In this day and age, can anyone produce at least ONE punjabi song that is not about punjabis killing punjabis? can't come up with new material? or is that just how far punjabis' taste go in music?
Lakhwinder is not doing any justice to his father's legacy. he is a classically trained gaaek and he should establish himself in the classical field rather than singing machoistic songs like this. I agree (somewhat) with the message that the video is trying to portray but his (lakwinder's) beliefs completely go in opposition to that of his father, who preaches the message of love, tolereance and compassion through his songs unlike lakhwinder who is preaching vindictiveness and violence
I'm a Sikh and I totally agree with you. Sikhi isn't even about any of this. Sikhi preaches love and acceptance of everybody. Even to kill another should never be in revenge, but to protect those being oppressed.
Have you even watched the video? The reference of Sava Lakh totally relates to Sikhi, and also the one about sir dekeh laiyah sardariyah has everything to do with Sikh history. What does it matter if he's a Sikh Hindu or Muslim in relation to his song? He also sang Allah Hu, is he now a Musulmaan? I appreciate he is trying to display Sikhs as warriors who battle oppression, but the gangster image is so not Sikhi. Sikhi - love, and therefore Saint Soldier, not badboy gangster
@ssaujla Dharmendra Singh Deol - the actor's father was named Kewal Krishan - and he was a Sikh. My maternal uncle was Mohan Lal Gill - and he was a Sikh. Don't talk like some of the hairsplitting SGPC types.
