dunno if you bought your truck already, just thought i'd throw this out there anyways, if you're buying a truck for towing, make sure it has the 4.10 gear ratio. you can put a really powerful engine in any truck... if it's not geared out right, it's not gonna be able to tow well. one question though, why do you want a 3/4 ton instead of a 1 ton?
diesel is alot more power..last 3 times as long..i had a cummins in a 2003 i had to get a new truck body and do some new work on engine i put it in a new body..100000 miles is breaking it in..plus diesel is better for environment..it is alot cooler..and idk theyre ok on diesel
@JrNba32 diesel is not bettr for environment, even if diesel burn less gas, they emit way more co2 than gas engine.....check it out before cmmenting back
@CedrikTheManiac00 On a volume basis this is true. When you compare the same volume of exhaust produced then there is much more Co2 produced by the diesel. The thing is, a diesel is SO much more efficient that you don't produce near the volume of exhaust that a gasser does.
You can lean out a diesel and still maintain power where as it is the opposite with a gasser. For Towing and Working you can not beat a diesel.
@cam2724 depends your need ....the v-10 ford or dodge is as strong if not more then there available diesel..... the only and real good thing with diesel is there low rpm torque....but now they have gasser who are at max peak torque in the 1500 rpm range....so i gets it goes down to what you want...my point is small truck dont need diesel it should be keep for big rig, where the fuel economy really makes a difference, just my 2 cents
@cam2724 plus g on ford and look at there mpg rating betwenn the new gas engine and the diesel they have right now?(6.4 i think)...the gas is better in fuel economy than the diesel
@CedrikTheManiac00 You're right that diesels produce more CO2. That's due to their more efficient burning of the fuel. Plants NEED CO2 (therefore, not a pollutant), but cannot use CO which is produced from gasoline engines. Our own bodies NEED a certain balance of CO2 to O in order to live. However, just a small amount of CO can be toxic.
first of all good job on choosing a dodge, i myself have a ram hemi 4x4 and love it my dream truck is however, a mega cab 2500 cummins turbo diesel it is up to you to pick the best one for your life style
just buy the 5.9 and get it over with fgts

well it really depends on what you are going to use it for
if you are towing get the diesel but if its for just daily driving probably the gas
I would get the diesel because they last longer, sound better, and although the
$ for diesel is a little expensive i would still get the diesel with the 6 speed manual
but none the less its your choice just pick the on that would suit your needs best
