  • so you sequence the sound waves in arrangement view or do you also map to a midi controller? great video thanks

  • you sound is kind of stock give it some charector the drums and shit reminds me of hi-tek but his sounds like only he could make it both the sound and the assemblage.stay up

  • Killah Priest i think Black August. i dont understand why anyone would try to do something already done

  • ableton is dope as hell!!! good work man!

  • Thats very good man! I like it, even in germany :-)

  • DO you think you could transfer some of your knowledge and make some sampling tutorials for garageband?

  • Thank you Bboyspaz real talk!!! I'm a freelance DJ and I want to step my mixtape game up. I use serato scratch live and I'm going to buy Ableton Live Suite and an APC 40. I will continue to look at your tutorials so I can get this thing we called music right!

  • Really need an answer!! Does ableton live come with the drum rack and all of the drum samples or will i need to get suite for that???? I'd really appreciate a response! THanks!

  • @AggBlasters no you'll need to get the suite if you really want all of the greatness that is Ableton Live

  • Good Stuff Homie, We also Use Ableton Suites For Our Film Score Productions, It's The Best, Holla.

  • dude 9th wonder skyzoo and ableton are all the truth thanks for the tutorial

  • What's the original song name?

  • You said that you have the original sample on top and that all you are doing is bringing the pieces you need to the bottom. How do you do it so that it sounds ON time. alot of the time if you do this it may sound off beat. What are you doing to keep it from sounding off???

  • @hecgmusic : take a look at his other videos, it's all about Warping :)

  • thanks for the tutorial!

  • that was pretty sick but i missed the basics of it

  • how did u manage the tempo during tht whole process?

  • dope tutorials keep em comin

  • Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge chief.

  • thanx alot

  • Yo, what up from Tokyo. Really dig your tutorials. Keep it up.

  • ay spaz do u put tht in the drum rack or do u just add the beats to it

  • put some dope drums in impulse and finish what u started foo

  • keep up the good work! youre really doing a good work for the cause!!

  • o shit that was raw how u had ur sample uptop then highlighted ur pieces and dropped em off like dat mann its time to power up the ableton and check this out

  • Same sample used on Killah Priest "Black August".

  • Love that instrumental. You almost got the pitch right.

  • what song do you play over 2:30? i dig it haha

    good shit man

  • thats just another one of my beats. just to pass the time. Thanks

  • @bboyspaz that beat you made is sick

  • @bboyspaz daaamnnn, thats hella sick lol

  • @bboyspaz --> how did u manage the tempo durin tht whole process?

  • Its Not The Exact Way He Chopped Cuz You Have A part That Say Man kind 9th has way to go

  • yo, 9th samples In Mono, In this video its in Stereo, so of course the mankind part would be a lil Canceled out under MONo.. bboyspaz Chopped it right, hes Cool.. You have to notice the Minor details to know what im saying.

  • hey man how are you i´m starting to like ableton and i saw that you´re a fan of 9th wonder and wanted you to do a remake of nigthtime maneveurs as ne did to make to most metallic sample where is the music of george benson big hug and not stop guy helping me a lot hug thanks

  • man that was sick, i just upgradedto live 8 and im real excited bout it now thx to ur vid. all the other ableton vids i seen were like techno music haha. keep em coming

  • what version of ableton live are you using? It looks a million times easier than what I gotta do on Logic

  • Ableton 6. They're up to 8 right now tho. I need to upgrade

  • that's because it is

    try it

  • nicely done man, how long did it take u? can u do nas is like? i believe the sample is already out

  • good shit bro

  • The original song is and Aretha Franklin song, written by Curtis Mayfield. Song name "The Makings of You".

  • you are ill my dude.

  • is ableton easyer than fl studio

  • I wouldn't say its easier. but the results you can get from it will be alot better I would say.

  • Nice find. Wasn't it hard to find the small pieces of sample ?

  • not really. you just REALLY gotta listen closely to your tracks. VERY VERY CLOSE. and you'll be able to find stuff like that. it's all about ear training ya know.

  • holy shit, ahahhah that was wild.. subscibin!

  • fam but u never explained how to take each part from the sample and apply it to a different audio channel

  • OH, i got it thanks!

  • What program are you using?

  • He's using Ableton live

  • nice job ;)

  • This makes me wanna make a beat

  • sik nasty as usual. nice 1 bruv

wana knw how r u gettin that pitch? r u transposin the sample or ...somethin els

  • yea I'm actually transposing the sample. I have the sample mode on complex and just transposing the sample. I've found thats one of my favorite ways to treat and use my samples.

  • one of the best tutorials so far, nice job bbspaz...

  • nice video

  • PROPS!

  • definitely the sample is there, you have to use Izotope 4 to get that master sound now, and try to slow down the bpm, to match out the same beats that they did, overall great work you definitelygot it.

  • Hey nice job but it takes 2 mutch time,wy don't u slize it up to midi....and record it with ur midi keybord...

    nice sample buy the way.

    cheers

    Wood

  • well if you slice it to midi you don't have as much control over the pitch and timing of you samples. its really not as efficient. may take just a LITTLE bit longer. but the results are really worth it

  • Oke i see.. i did check ur style out and ur right !!

  • any tips on getting that shuffle groove like 9th in ableton. ive seen some guys come close on fl with groove templates but with ableton im not sure how to go about it... any suggestions?

  • Haha, Ableton is sick nasty. I'm digging your videos, do you know what 9th uses for his production? I know tonnes of producers use the MPC, but heavyweights like Madlib are all about the Roland sp-303.

Looks like you've nailed down sampling in Ableton, so you're tapping.

  • I think 9th uses FruityLoops. And I've never really been big on the whole mpc thing. Ableton is very powerful, and its alot more visual than using an mpc. So I love it. But I think its not about what you use. But how you use it. I've had ppl thing some of my beats were made on an mpc. and it was all ableton baby. lol

  • another great video spaz! if u had a chance to redo another beat, can u pls, pls, pls, redo the dipolmats song- i really mean that. producted by just blaze.

i also wanted to know how to change the pitch and how u do ur drums (with and without a midi key board) . can u do a beat that includes how u do beats with a bassline, drums, synths, etc. i am getting so good with the program now cuz of your tutorials. thank u sooo much! keep up the great job.

  • ooooo. just blaze. now THATS a challenge. I'll see what I can do

  • do you use any midi surfaces?? like a MPD, or a Trigger Finger??

  • just midi keyboards and a midi wind controller. I'm not really a big fan of pads like mpd and trigger finger. but I might get something of that sort soon. I really want the akai apc40. that thing is BEAST!!
