  • I wish MY hair looked half as good as his tail!

    He's a beautiful mover!

  • hey Melissa it's Kiera, Trystan looked very pretty (as always)!!!!! =]

  • very beautiful and wanderful hair !

  • the horses tail looks matted its really thick and just stays in one place whilst cantering

    o___0

  • I think it looks really smooth. I dont have time to do the tail because my horse it white and it takes millions of hoirs to clean her.

is there tail extentions on the tail?

  • hiyaaa :)

urmmmm.. yeah it don't really look matted i think it just looks thick and smooth too!

it was my sister who left this message, sorry bout that! x

  • Very lovely movement! I'm leasing a TB/Welsh X and his trot is quick. Does he have a big stride?

  • this horse has lovely movement and I love the size. Moves like a big warmblood but shorter, more suitable for women, and really beautiful. Fun video.

  • Thank you so much for the comments. That is exactly what we want to hear!

  • i actually love his tail :D

  • i have a welsh cob mare called innch sge is beautiful and can jump quiet high abit spooky but i still luv her so much there r a few vids on ma site

  • hi will u look at my videos. look at the vid called 'my horse baloo' he is a welsh cob out of 'gwarcoed twmcoch' out of 'maesmynach flyer' please tell me if he is good enough for showing. thanks

  • how is he out of 2 mares ?

  • wah u mean my cob.

soz i didnt explain. his FATHER is 'gwarcoed twmcoch' and GWARCOED TWMCOCH'S FATHER is 'maesmynach flyer. my cobs MOTHER is felinfach rosina.

  • gorgeous horse, i do agree on the not pulling the tail part, its really nice, but i dont think it looks right on him, maybe on a fresian or another breed. But very good rider, you're good at sitting while cantering, im leasing a welsh cob from a friend and he is a very tempermental horse, i wish he would have that type of canter because he immediately wants to gallop as soon as he canters but very gorgeous horse and very good rider

  • u shouldnt pull a welsh cobs tail. i live in wales and it does not look right on them with a pulled tail. they are mountain and moorland and shown in natural state!

  • I didnt realise that at 15 years old you could be a judge with an expert opinion. I have spoken to many breeders and they all say PULL the tail

  • Ive never heard of pulling a tail. Ive always been told short pulled main and beautiful tail!

  • mane*

  • omg he is beatiful and i love his tail he has a great action aswel keep up the good work!

  • I have a welsh cob, also barefoot, she is shown in hand and judges are shocked when they see she is barefoot because she has such a nice action..im just proud its real!

  • Agreed, the hands shake a little. But apart from that the rider has a firm seat, the horse has good forward movement and congratulations on those transitions - they're really good!

  • I agree- cut it like the traditional welshies. My welsh D had his pointed (cutting ends in a slight point) and it looks so lovely. It's been left to grow aoput and it has just stayed that way. It really shows off their quarters and movement

  • nice hor´se, bad rider! don´t shake your hands! but the horse is really beautyful...

  • Cob tails should be pulled.... i agree... it's far more natural to have it pulled. Bramble and twigs pull it naturally on the mountains. But its very nice to see him doing so well after surgery.

  • wow, look at that tail, beautiful cob, im a fanatic! got a sec d x myself check her out

  • I don't agree with ozwelshcobs. His tail is gorgeous! And no shoes! I'm so proud!! lol. We don't have any of our horses or ponies shod and we never will! Call me crazy, but we don't believe in shoeing at all.

  • His tail is gorgeous but if they are going to show him, then they should do all they can to enhance the horses action and body type. The tail does not enhance the horses physical attributes that he will be judged on in the ring.

All you can see is the tail not horse which is a shame. and unfortunately it is likely a proper welsh judge will put him down the line if the tail is left like that.

  • They won't put him down, it makes you look at his action in the hind as you can see he has nice hind action and then this makes you look at the front. and i am from the showing world showing coloureds and a welsh cob

  • Not at any welsh show I have been to in the last 20 odd years and any judges from the UK that judge here always say to pull the tail.

But if you want people to notice his tail more than him well keep the tail like that. Personally I would rather have people remember my horse not his tail.

Look at the royal welsh no winners with big tails.

  • He really would look much nicer if his tail was actually pulled properly as they do for welsh cob stalions in the Wales. He seems like a nice horse but the tail really takes away from him and you would be amazed how a properly pulled/groomed tail well show off his movement and body.

  • God i've never seen a ridden class done like that before!

He is certainly the nicest there! Was there just the 3 of you in the class?

  • nice horse :)

  • Thank you for the comment. We think he is nice too, and are happy to see him returning to his old self after his colic surgery. Its pretty obvious from the video that his stamina is not where it once was as he just can't keep "showing off" his movement for a whole class, that will come as he gets back into condition! And his movement is not fake, he is completely BAREFOOT, no shoes! Thanks again

  • WOW that is the most impressive tail i have ever seen!

  • Thank you for the compliment. To tell you the truth, we probably don't care for it like we should. It is washed and braided into a couple LARGE braids and then put into large mens socks and left for several months. About every 3-4 months we repeat the process (or just before a show). It is often cut several inches as it tends to drag and Trystan steps on it. Everything here on the farm tends to grow a tail pretty well, but really there is no secret! Thanks again
