  • She is simply amazing, gotta love rachel brice!!!

  • I agree even before I saw this video of Rachel, it doesn't matter size. it just matters if you like to dance and if you're good at it(or work it for those of us that is doesn't come natural), go for it. Wish the modeling industry was the same. I am not a skinny belly dancer though I am shortest (4''9&YES fully grown) and I can do somethings that some people can't do. GO RACHEL and thankyou for supporting us size 8 and above peoples! I wish I could meet her or Sadie.=)

  • lol @1:51 !! -- yeah, i do my floors in my bellydance costume, too. @_@

  • @m3na9 I'm not the only one! lol

  • Comment removed

  • thats awesome

  • where is she ibwant to subscribe to her and maybe have her in my wedding one day

  • @overnitesinsay Rachel Brice now lives in Portland, Oregon where she has her own studio called Studio Datara. look for it on facebook

  • hey, that song is "choli ke peeche kya hain" from an indian movie Khalnaayak... its a remixed version though.... :)

  • Rachel is an amazing dancer she really inspires me to try out belly dancing. Its so cool how she admires this woman for not caring and doing her thing.

  • GET A LOAD OF MAH BOOTY.

  • I'm glad to know that there are more people that vacuum and dance!

  • wow. now i love her even more.

  • ahah i cry when i see rachel dancing the history never dies it seems ... :) she is so beautiful and her moves are unreal

  • Inspiring

  • that woman with the vacume is the perfect housewife

  • what was the song at the end?

  • Which dvd is this extracted from please ?

  • @PruneSucree From "KhalNAYAK " indian movie

  • I can't find that documentary anywhere! i want to see it so badly

  • Well she is my inspiration.

  • This should be an inspiration to all women regardless of who they are. It is a reminder that we are in control of our own body, soul and destiny and no one can or has the right to take this away from a woman. And young girls should not have to feel pressures either. Life is for us all.

  • that is AWESOME of rachel to say! and should remind us that your body is beautiful regardless of size!

  • That larger woman at the end with all the colorful hair decorations, is that Mardi Love?

  • @TheInnerSanctuary No, that's not Mardi Love

  • @LeoRafDonnyMikey and @khandadha

the song is some sort of remix to the song "choli ke peeche kya hai"

  • thank you so much!!!!

  • She is gorgeous!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song at the end? It's awesome!

  • Gah I love/want that song! What is it?

  • Hahahaha!! She's vacuuming..lol I belly dance sometime too when I clean.. ^_^

  • oh emm gee me tooo thats devotion for ya!

  • can some one tell me the name of the indian song at the end please

  • Rachel is an amazing dancer and this proves how versatile and REAL this dance is for ANY shape of woman.

  • I agree whole heartedly ^_^

  • haha shes so funny moves AMAZINGLY i really must go to one of these tribal fusion shows

  • You are loved Rachel Brice so please continue loving what you do.

  • hehe i love the part where she is cleaning the house xD

  • It's good to know that Rachel cried too. I cried when I saw Zoe preform this past month and I was hoping it wasn't too stalker fan. (I was so close I could see her eyes twinkle)

  • Where did this interview come from?

  • is she american?

  • Yep. I believe she was born in Seattle WA.

  • LOL I want to vacuum like that.

Rachel Brice is phenomenal and inspiring.

  • rachels funny. and an amazing dancer. I wouldnt have thought thats what inspierd her to belly dance tho lol

  • Lol I found the name further down in the comments. Thanks!

  • I'd really like to know the name if the music at the end of the clip... Please?

The dancer vacuuming was great, but really liked how the vides and Rachel put into words what we all feel...

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • The last song is a remix of Choli ke Peeche.

  • I want to learn how to do that fast hip shake-walk thing! lol

  • there are some 'home-learning' video's here on youtube i belive that show you how to do the 'shimmy'

because it;s all mainly in the ankles it's not to hard to walk while doing it..

hope you find some and learn ^_^

    it;s really fun.

  • "it's all mainly in the ankles"? I was always under the impression that the shimmy was mainly in the hips and buttocks - meaning that if you wanted to practice while you were falling asleep or waking up, while still in bed, that was possible. I've never heard that shimmies come from the ankles before.

  • well, ankles and knees, you can shimmy with only your hips, but it's alot slower than doing it without using your legs. I suppose it depends on what style you're learning.

alot of hip movements in tribal belly dance are controled with the feet ankles and knees.

  • Tribal dancers usually focus on moving different parts of the body with muscles whereas more classic dancers focus on using the skeleton. So a Tribal dancer would most likely shimmy using glutes and maybe obliques whereas Egyptian, Turkish, and Cabaret dancers might have a tendency to focus on the knees. ....I've never heard of ankles either.

  • the work is all in the ankles the butt and hips just follow the flow - it's a really loose movement

  • Seeeeriously. I click on Rachel vids for inspiration, and from her I get it. What brings me down are all the hateful comments about her, that HAVE to be fueled by jelousy and insecurity. I though belly dance was supposed to liberate our inner women and foster love for ourselves and others. People. Love yourselves and you'll be able to love Rachel, and every belly dancer who gets out there and shakes it like it's the best stuff on earth.

  • Not to mention finding out exactly what are bodies could do and how they could move and how we can control one focused area to do exactly what we want. In my opinion I think every woman should take some form of dance to just free themselves with something to do and something to learn. After Seeing Rachel I want to take up some belly dancing, for me. Not anyone else.

  • The way she talks affects the way that shiksanumber7 thinks of her????? You have GOT to be kidding! Rachel is one of the most incredibly talented dancers out there. How she TALKS doesn't have anything to do with it! Her body movement says it all.

  • What the hell does the way she talks have to do with anything?

the way she talks is down to earth. She truely is a goddess, she shows us that she can be a beautiful and mysterious person and down to earth at the same time. Those are the best qualities you can have.

  • I agree with you to some degree -we all have a 'perception' at what she would sound like once she opened her mouth, based on her form of dance and costume. It was not what I was expecting either, though it takes ZERO away from her superb dancing abilities!

  • i love rachel's belly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha cuando limpia la casa mientras baila, con el traje puesto, me recuerda a mi, uno limpia con musica para bailar y mueve las caderas sosteniendo la aspiradora, hahahahah XD

  • good vid man

  • oh shit that song at the end cracked me up.

  • me too!

  • the song at the end is called choli ke peeche by bally sagoo

  • Hey what's the song in the background at the end of the interview???

  • its a remix of a bollywood song called choli ke peeche

  • hehe she's awesome...i love the part where she is cleaning around her house and dancin hehe

  • I think she is saying how much she admired this woman for not caring about Southern California tiny butt stereotypes and expressing herself in a beautiful way despite her size. It inspired her.

  • I love the way she dances especially the slower moves, hypnotic as hell!

  • American yes, and she is much better than professinal belly dancer from Turkey Didem. She is the best of the best.

  • that's not true they're both awesome and they both have their own style i don't know who are u to judge

  • What's wrong with being american? It's american tribal style belly dance. of course she's american.

  • i'm sorry. i meant no harm to americans and i might have not made myself clear. hopefully this doesn't bother you much. actually what i wanted to say is Rachael is GREAT, and she lookes really mysterious and so different onstage, not like a real human being we can all see, no matter in US or my country. when I see her in this interview she's just speaking english and wearing no make up, just like a random slim american girl. maybe i should use the word 'human like' rather than 'american'

  • i'm not sure i understand your argument. are you saying that american's can't belly dance? because, you know, sadie's from wisconsin...maybe that's not was you're saying. is there something evil about being skinny that i haven't picked up over the years? is it just sour grapes?

  • Oh honey, people are just fickle that way. Apparently If you're fat or meaty it means you're a lazy slob, if you're skinny it means you're on drugs or anorexic/bullemic. We just cant win! :P

  • oh rachael looks so different... she's so 'american' offstage... a little dissapointed to be frank (just the same feel when i saw ansuya's interview)

  • she is american lol. Just because she's famous doesn't mean she's superhuman or something. That's why she's such an inspiration for people like me - normal people really can do it. Isn't that a wonderful thing?

  • And why is being American bad?

  • is that cholike peechay remix?

    sorry if a misspelled!

    and cool about rachel's inspiration

  • por favor, ven a méxico a enseñar y a presentar tu espectáculo, gracias, eres grandiosaaa

  • I love Rachel's inspiration and take on it, that was really cool. The bootay and the vacuuming part made me laugh. She's great, and super talented, and just amazing! <3

  • dude, i can totally relate to the whole, "whoah! that chick doesn't have a perfect ass, or a perfect stomach, or whatever, but she's doesn't give a crap! she's doing what she loves! I totally gotta do that too!" vibe... rachel's amazin!

  • what is the name of the song that comes on when she is vaccuming? I heard it on a bollywood movie but i forgot

  • It's called Choli ke Peeche by Bally Sagoo.

  • can somebody tell be what she said? I can't understand vey well what she say, please! :(

  • She`s talking about a woman, bellydancer, that she saw once.the woman was very fat, but she danced very good and didn`t care about her fat booty, belly and stuff hanginout :).... and Rachel liked it `cause she`s from California where u have to have "perfect litle but and...bla" and she said to herself "oh,I have to do that"

  • (to papillonidae's responce-) ...And every word of it is true. Bellydancing just evokes a kind of confidence and passion about your body that you never would've thought existed, especially for females.

Plus its a hell of a workout. :)

  • lol vacuuming was funny, but the one video at the end kind of was like leaving me with a "wth" expression. Ive seen the other women before too I just can't remember their troupe name. anyways this video is AWESOME lol favorited and 5/5 stars!

  • "Look at mah bootaaay!" XD

  • i love the hoovering part! hillarious

  • cool interview. nice to know where someone as inspiring as Rachel got some of her inspiration from! Love the vacuuming bellydancing bit- lol! maybe if i do that at home, the place would get vacuumed sometime!

  • haaahaahaa..its not just th video that made me laugh, i've been reading or the comments and practically every other comment is someone asking what the song is, the other comments are people actually saying what the song is!! for crying out loud people are you just too damn lazy to read through the comments to see if someones mention the name of the song rather than make yourself look like an idiot asking a question that has been answered like a million times already!! RB is AMAZING!!!

  • great interview and I love the goofyness at the end. dose anyone know what the name of the song near the end of the video?

  • The song at the end is a remix of the song Choli Ke Peeche from the (around 1993?)Bollywood movie Khal Nayak starring Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt - great dance in the movie :) Madhuri is an AMAZING dancer, one of the best in Bollywood history. I think that might be the Bally Sagoo remix of the song.

  • Yea it is the Bally Sagoo remix version of the song! And definitely one of the best remix versions! :)

  • Aw, this is why I love Rachel Brice. She was inspired by confidence and pride, and didn't mind a large woman. After all, it's about the quality of the dance!

And yet, I still found the ending hilarious lol...and inspiring xD

  • I totally bloody love the bit with the hoover at the end... lol

  • Thanks for posting--to me dance is all about how feminine it makes you feel. Glad a 'pro' name like Rachel feels it as well.

  • Rachel is amazing

  • omg, rachel, u rock mah sox!

  • hi, what's the name of the last song?

  • Choli ke Piche, I think....sorry if the spelling is wrong...

  • when is this movie coming out?

  • This is an inspirational video. I love that a superstar like Rachel Brice is moved by confident women of all sizes. I will always keep this in my heart and I wish that I could have seen that woman dance too!

  • Arabs are not black!! And tribal culture it´s not only for eastern people. I´m Spanish and I feel mediterranean, not European. Everybody should learn a little bit of History...

  • The Women that Rachel talking about is from teh Group habibi Ruh

Rachel was crying because she gets emaotioanl of that women, who doesn`t care what people might say about her figure or liek that she just dance, and had this amazing energy and dancing with no caring the peoples say, so that makes rachel Cry, this huge energy and selftrust and proud of the women.

  • shes not white.

  • yes she is...

  • Now I have one more reason to adore this woman. She´s really conscious of what Raqs Sharqi means. This is a dance for every woman that just wants to celebrate life! Keep on dancing Rachel!!

  • Whats the name of Indian song

  • wow she is down to earth, and funny!

  • She is! I had the pleasure of meeting her in Maui for a week. :D She's hilarious, and so nice!

  • can anyone tell me where she trained??

  • She has trained primarily with Ariellah and Suhaila Salimpour.

  • Actually Ariellah was one of her students. She has trained mainly with Caroleena noriccio (spelling, sorry) of Fat Chance belly dance and Jill parker of Ultra Gypsy (who also danced in Fat chance) She has also trained with Suhaila as nefabit mentioned, as well as many others.

  • so does anyone know the name of the lady that inspired rachel?

  • i would like to know this too

  • you are very beautiful rachel. hugs from spain ;)

  • ejnye, ejnye, én még ilyen mozgású nőt nem láttam, basszus, kirrrály!!! Lehet hogy felkarolták lehet hogy nem, de isteni az biztos!!!:-)))

  • what is the song playing in the end of the video?

  • its a remix of "choli ke peche" if u search it on youtube you'll find a song from an indian film "khal nayak" ..::awesome clip::..

  • azért vicces, hogy nem nagy jövőt szántak neki, de mégis híresebb lett akármelyik hastáncosnál =)

  • csak azért lett híresebb, mert egy megfelelő ember felkarolta... így könnyű.

  • Shes from California

  • is she indian?

  • Shes from California

  • She is gypsy, not Indian

  • we're not 'gypsy' anything, we're of Roma descent. 'gypsy' is about as flattering as 'gook', so try to use it sparingly, k?

    :)

  • the song is Choli Ke Peeche (Bally Sagoo Remix).

  • I believe that choli ke peeche means "what's under your choli" heheh....

  • I hit it.

  • love the song choley ke picheh, i was mesmerized by the dance when i was a kid. fuckiin love it thanx!

  • What's the song's name?

  • Choli ke peeche

  • I love belly dance!! One of the things I love most about my dancing has been that I've learnt to really embrace my curviness and feel beautiful and strong in the midst of a culture that presents us with the crazy notion that beauty is only one shape. It would be nice to see a bit more diversity in the Indigo and BDSS...as gorgeous as all these women are, Some other types of gorgeousness thrown into the mix would be nice : )

  • Was that 300lb dancer Saideh, from Benicia, CA?

  • I think so

  • Anyone know the name of the song at the very, very end?

    Thank you!!

  • The only thing i can give to help is "Choli ke peeche" thats what my mp3 says anyway :P

  • it's an indian song called "choli ke peeche kya hai" from the movie "khalnayak."

  • Yay, thanks! :D

  • Man I want to learn how to belly dance. Since I got married my husband loves the wieght I have gained. I am 5'3 and weigh 135. I've heard people call me fat but I want to show them that if they don't like the way I look they can kiss my fat ass. I want to learn to belly dance just to show them it doesn't matter what size you are.

  • It's nice for someone to appreciate their body. I think that really speaks about a woman's strength. The only problem is the health risks. :(

  • i would bet my life she is a smoker

  • Unfortunately, I was thinking the same thing. She's a gorgeous dancer, nevertheless.

  • I believe (but don't quote me on this) she used to be a smoker, but she quit after the first BDSS tour.

  • Health and genetics produces a good body. We're all the survivors of hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. Most of us have decent enough genes to have good bodies, but our health is the problem. More activity and a return to the diet we had thousands of years ago will help.

  • Bellydancing is a really good activity for women it not only tones and strengthens the ENTIRE body but prodouces a healthy and positive attitude which in turn streghtens our body image and boosts our self esteem.

  • wow, the vacuuming is that rachel? that's cute.

  • She makes vacuuming look so much fun

  • ha én egyszer így tudnék... o_O

  • she's really great.

  • what's name this song?

  • I like the vacuming bellydance in the last part.

  • why does she referes herself in 3rd person? i cant heard anything though =( but she kept saying "she....."

  • lol shes not reffering to herself. She is talking about someone else (another dancer) that inspired her.

  • oh.. well i cant hear anything either my pc's volume is low.. i thought she was refering to herself cause when she says something they show parts of her perfomances do you by any chance know wich dancer she's talking about?

  • According to her bio, Hahbi'Ru.

  • yeah, someone need to show me this lady that inpsired her! But I am already inspired by her!!

  • She was talking about the person who inspired her...

  • she has a beautyful face and body.....

  • You're leaving out the rest of every single thing on her! lol. She's so beautiful...

  • Was that Rachel vaccuuming? I've seen that interview before but not the vaccuuming, that is funny. I should vaccuum with my belly dance gear on too, it would make it a funner to do.

  • what is the song*?

  • whats the sound??

  • The song is Choli Ke Peeche.

  • Oh man! Everyone that is bullying or making fun of bigger people, especially dancers should see this video...Rachel, you are awesome! Thanks for that!

  • please the name of that remix!!!!
