I received food stamps for a few years, but--I could never qualify for anything like the maximum amount because I was honest about my income and my circumstances. If you can persuade the office that your cats are your children, and that you are down to your last $2.00, you might get a few hundred per month. Otherwise, you're lucky to get $100. And luckier still if they don't cut you off 3 months later when they review your case!

Yeah I sometimes get embarrassed when I go to the bank to cash my unemployment check. I go through the drive thru all the time (less eye contact). I know that I, nor you or anyone for that matter, should give a shit, but it is what it is. If you don't want to feel guilty or ashamed, just don't eat any of the food Aaaron buys :-? And btw, when I saw the cover of "Edible Wild Plants", I totally thought it said "Edible Wild PANTS". Serious. I'm such an A-Hole.
