I keep watching this video time and time again - it's just SO beautiful! Haldir is my absolute favourite elf, he is so, so utterly gorgeous! I wish he hadn't died in the movie...I just comfort myself with the thought that he didn't die in the book. Haldir lives!

so great. i was tetering on the edge of liking legolas and haldir and couldn't decide who i like more. but i think this vid helped to push me over the side of liking haldir more. it's so sad. and i liked the adding of the actual music vid and the random clip from king arthur. i thought it flowed really well. keep up the good work. such an amazing video.

I don't think including the music vid was necessary at all and it detracted somewhat from the overall message.

Also, the sudden inclusion of clips of some guy screwing some girl was confusing - not just because it's not LotR (although that's a biggie), but also because, as a slasher, I prefer Haldir to be paired with another guy! :D

He did acutaly did leave several people behind when he died at Helms deep. His brothers, Rumil and Orophin, and somewhere someone had said that he SUPOSABLY had a family. (It was siad that he has kids that always killed them selves. That's all I know about his family.)

Acutally, in the books(book #2), there were no Elves at Helm's Deep (aside from Legolas), and the Elves of Lórien were occupied in battles against forces out of Moria and Dol Guldur which were only mentioned in passing.

Haldir was the ONLY elf who could speak Westron and could speak to the Fellowship. Sorry (I'm re-reading "ALL THE BOOKS".)

yeah zippy14u, you're absolutely right. When it comes to Helm's Deep, the movie's not following book canon. But I always loved the idea of the elvish warriors fighting side by side with the others. And I love the scene when Haldir dies in Estel's arms. This is sooo brave and sad. Practically, I'm not a Haldir fan (I prefer Legolas and Estel), but he's a strong character and this vid is one of the best LOTR fanvids I've ever seen. BTW, I'm just re-reading the books, either.
