The horrible imbalance of items makes this game pretty unplayable without frustration against high computers. Skill means nothing if you're lucky enough.

It's unfair when the computer purposely stays behind, gets better items, stays on your ass all the time, and get hit by every item in seconds. Try playing the 150cc grand prix without getting hit. Nintendo did failed this one...this time you rely on pure dumb luck not skill like in other MK games

The most unlucky thing happened to me in this game! I was first, then a blue shell hit me, next came a red shell, and then I got flattened by another player, and a bullet bill came and knocked me off the stage! I ended up in 12th place!

the developers made the game so stuff like this can happen. they want it to feel like you're never safe and anything can happen. kinda like in the NFL blitz games where the tide can turn in a few seconds.

characters don't make a difference apart from the sizes, all large are the same all small are the same etc. spear with bowser, wario, etc would be the same as they are all large characters.

when do you all figure out, that mario kart wii is 100% imba-.- I dont get it. What are there for games, which are interesting on Wii? The Console gives nothing. Only boring games, and for what do i need virtual console? A N64 with Mario 64 and controller i get for 20€ incl shipping, and i pay 10€ only for the "virtual" game on wii. ummm its hard to get back but you can aand that was not the biggest thing of luck i saw.once i was in bowser's castle and they kept knocking me into the lava and then by my luck i was in 5th and someone shot a blue shell right in front of the finish line in 3rd lap and i passed from the explosion that knocked 1st-4th out!daaang that was hard.

If you use a light kart or bike (and even once it happened with yoshi) you often 'll get bumped off the track into the lava by heavy karts or anybody using a mushroom... and end up losing 150 vr :P
