I think you'll find that 218 has been out for a month or two now, and not because of the compressor, the springs were being sent away for re-conditioning and the driving wheels were being machined, it is due back in service some time within the next 2 weeks.
well, that is the only other surviving AC16 and it is great to see her welland truely on her way back to operation. are my eyes deceiving me or is that an original tender? that provides a great contrast to No.221A with her more modern tender, both look great.
Depends on what you mean by AC16 because there are others of the same class working in the US. That tender is actually an old C16 tender which QR put on in the late 50's (or there abouts). 221A has a newly built tender that is supposed to resemble an original tender from the outside (although altered on the inside to a similar design to the welded C17 tender).
well maybe you would be so kind to do a little reserch before you go and critizise shit, see if you new the first thing about that loco, you would no that the cylinder cocks don't acually close yet, and secondly you obviously nn absolutly know sweet fuck all about engines, I you have a months worth of condensation to blast out you wanna get rid of it before you blow the covers off
218A is currently out of service with a bad air compressor and is currently being repaired

Perhaps someone could be so kind as to close the cylinder cocks for a few moments so that we may see what she looks like.
DerechoDragon 3 years ago
Perhaps not. These are the first two movements in steam in nearly 40 years. Last thing you want is closed cylinder cocks.
