The linux-mac shell doesn't work. it only reboots the phone and never goes beyond part 1/3 of exploit.  Followed instructions, usb debugging on and charge only. Daemon starts but that's it hangs up every time after that

@splatgurl Hello, If you use the version 2 of the Photon-4G-OCR file and run it it worked for me. The newer version of the file on the webpage didn't work for me on my 2.3.4 v of Photon. Hope it helps!!!!!

@johnson9203 that is because the phone broadcasts in ad hoc mode and tablets generally need infrastructure to connect. Try setting the device profile to galaxy s II or something

i lost some privilages to my phone after rooting it such as txt msging and calling I can recieve calls but when I answer I cant hear anything nor the person I called and same goes to those who call me I can answer the call but they wont hear me n I wont hear them and txt messages I can send but not receive unless I turn off n on my phone I receive all the replys in in bulk at the same time. could that be the problem that i rooted my phone using these same instructions?

Root loaded correctly, root confirmed, wifi tether app setup to Galaxy S2 and laptop connects to the tether. The only problem - even with tether connection, I get the "No Internet Connection" on the laptop. Any ideas on why I still don't have internet connection?

@MrVikterA it's due to the phone only broadcasting in ad hoc. its something there's no fix for unfortunately, some devices will connect, some wont.

question on the WiFi tether app, i follow your video instructions the apk goes to my sd card, i can install it and i see what you see when i run the app but the photon does not show WiFi icon at top bar nor is there WiFi on. I power cycled the phone, but i have yet to remove and re install it, is there something else you can recommend?

@ljavier68 update , i re downloaded it via the qr code and now see the little icon at the top bar on the phone but my touchpad dose not pick up the wifi. and right now i do not have another device to see if is only the touchpad. I will get back to you on that. but the rooting works, ( even with the sun-198.7 thank you.)

@HBKilluminati7 You can, but you have to unlock your bootloader, then install clockworkmod then flash a rom. unlocking your bootloader will break 4g

go to system and edit environmental variables add %path%;C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\plat­form-tools (this is mine might be similar to where your platform tools are... if not just copy and paste the location of platform tools after %path%;..... that should add adb to your system hopefully

@kekugo Update: I've tried several versions: 2_0_2, 3_1-Beta6, 3_1beta11, and 3_0-pre12... all of which were suggestions from other forums. None of these work. Currently using 3_1-Beta6 as used in your video. The Auto profile doesn't enable Access Control. If I change profile to Galaxy S, and setup method to Netd(master), I am able to enable Access Control. Regardless of how I set it up, I get a mobile IP address response error...

Hey QbKing, love your work. I just reverted from cm7 and Jokers OC 1.4G and Supercharger Battery Script. I've completely wiped the phone relocked the bootloader and am on 4.5.1A_SUN-154_5. I've tried 3 one click methods and after all success SU.apk does not appear and I don't have PM from app in market. Any advice? I'm a lil hungover from the game last night to figure it out. It's happened before, but I cant remember how I fixed it.

@Shabbypenguin There's actually 3. Root w/dock, when first root w/out dock hit I had downloaded nd had ben using it. Recently when it didn work I deleted nd used this method. I ended up solving my issue. I had recently recovered from a hard brick and had been having other issues as well, I dont recall wat I did, I fixed using fastboot cmd's to flush nd push. I've seen your work Shabby. I'v been following Jokers Cm9 thread onXDA. Running Exp12 now. iceCREAM my pants for ICe CreAmSandwich XD
