Why does Disney put all the good stuff in the overseas parks, and we get cheap retreads and Disco Yeti in the US? Hey Iger, you've gotta spend money to make money!
make it in california adventure or adventure land..it would be the first new attraction in over...50 years? im tierd of florida and freaking japan getting all this cool stuff and disneyland gets jack!...seriously thats all we get...the skellington guy
Does this ride go fast at all? Is it a roller coaster or a level dark ride without dips? Dorney Park had a ride with the same title but it was an older old mill chute ride and it was torn down after 1992. I rode it many times years ago through 1992. I have a video of it on here.
@rwk360 It's a very complicated ride system. The best way I can put it is that it's a thrilling dark ride, kinda like Test Track at Epcot in Walt Disney World (if you've ever tried it)
This attraction isn't based on a particular film, it's based on the book "A Journey to the Center of the Earth" By Jules Vern, with is about two explorers who climb down into a volcano in order to reach the center of the earth, & along the way they encounter dinosaurs, & a giant underground ocean. This ride is only loosely based on the book.
i went on that ride before and it was the best and scariest ride i have EVER been on, especially when it goes really fast suddenly and comes out the side of the mountain.....
the effects are pretty cool but its slow the whole time and the only thrilling part is the big drop.but its an AWESOME drop.too bad you didnt get to ride it :(
they are, however, building a cars ride in California Adventure that uses the same car technology as this ride. Which also uses the same car technology as the Epcot Test Track ride.
I FREAKING LOVE DISNEYLAND. It is so freaking cool like for eg this ride.Although close to the end i cried cause i thoguth the ride was over then suddenly VROOM down the coaster goes.U MUST VISIT DISNEYLAND CAUSE IT IS SO AWSEOME
toyko disney sea is a great place and COE is my favorite ride, right up there with TOT. visit the park a couple times a month and always go for a ride on COE to let loose.
DisneySea is completely unlike any other park.. it may have rides from other parks, but its not anything like Disneyland in California.. and i like originality in Disney. i dont like visiting the same park as much as different parks in different countries.. but of course, i would always pay up a fortune to go to any Disney park. either in California, or all the way to Paris..
I love DisneySea so much! I live just 40mins from both parks here in Tokyo. Journey to the Centre of the Earth is one of my favourite rides of all time, the tower of terror just across from it in "american harbor" is also up there with it :-) The themeing for DisneySea is so wonderful! All the stories blend in (even stormrider takes you over "american harbor" as it would look in the future) Love this park and love this ride!!
the lizard thing is just a lizard thing really :-P while waiting in line, you go past a lab which has a few of it's eggs and a juvenile version of it in jars, all the secrets to the ride are in pictures and displays.
I always loved that volcano!! one time it eruptes so violintly, everyone stopped and looked up worrying if the thing would actually blow up!! rofl!! I went to disneysea the same year it opend :)
The illuminati have been busy I see. Does anyone recall the scripture Jesus spoke that hell is in the center of the earth? Hollow earth theory is running rampant and disney is in on it too. Wake up people.
Plus, it was the one of the only Jules Verne novels that haven't come to fruition here in the present, like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (submarines), Around the World in 80 Days (worldwide-travel) and A Trip to the Moon (Our very first tentative footsteps into space).
There's been news about disneylands going to be opened in Shanghai and Moscow. I seriously hope Disney doesn't build any and instead patches up all the problems it has in HKDL, Anaheim and Disneyland Paris (which is dramatically improving). HKDL needs loads of polishing.
They are about to sink 1.2 billion dollars into fixing California Adventure. The wildly successful Disneyland 50th anniversary convinced Disney that Anaheim had tremedous potential. And the do own enough land for a third gate.
Isn't that what never made it to ANimal Kingdom? It was in the planning when Animal Kingdom was under construction (with all the rides you just mentioned being planned) but they decided not to go with it at the last minute.
A pretty cool thing would to have a 'driver' (like a speiler on the JC) to 'drive' the subbterran things and tonarrate. He/she could really add to the feel of the ride, but I guess it's too expensive.
I've been on this attraction for the first time last week and it has become one of my top Disney attractions with Tower of Terror ( Orlando, Anaheim and Tokyo versions), Expedition Everest, Space Mountain (American, Tokyo and Paris ones), and Soarin'.
It is unbelievable, theming is incredible from the view of the volcano from the entrance of the Park to inside the attraction.
We found it! The eighth wonder of the whirled! The cause of global warming!
The man-made volcano that spews hydrocarbons, from the people who brought you the Kyoto protocol!
If global warming is indeed man-caused, then how is puffing clouds of black smoke and flames from a man-made volcano justified? Oh- I see, I need to buy carbon credits to offset the effects.
See how ridiculous the whole thing is? Please be careful not to touch the green lava.
It is HIGHLY rumored/possible, that this amazing, brilliant, innovative Disney attraction may soon/one day/some day find it's way to Disney's Animal Kingdom. The ride technology is the same as EPCOT's TEST TRACK, but FAR more beautiful and imaginative (though TEST TRACK is awesome on its own!).
2 things: One, How would a ride based on a novel by Jules Verne tie in wtih Animal Kingdom? Two, if Disney's going to do anything with Animal Kingdom, they better put in that Beastly Island or whatever idea that gut scrapped. That dragon ride and Fantasia ride would be friggin' awesome!
Yea. I go only to Disney World and I've been to Disneyland once as a very small child, but I don't remember that too well. But I go to Disney World nearly every year, and I'm very educated in telling parts alike.
I went with my family, sinceI am Japanese, and my sister loved this ride, butI did not, so I had to go on this ride 4 times in a row, and I threw up every single time, and there was no line when I was there, so I did not have to wait.

Ah. So, that's what it was. I see. I was a bit nervous about this ride so I didn't ride it. You made the drop look very mild. ^_^ I thought that drop was as tall as Universal Studios (FL) Jurassic Park drop. Glad that you recorded it. Doesn't look so bad. Next time I go back to DisneySea (which is probably a one in a million chance), I'll ride "Journey" for sure.
yup this ride was amazing! only rode it twice cause there wasn't enough time but haha it really made my hair stand at the last part when you zoom out of the volcano.
Holy cow! I had read about the Magma monster and wanted to see it for myself never having the opportunity to see Disney Seas. That's amazing! Looks even more amazing than the Yeti in EE! Thanks for posting!
Every cars of Center of the Earth has the strong motor which can speed up as folmula1, so they can speed up directly in the final scene.
