One of the biggest reasons Skyrim is better on PC... SkyUI mod. :) Makes the inventory screens for items and magic spells much more manageable and you can sort stuff by price and weight too. They had to make the interface and everything in Skyrim friendly for consoles, and the default inventory screens are crap because of it.

Dude, I soooo had this dilemma for TWO DAYS. Then I searched my feelings and felt strongly about not buying Witcher 2 until I saw today's Steam sales. Well, it paid off because Skyrim is $20 off. So I was able to get Witcher 2 AND Skyrim. WIN!

I've made Morrowind look comparable in some ways to Skyrim and expanded the world because of Tamriel rebuild, with a whole lot of stuff. Made OBlivion into...Nevermind....
@DeathsUnholySpawn you can use a PS3 controller as well, a small $1 bluetooth dongle will pcik up wireless controllers, you can even use a N64 controller if you have an N64 to USB adaptor of ebay
I'm sticking with the 360 mainly because I enjoy the achievements and comparing them with my friends, along with the fact that the 2 first DLC's will be available 30 days early.
I absolutely love the PC graphics and the fact they're releasing the developers tools to PC users in January, but I can't get too far into the game before I open up the console and spawn 50 dragons and giants just for shits and giggles and ruin the game for myself.

PC is the superior platform for Skyrim. Let me explain in a hypothetical situation: You have a brand new computer that meets all of the requirements to run Skyrim on its highest settings with no trouble at all and you own a wired Xbox 360 controller and an HDMI cable, and you have a brand new Xbox 360. If you buy Skyrim for the PC, you will have better graphics, mod support, console access, and if you wanted, you could connect your PC to your TV and use the controller to keep the 360 experience.
Build your own PC. There's no need to get an alienware or some branded shit. Its shit overpriced. Also, no need to get some top end hardware some mid ranged ones would do. You dont need top end graphics, they're overkill to play a game.

Ah, but if PC gaming was done away with, then it would force people to improve consoles. Computers are for work, consoles are for gaming, so why are we trying to play at our work? Lets improve the console, which is for entertainment and nothing else, then we can stop the PC console argument and focus on improving gaming on a system designed to play games.
@TheBosstrain masses of money gets poured into console dev anyway. so really the market would only advance in 5 year jumps like the console market does at present. The PC market with its constant hardware and software advances is constant improvement. But why not argue it this way: PCs are essential for work so if we can get all of them to game well as well then people will be able to do both on one device saving them money and making it more continent. Also I don't find consoles entertaining.
@TheBosstrain That's not the whole picture although I can see why you'd think that. PCs are, from the get-go designed to do many things, be it gaming or downloading pr0n about monkeys and goats or w/e. Consoles on the other hand were and always were for gaming. We shouldn't expect them to do anything else (you don't expect your shoes to also play music).
The main selling point of the consoles is cheapness and local multiplayer. Not superb graphics or modularity.
@TheBosstrain Think of it like this. Consoles are the equivalent of a bus. It gets the job done very well, is cheap and you can bring with you as many people as you want (not really:P but you know...). You can't alter the bus in any way and you can't tell the driver where to drive.
PCs on the other hand are cars. You can buy any kind you like: a roomy, cheap one, or a supercar. It's up to you. And since it's yours, you can modify it any way you want to and drive it anywhere you want to, legally

@blareification you cant buy a 6ghz cpu. the 2600k will tend to max out at 5ghz on water cooling. Also I bet that for the price of 2 Xboxes (I know only 2 people that haven't had to buy a second after a red ring) and for the price of say 3 years Xbox live and the premium you pay on the games because they are on console you could get an amazing PC and the best thing is you can upgrade it.

This year I have bought 1 game. And I would say that the live may be a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Yes the game is incredible, honestly the Witcher 2 has much better visuals but Skyrim crushes it in scale and draw distance. Well worth the buy, Ill post some vids once I develop a bit more.

I'm almost positive that a team of modders will attempt to make a multiplayer addon for Skyrim. Unfortunately, if this happens we won't see it for a matter of at least 6 months plus.
i bought it on 360, but i so wish could've bought it on PC. i don't own a PC strong enough for Skyrim, and i just know i'm playing an inferior copy of the game. the engine chugs at times, theres screen tearing, a ton of pop in textures, and some textures are so bad, i think sometimes skyrim looks worse than how i remember oblivion looking. thats only because i'm playing it on 360, i'm sure the game runs as smooth as butter on PC. oh well, at least i get to play the game.
ugh I liked the video, and I loled hard at your reaction to the witcher 2 (fucking great game btw), but you do not have to have the latest damn parts to game on pc, this knowledge is always lost on the masses and fanboys. I have a computer from 2007 and I can play skyrim on medium at 42 fps, and low at 60+ fps, and low is the equivalent to consoles. Also gamepads are cheap to get now and there are plugins to emulate the 360 controller. I love consoles btw so no elitism here, I mean PS2 was boss.

its good on the console, unlike other games from this developer they really dumbed down the controls and removed a lot of the more complicated options, making it perfect as a console title, however as I own both platforms I am glad I bought it on the PC for the better graphics and future updates. If you own a PC, get it on the PC, but its also good on comsole.

With Oblivion I had the bad habit of modding too much, so in the end i ended up not playing the game at all, only modding --> I keep away from mods;) Besides my comp can't handle skyrim on high graphics so i might as well get it on 360, and so far it's absolutely the best game i've played in a looong time!
@voooooooos yeah its an awesome game, i just bought it today, I dnt mind mods, but I always make sure I play the vanilla game a lot first, I have a really high end PC, so I cant wait for the graphics mods to come out, if you saw how much they improved Oblivions graphics, i can only imagine whats possible with Skyrim.

Let me explain in a hypothetical situation: You have a brand new computer that meets all of the requirements to run Skyrim on its highest settings with no trouble at all and you own a wired Xbox 360 controller and an HDMI cable, and you have a brand new Xbox 360. If you buy Skyrim for the PC, you will have better graphics, mod support, console access, and if you wanted, you could connect your PC to your TV and use the controller to keep the 360 experience.

Build your own PC. There's no need to get an alienware or some branded shit. Its shit overpriced. Also, no need to get some top end hardware some mid ranged ones would do. You dont need top end graphics, they're overkill to play a game.

Ah, but if PC gaming was done away with, then it would force people to improve consoles. Computers are for work, consoles are for gaming, so why are we trying to play at our work? Lets improve the console, which is for entertainment and nothing else, then we can stop the PC console argument and focus on improving gaming on a system designed to play games.

@TheBosstrain masses of money gets poured into console dev anyway. so really the market would only advance in 5 year jumps like the console market does at present. The PC market with its constant hardware and software advances is constant improvement. But why not argue it this way: PCs are essential for work so if we can get all of them to game well as well then people will be able to do both on one device saving them money and making it more continent. Also I don't find consoles entertaining.

@TheBosstrain That's not the whole picture although I can see why you'd think that. PCs are, from the get-go designed to do many things, be it gaming or downloading pr0n about monkeys and goats or w/e. Consoles on the other hand were and always were for gaming. We shouldn't expect them to do anything else (you don't expect your shoes to also play music).
The main selling point of the consoles is cheapness and local multiplayer. Not superb graphics or modularity.

@TheBosstrain Think of it like this. Consoles are the equivalent of a bus. It gets the job done very well, is cheap and you can bring with you as many people as you want (not really:P but you know...). You can't alter the bus in any way and you can't tell the driver where to drive.
PCs on the other hand are cars. You can buy any kind you like: a roomy, cheap one, or a supercar. It's up to you. And since it's yours, you can modify it any way you want to and drive it anywhere you want to, legally

@TheBosstrain Lol, sorry for the post spam, but my point is this: wether PC gaming existed or not, consoles wouldn't 'improve". They are designed to be affordable (relatively speaking ofc, cough *fat PS3* cough) and as such, sacrifices such as imba graphics and reliability (Red ring of death, anyone?) have to be made in order to achieve that.
What they SHOULD do, imo is cut all those misc features like crappy console net browsers and devote that money for more reliable hardware or something...

I had to get a job delivering newspapers last year for a couple months before I had half the money I needed to get my Xbox, and I could understand if many people older than me with well paying jobs struggle to afford a nice gaming PC with 8GB of ram, a 6 GHz processor and a fancy graphics card.

@blareification you cant buy a 6ghz cpu. the 2600k will tend to max out at 5ghz on water cooling. Also I bet that for the price of 2 Xboxes (I know only 2 people that haven't had to buy a second after a red ring) and for the price of say 3 years Xbox live and the premium you pay on the games because they are on console you could get an amazing PC and the best thing is you can upgrade it.

This year I have bought 1 game. And I would say that the live may be a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. i bought it on 360, but i so wish could've bought it on PC. i don't own a PC strong enough for Skyrim, and i just know i'm playing an inferior copy of the game. the engine chugs at times, theres screen tearing, a ton of pop in textures, and some textures are so bad, i think sometimes skyrim looks worse than how i remember oblivion looking. thats only because i'm playing it on 360, i'm sure the game runs as smooth as butter on PC. oh well, at least i get to play the game.

ugh I liked the video, and I loled hard at your reaction to the witcher 2 (fucking great game btw), but you do not have to have the latest damn parts to game on pc, this knowledge is always lost on the masses and fanboys. I have a computer from 2007 and I can play skyrim on medium at 42 fps, and low at 60+ fps, and low is the equivalent to consoles. Also gamepads are cheap to get now and there are plugins to emulate the 360 controller. I love consoles btw so no elitism here, I mean PS2 was boss.

its good on the console, unlike other games from this developer they really dumbed down the controls and removed a lot of the more complicated options, making it perfect as a console title, however as I own both platforms I am glad I bought it on the PC for the better graphics and future updates. If you own a PC, get it on the PC, but its also good on comsole.

With Oblivion I had the bad habit of modding too much, so in the end i ended up not playing the game at all, only modding --> I keep away from mods;) Besides my comp can't handle skyrim on high graphics so i might as well get it on 360, and so far it's absolutely the best game i've played in a looong time!
