I was suprised that Carol turned out to be a Spiderbabe. Memorable early versions of Spiderman by the legendary Ralph Bakshi. To quote the legendary creator Stan Lee. Excelsior!!!!!!!!
I love how Ralph Bakshi's influence of jazz music took a part in this show. Even before is debut of 'Fritz The Cat' and 'Heavy Traffic' he was able to use it in his work.
Has anyone found the music for the beginning of this episode: the groovy beat guitar music and also the CHASE music later with the pulsating brass? (the same chase music was used in PARDO PRESENTS and COLD STORAGE too)
@LISAB68 From an article I read online ".... it can be nearly impossible to unearth music that was used for a particular show when the reels were never marked "background music from Spider-man" but instead with titles like "action scene," "city scape," "outer space," or "police chase." " There is a band that came out with a CD a while back of covers of the tunes from season 1. I bought it off CD Baby. It's really good. wwwDOTspider-bandDOTcom
To add to your response, if you have an iTunes account, do a search for "KPM". Spider Sounds Vol 1 and 2 should pop up. The albums have music from the TV series, but not all of it is in there. The title music from "Home" is not in there unfortunately, but you will definitely recognize other music.
@brianspinkicker Thanks for the tip. I'll have to check that out. I did run a google search for "KPM" Spider Sounds and did come across the collection you are talking about. That's cool. I also noticed that the CD I have isn't available anymore on CDBaby unfortunately. I went ahead and uploaded a tune off it The title of the upload is "Volume-The Amazing Spider-Band-Dementia 5 ".
"FEEL LIKE SWINGIN', GONNA SEE CAROL TOMORROW..." NEVER FORGOT THAT, BUT I NEVER THOUGHT I'D EVER USE IT. I THREW THAT AT MY WIFE WHOSE NAME IS CAROL, AND SHE WENT "HUH?" LOL!!!
Peter Parkers Manhattan at night is such a groovey place. Somehow I never left this place. I still love this series. Hard to believe its been 43 yrs. The backgrounds, and lets not forget the music, This was a very special thing. Its hard to put into words but I couldnt imagine my childhood without it. I know many feel the same. Heres to us. Generation X.

@Capuano231 the are only a few Ralph Bakshi(Spiderman) animated cartoons i like..this is one of them. The other ones are when Spiderman fights Skyboy and Dimentia 5. I love nearly ALL of Grantray Lawrence's Spiderman ep.
Thanks for the upload, Man. The second season was the best with all the psychdelic backgrounds and fab music. I knew something happened in the third season with all the recycled plotlines, sets and new animation house.
@gadzooks004 So any idea who's behind the music used right at the beginning? It sounds like it might be Alan Hawkshaw to me but I haven't been able to locate it in the KPM library yet.
"Home" was a cool episode. The best thing about it was that groovy, psychadelic pop music in the intro. I also liked Carol. A almost-perfect match for Spidey/Peter. A real shame that it didn't last. Best line from Spidey: "Blast your rule!" Way to rattle the TV censors, web-head.
This is a groundbreaking episode for a couple of reasons. Long before JMS did his totem thingy, Spider-Man's powers were put into question, could they have been alien in origin? The Spider-Leader said they'd been there a long time. And 2, this marks the first time in this series that anyone else has called a masked Spider-Man by "Peter." And up until this episode, only in the comics did anyone know he and Spider-Man were the same person.
These Bakshi episodes had killer music, especially in this episode great jazz rock ensemble, check out the beginning. Stuff like this you just don't hear anymore. Wish I knew where to get a CD of the music alone..sigh
this is a classic. these cartoons were done with different plot, stories, and possibly animators too. in these episodes, they are more down home than when he fought the green goblin, electro, mysterio,or the vulture. the spiderman episodes had peter going into strange worlds and galaxies. everything seemed to be at night with the psychedelic background. two of my favorite episodes came with this type of animation; skyboy and the origin of spiderman.
The first season of Spiderman in the 60's (1967) was cool! Gantney Lawrence was the animinator, and they showed 15 minute episodes where he fought his arch rivals! The animators went bankrupt afterwards, and the ones who took over didn't have the same pizazz. I didn't care for these episodes.

That anyone, BTW was no one other than Norman Osborn, aka The Green Goblin. So Carol was in small company during that era.
