@themetroidprime If you look closely, you'll notice that they are not Reapers. It just debris falling into Earth's atmosphere... already on fire. I know, vacuum of space, there's no fire! Well, maybe it's a massive piece of starship bulkhead which still contains a little oxygen inside... Anyway, ablaze scrap metal from a ship shot to pieces in the battle off screen... Not a Reaper! :)

@PSBlasius Nope, they are reapers. In every trailer you can see part of cutscenes with those reapers entering in the atmosphere. Moreover, I played the beta, you can be sure those are reapers in the end of the first mission :)

@themetroidprime sovereign never landed on earth, he landed on edin prime which has different atmospheric compounds that earth (less carbon). plus the huge amount of energy the reapers carry would enduce combustion

@EllboGrease27 Eden Prime's atmosphere is almost the same as Earth's atmosphere. Less carbon is not a reason, it doesn't change fluid thermodynamic proprieties. Plus, there is no combustion, because Reapers have Ezo-shield whish preserve them for touching anything that could damage them.

According to the scale, they're still in space (or thermosphere) when they start to heat up, and that is irrealistic.

Oh, and the ezo-shield can protect you from plasma and radiations, according to a few missions in ME1 and 2.

@themetroidprime you have just contradicted yourself. you said that the reapers appear to have not reached the mesophere which would mean that they would be in the thermosphere were the diluted gases can reach 2,500 degrees Celsius and the reapers would create huge friction colliding with them. Also the overall temperature of the thermosphere can rise 1,500 degrees Celsius depending on solar activity. tbh i think we're both looking into this a bit too much, it is a game after all...

@EllboGrease27 I know that, but look : The ISS is on orbit in the thermosphere, however, it's not heating up, because the gases are not dense enough to cause such a friction. Also, you can see in several videos that the space shuttles don't heat up at this altitude.

@enpy Well the coding used here was, I think, from before E3. So naturally Clint Mansell's music hasn't been implemented yet. I think they'll replace this placeholder music before release. If not, oh well. Its still good music.

@sarttan His theme can be heard in the campaign footage of the beta leak. There's a cinematic cutscene where 2 shuttles get destroyed and Mansell's theme is used, right before the opening title shot. The music is incredible beautiful. Check it out if you can find it.

@abreger87 I've seen it before, and Clint's themes can be heard. However, the combat music hasn't been replaced yet, neither has the main menu music. Still from what I've heard by Clint Mansell so far, I think he'll pull it off quite nicely.
