Try using Hygroton (sp) clay rocks. They're great from seedling to flower. The keep the pH in range but offer no nutrition except what you put in to it. Be sure to keep the roots hidden from direct sunlight.
Nice setup u should try making one on a bigger scale.. like with a 275gallon liquid container (pallet sized). I just picked up 2 of them for 40bucks a piece
Correct me if im wrong but with this hydroponic technique don't you have to constantly buy plant food making it more expensive than traditional soil planting technqiues?
you have to buy plant food with every kind of hydroponic system, the whole point in hydroponics is that it uses a soilless mixture wich gives the plants roots more oxygen it also is a self watering unit which means your plants get the water and nutrients when they need them rather than when you water your plants. growing hydroponically will save you alot of time as well compared to soil grows and personally i find you get much better results when using a hydroponics syetem
This video shows how to setup and plant seeds in the hydropond. 7:27 is how long it took to set up the hydropond and plant seeds. { INTO HYDROPONICS NOT MAKEING VIDEOS }1,855 hits in less than 2 months is cool with me. Thank you for the reply.
i use perlite so i can ptant with seeds . and it is easy to transplant plants.i could use the other mediums. but .we pay less than $10.00 for the BIG bag [4 cubic feet ] of perlite.

mjs1989 1 year ago
@mjs1989
YES it is possible to start all seeds directly from perlite
99% of what i plant is from seeds. the price is right.
one plant goes around $5.oo that is 3 or 4 packs of seeds.
the seeds will last me 3 or 4 years,and i get a LOTof plants from each pack of seeds.

This video shows how to setup and plant seeds in the hydropond. Not how to make the unit.
