@waverly2468 Good perspective on it. It is a lot like one of those traps. Either suffer like hell to get out of it, or die from the hell that they put you through. They really did have me fooled at first, but as so much time has gone by I've really started to see the truth of the matter. It is a horrible trap, and I have to think really fast about what my next move will be. At this point I'm not sure if I should renegotiate or not, but I'll be damned if I do and damned if I don't.
I'm $30K in the hole for a worthless piece of paper with my name on it. Fuck, I could've printed that out myself. Colleges are nothing but businesses selling terrible products with no return policies. Fucking bullshit!

It all depends on wht kind of loans you have... if you have federal loans, your servicers like Sallie Mae & NelNet are not teh ones to blame becuase they can only do what they are aloud to by federal regulation. & there are repayment options & stuff like deferment or forbearance that can help lower the payment if you need help. I have loans with Sallie Mae also & they are always very helpful when I call, I just have to ask to speak to a rep in the US.
I am up for the kitty cirkus! Oh, and no on the commune, well unless you don't mind geriatrics and MR kids there. I already made a deal with someone on that particular commune. School loans are just a way of making us feel dumb again after being out of school.
i'm down for the Commune... but i will NOT sleep outside either. My grandparents have some land.. maybe we could build a cabin. ??? i have 2 cats to contribute to the kitty circus...

I hate Sallie Mae!!!! I'm not even done I haven't graduated.. and they are already sending me crap, like 3 times a week. i'm gonna be paying them for like 10 years and thats just the fucking interest rates!!! Yeah I'm with you on the motel kitty circus commune.
