  • 5:46 is fucked up i saw lmafo all night lol

  • @lopez2224 What was so funny? Do your meds make you think shit like that is funny? Your sense of humor is warped.

  • Our E.V.P.V. team members went here and met with Rick Hays after going threw my dvr session. We caught some evps which one was right before Rick was talking and he hear and repeated. It is a facinating place.

  • I live 11 miles south of Watseka in the small town of Milford. I have heard this story many times. My mom actually visited there with a physic. I hace also heard that Mary took over Lucy's body again when Lucy went into labor the first time so she wouldn't have to feel the pain.

  • The Watseka Theatre in Watseka Illinois has many great concerts; March 26, 2011 Darryl Worley; July 2, 2011 Marty Stuart.

  • Lived in Sheldon, Il and I also heard about this!!!!

  • that's a nice story actually.

  • This is definitely not the model for The Exorcist. The Exorcist was a demonic possession and modeled after a boy in Mount Rainer in the 50's. A couple of the real priests that were at the boy's exorcism served as advisers for William Friedkin and William Peter Blatty.

  • @suthrnbell0105 I was just about to comment on that, you are absolutly correct. I love how documentarys and other shows of the genre love to open with comments and accusations that are completely false lol I love documentaries but I rarely beleive eveything they say because there is always an opposing source out there. The Wonder was here first, but yes the Exorcist was based off the tale of "robbie".

  • @darthneji1992 - Can't believe they said that either! lol There are NO parallels between Watseka Wonder to the Exorcist besides that it's believed to be a possession. Nobody threw up pea soup on anybody nor did an exorcism even take place in this story!! lol

  • I am goin to see the great Marshall Tucker Band on Valentines Day Weekend Saturday Feb 12, 2011 at The Watseka Theatre Watseka IL. Got my tickets.

  • lol, this is called a family latching on and "Replacing" a child with a different one due to grief.

  • whenever i ride past by that house it scares the shit out of me

  • Hey everyone -- It is possible to visit the Roff Home. See the website for the house. Just google the house name. Paranormal investigators and ghosthunting groups have been coming the house for a couple of years now.

  • I grew up in Watseka and spent time in the house when the Looker family owned it. I've heard of many unexplained noises and movements that went on in that house. It always had an off energy to it.

  • im frm mississippi is there anyway that me n my friends can visit the house who do we need 2 talk to please respone...

  • I grew up in Watseka. I believe that this story is true, but I also think parts have been embellished thru the years. I have read the book "Watseka" and the video follows the book very closely. I will purchase the DVD and watch it for entertainment purposes.

  • I am haunted By a young girl I think around 6-8. These young ones can be quite powerful. Mine loves me and attention.. At times she throws a fit sometimes... She died The worst possible way. and she says she Is a princess.

  • The next time you folks do a video remember that little girls in that time period would not have worn such elaborate dresses.

  • There are no ghosts and no horrors that is but for Obama-the Peace Maker!

  • @diiiicck i beg to differ there realy is some weird weird stuff in that house

  • i live in sheldon a few miles away from watseka id love to stay the night in that house

  • I live here in Watseka, you'd have to pay me 10 thousand dollars to stay the night there, it's fucking creepy.

  • A horror documentary called "The Possessed," which goes into detail on the Watseka Wonder story, is now out and available as of May 2009. You can get more information on it at the Roff Home website, which is the site for the home where much of the movie was filmed!

  • i used to live there about a year ago and i've been past and in that house. it's fucking creepy and gives you the chills. i think it may actually be true. i've done research and everything on it and as i can see there is really no explaintion for it.

  • i live there :]

  • my radio station will be doing a live remote there Halloween morning and a sleepover on the 3oth, if anyone cares to join us contact me at AM 1320 wkan

  • I'm sorry....the girl had a mental illness. And the story was later embelished by either the family and/or the townsfolk. The fact that noone who was there spoke about it.....but of course it was passed around in secret (chinese whispers). Sorry people, just a misdiagnosis...not a possesion.

  • "I'm sorry....the girl had a mental illness. And the story was later embelished by either the family and/or the townsfolk...Sorry people, just a misdiagnosis...not a possesion"....Wow, thanks 'Doc'..(rolls eyes)...try actually RESEARCHING the DETAILS before you attempt to present your 'ruling'...you just came off as arrogant and pious.

  • I dunno.. I think I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with BDngr. Not to be a complete skeptic.. But I will say I live near watseka, I've heard plenty about this... and I've heard plenty stories that I'm SURE were imbelished substancially from locals who want a thrill in their lives. The fact that it was "Kept secret" for such a long time is a bit convenient. And no offense... but small town folk tend to get really bored and habitually cling to stories of the supernatural as a pass time.

  • I was born in watseka and lived there till I was 13. I have heard this story since I was a kid. My aunt's uncle Ivan Looker owned and lived in the Roff house for over 30 years.

I'm not sure if he still owns it. As far as she tells me nothing strange ever happened during that time he lived there. It is a spooky place though just a block or so from the little league ballfields.

  • dude my best friends parents are living in watseka and me and my parents worked at a resturant and this is the first time I have heard this. its fucking strange and shocking cuz my best friends cousin lives their and he is my friend as well wow I am shocked

  • omg i love this video i used to live in watseka!!! i've seen that house!! the house in real life is so creppy!!

  • i know what i know. and i believe she is still there. she has storys to tell. and you ask how i would know that? well its due to a gift i have. : ) now you tell me real? or not real

  • haha my grandparents live in watseka, illinois and i have seen that home and have been in it due to my dads friend. My dads friend owns the home and lives there (the roffs old home, where "mary" stayed with them for three months or a little longer. there is a HUGE picture window in the back and it scared the heck out of me. there is also a pool in the back but it is covered up because it was dangerous. I have been in that house and the room were "mary" stayed, alone.

  • i read tht book child possessed and mary roffs life was not a ghood one

  • WOW! ive lived in watseka for 16 years and i finally found a story about what happened there! the book is amazing too!

  • I grew up in the house across the street from the Roff house. I never saw anything but it definitely will send a chill down your spin, like you know something eerie happened there. I love the Watseka Wonder and am glad to have a copy of the story. The house was condemned and was restored a few years back. It wasnt as scary as i remembered it when the house was inhabited. Probably my favorite story of supernatural events.

  • The Lurancy Vennum thing is one of my favorite ghost stories. It was not the model for the Exorcist - a boy in Georgetown was. It was however studied and referred to by psychiatrists of the late 1800s in hopes of understanding multiple personality. Psychiatry had as much to do with spiritualism as medicine back then and people like Wm. James unabashedly investigated claims of spirit visitations (not necessarily believing it really was spirits). Try a search on "survival after death".

  • People in Watseka have known about this legend for some time. It was common knowledge among people my age. (age early 30's) Posession is stuff you don't mess around with. Read the Gospels and see what Jesus had to say about playing around with the supernatural.
