and offers advanced drawing tools, Wacom beware. You might want to think of price reduction on your expensive Cintiq line.

  • @Flatchowder There are already high end PC tablets that do conductive capacitance (allowing for pressure-sensitive line-width manipulation). Wacom has shut down production on many of its product offerings for awhile now, prolly in anticipation of the competition. I asked them if they'd be dropping prices, their response was "no comment."

  • nice dandruff all over ipad brah

  • Can someone tell me how responsive this app is? From the video, it looks like there's something of a delay between moving the stylus, and having the graphics generated.

Not convinced an iPad is suitable for this kind of work, yet. Happy to be corrected though.

  • @w0mblemania

Its resposive, however its not sooo sooo acurate like youd want it to be. Its not an resistive screen, it cant use ur typical small topped stylus. It uses one of those rubbery stylus. However you can get the job done, pretty fast.

  • I want one!

  • What make of stylus is that? I bought one to use with Sketchbook, and it's rubbish! It requires too much pressure to draw freely.

  • thubs up if you dont have an ipad

  • I clicked this video for the kitty :3

  • wow i want! gosh

  • Hi there! Great app, I think so. It's way better than Adobe's Eazel :)) btw, is that Bamboo Stylus for iPad that you are using?

  • I love this app but where do i get the stylus?

  • Comment removed

  • Where did you get your iPad pen from? Please reply

  • @Lunnsix. You can use either a Pen which is called a stylus or you can use your finger. Using the stylus is easier. I believe the guy is using a stylus by Griffin. It's fairly cheap now. Or maybe the make of the stylus is Targus. Enjoy my friend.

  • do i have to buy a special pen? sorry i'm new to ipad...

  • Where I can get the picturo of the guy in front of the tv?

  • Um.. download the clip, play it with vlc and freeze the frame you wanna grab ( as jpg ). This ain't complicated now is it ?

  • wow! me dieron ganas de empezar a dibujar denuevo :D!

  • wich brush are you using on the picture of the guy watching tv?

  • do you use a screen protector? If so, what kind.

  • Impressive, most impressive!

  • Dang, drawing with those styluses is impossible!

  • if only i could draw like that ....

  • Really hope someone makes a wifi enabled pressure sensitive pen or something like that. I have no idea why something like that isn't on the market yet. All you need is the type of pen you have in this video with a pressure sensor inside. Doesn't even have to be that many pressure levels. some are better than none. That being said, got a cintiq 24HD in the mail. NNnnngh! Gonna be broke for months, but hopefully worth it.

  • please put the pen you used in the description. also, will you be making this app for android? im thinking of getting one of those new tablets with the wacom pens...

  • @jomann18 This app is already available for Android. You should check out the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet. It is the only Android/iPad like tablet that has pressure sensitivity built in, and this app is compatible with that function. There are videos of it here on youtube.

  • ?? it works 2 for samsung galaxy tab 10.1

  • i just wana know were did he got that ipad pen.. it looks pretty useful! O.o

  • @JoseOcamposX3 Its a Wacom bambo stylus. It goes for like 30$

  • thumbs up if you got this app, then you started to draw and realized it was actually a lot harder to draw then it looks.

  • @EverythingArt309 and then came the day that you were informed that you needed a drawing stylus, like the pogo stylus, for drawing. They're 14.99 at the apple stores. Then you got one, and lived happily ever after!

  • somebody needs to learn how to hold a camera still...

  • just for the record - Given my comment is rated the most popular.. I've since purchased this for my ipad 2. It is a good app. Fairly responsive. Not the most responsive, but definitely responsive enough to create with. However this video still blows in that the fast playback is extremely unhelpful to gauge app responsiveness.

  • What is the music ?

  • Tell me Ur secrets! I want to be able to do that

  • where did you get that pen?

  • @joppesmurf I’ve seen them at Staples and Best Buy for $15

  • my only gripes...no paint bucket tool for big areas, not too bad tho...

  • love this app. Have it on ipod touch as well as on ipad2 - it totally rocks in terms of what you can do with it. Problem for the ipod/iphone version is only that you need to do a lot of zoom in to have the actual 100% view/work area , so you mostly work on details in zoomed mode. for the ipad you can work naturally as if you have a din a5 sketchbook/physical paper or canvas in hands, feels more easy to work on.

  • would you be able to Open a picture for reference on sketchbook pro?

  • Can you save pictures then put them into apps like pages?

  • thumbs up if you can't make a draw how this

  • how much does it cost?

  • i have to say thats was great art work.. what other have you done iam still learing on my i phone that you keep it up

  • Why why why why x infinity are we almost in 2012 and still no portable tablet with pressure sensitiviy??? im sick of seeing all these new tablets on the market with no pressure sensitivity. Also Wacom take forever due to the lack of competition. So what is wrong here? can someone explain why there is no tablet of a similar size to ipad with pressure sensitivity?

  • @JamesBrett2008 The new Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (Android) is pressure sensitive.

  • U can draw so f**cking good I still think it's fake :)

  • Thumbs up if u went to go get this app after watching this

  • Watching this, is kind of exciting and relaxing at the same time. Thanks.

  • hey does your hand ever make lines when your drawing?

  • When I see a pen that can recognize the pressure sensitivity, I'll buy a tablet

  • @ninjaspion lenovo thinkpad tablet has a pressure sensitive pen

  • @ninjaspion me too.

  • so can i use this as a substitute for cintiq? pls respond :)

  • @mitsune13 Nope.

Sketching and fun, but not professional uses.

  • Such a beautiful pad yet they keep tapping it with their oily, grubby, finger and just another one of those rubber tipped stylus. That drawing would have come out much better, had they used one of 42 STYLUS-R-US ones at beststylusDOTcom. Now they have it together.

  • Sketchbook pro for iOS has a glaring omission: measly export size, just 72p with no way to upscale it. This renders such an otherwise wonderful app to merely a distraction with no use for actual professional work.

I've emailed Autodesk about it but no response or update concerning this matter.

Too bad - but at least there's Brushes for iOS with it's brushes viewer application for the Mac so it will have to do.

  • What is the music in this video ?

  • Thumbs up if you agree below ^^

  • Dude arent you scratching your screen with that pen?

  • @robloxisepicness it won't.that's a special for ipad which have a rubber ball thing at the front of the pen.

  • I LOVE sketchbook and autodesk products, great video btw Try it you JUST might like it!

  • goshhhhh <3<3<3

  • hey whats up! this version or sketcbook pro!! can be installed in ipad 1 wifi???? orjust installed on ipad 2?

  • WHAT'S THE PEEEEN THAT HE'S USING? ouo

  • where can you get the pen that hes using in the video to draw on the ipad? looks like a sweet app too!

  • awesome🐸

  • Be fast and win iPad 2: goo.gl\8ONjl

  • @vry00 I guess you don't remember those "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" commercials from a few years ago. When most people say "PC," they mean something that isn't a Mac. Second, most serious artists I know use a Mac. Third, I never mentioned a single thing about Photoshop; and furthermore, whether you're on a Mac or not, you're probably using Photoshop if you're an artist no matter what, so that's irrelevant.

  • @vry00 Oh, that must be why every artist and designer I've ever worked with uses an iMac.

  • Want an iPad 2? Enter: goo.gl\QyzJ5

  • i want an ipad now :/ but better wait for the retina ipad 3 version instead..

  • the app is really awesome i have already used it in my ipad 2

  • you re an artis bro

  • @orlandomsau Yer a wizard Harry!

  • is it wacom pen you are using?

  • @wintlatt That's a Griffin stylus, but the Wacom Bamboo is really nice too.

  • too pro...

  • not a useful video.. show us some drawing video at 100% speed so we can get a feel of how responsive the app actual is.. stop showing all the drawing action at fast speed

  • @booggerg i have the app and its quite responsive there is a little lag on some users while switching between tools and colors

  • @booggerg This ap is incredible i got to say..

  • @booggerg its good, trust me. works fast and accurate if you have the pen they're using in this. you can also go watch a user review of the app if you need to see it yourself.

  • @booggerg

Not sure if too dumb to know the meaning of "time-lapse" or just trolling. =_=

  • You usin a pogo sketch stylus or what?

  • Question for whoever wants to answer! So i want to get sketchbook pro this christmas, but then i'd have to buy some type of a tablet with it. I could buy an ipad 2($499), or a wacom 12"in ($950) Yes, there is a HUGE price difference in tablets, but which one is better for sketchbook pro, and comes out more realistic.

  • @HeatherFeather141 I would guess the wacom tablet would be better because its more advanced with the computer

  • what knind of stylus pen is that you're using? Any stylus pens you recommend as well?

  • โห.... ตูจาเอาๆ iPad 2

  • increible

  • i so want an ipad2 now!!

  • Does this app work as the desktop version? Or is it missing any feautures??

  • what is the type of art at 0:55 called???

  • should i get the full version of sketchbook even if it's $5?

  • Dude they used your last picture there on there official website!

  • @andyynwa94 this guy is from the company :)

  • @WuzitWorthit Ahh :)

  • can you import drawing to the app?

  • heyy,

    i hope you read this..

    anyway, i have a question..

im saving up for a apple ipad (not apple ipad 2)

uhhm for how much did you buy one? you dont have to awnser it ;p

if you dont wanna can you tell my witch ipad you think is best ?orr most nice?

i hope you read it ....

im not really good at this stuff xd

  • @VeraLynnzie get the iPad 2 mate, I just purhcased a brand new iPad on ebay for £360, you may aswell get the iPad 2 now and get to grips with that since the iPad 3 is coming out early next year, around spring time. If your going to get any I would recommend getting the 16GB Wifi if you plan to upgrade to the iPad 3 as soon as it comes out. If your looking at buying one though, I would definately suggest using eBay.

  • @BarackObarlow thank you ! :)

btw do you now if sketchbook pro already is on the apple ipad 2 ?

if not so were can you get it for your ipad ? :)

  • @VeraLynnzie yes it's already out on the iPad 2, I think it's about £5 on the App Store, $8 in America, hope this helps :D

  • @BarackObarlow thank you very much!!

  • There IS an Android/Honeycomb version of this out there, just so you "I'm getting iPad for this" guys know. Did you really think Autodesk would ignore such a huge market?

Regardless, both IOS and Android/Honeycomb devices handle it pretty well. The only problem is the amazing 1cm precision. All the styluses out for slates have tips the size of standard pencil erasers.

  • @SomeAnonymousDude I was one of those guys. They definately took their precious time though LOL

  • I want an ipad just for this. Because I believe the other apps are...pointless.

  • @Sketchbookpro So should I get ipad instead of cintiq? I mean, ipad is 4 times cheaper than cintiq 12 and who-knows how many times cheaper than cintiq 21. At least in ukraine. Or does cintiq compensate the cost difference anyway?

  • @DemimondXXIII Cintiq compensates for the cost difference. More pressure levels, so better accuracy for painting and drawing. iPad + Bamboo stylus have less than 1024 levels, perhaps in the 512 range. Cintiq I believe has 2048 levels of sensitivity. Plus, Cintiq has waaaay more drawing space than an iPad, so you're able to draw full-sized illustrations on the Cintiq without having to zoom in so much. Get Cintiq if you're serious about making art.

  • that cat

    must be very high.

  • I love your style of drawing!! I wish I had the same amount of talent.

  • nice, but you have to use a stylus...at least I do...could never get used to using my finger to draw...

  • f**kin' future!

I walk with my nokia 5310=(((

  • @Arno1d260690 luck is a bitch isnt it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • what would the best tab be for drawing? anyone?

  • @SketchBookPro what stylus are you using? great video btw!

  • what stylus is that? @sketchbookpro

  • Must be confusing, at first, drawing with such "fat" pen point! =)

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Which stylus is that?

  • I just liked my comment again....

  • that is very cool

  • what kind of stylus are you using?

  • @aimisyafiqah Can't give it exactly, I think it's a Pogo Sketch for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Macbook Pro

  • i wish i had some artistic skill

  • o.o now i want an ipad.....

  • im so happy others think this way.... i would get an ipad just for this!!

  • There is a Sketchbook Express now available for the honeycomb tablet devices. I got it for my Samsung Galaxy 10.1. Its awesome fun

  • @iLineHur yes but ipad has by far the greatest sensitivity to touch. no other os tablet has as much sensitivity to give it that great feel when drawing. (and by tablet you mean tablets not just including sketch tablets right? cuz sketch tablets would obviously beat an ipad in terms of drawing)

  • it doesnt show in the video the rulers and circle templates like it does with sketchbook pro 2011 for pc/mac. Does it comes with it for the Ipad? the circle template and ruler?

  • @EGODINGO32 No. And I have no idea why they would leave that out.

  • okay, looks like i have to buy a
