This is one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac and Judas Priest songs.Rob Halford is the prototype screamers in metal music. All other gret screamers like King Diamond and Bruce Dickinson owe Rob big time.
@podspd .... No kidding. I didn't believe it until I just checked their website. Unbelievable. I guess we can all be thankful for the 40+ years of K.K. Downing!
@LinkyHYC perfect !!!! maybe exiter but the setlist is perfect like that but i also prefer if they play daimonds and rust normal not half slow and fast but it was totally amazing
@LinkyHYC yeah i wasn't surpriesed because i had the setlist but i was reallyy amazing that they played night crawler !!!! i don't understand why these bands like maiden and priest are now much better than in the 80s or 90s the sound in 30 th anniversary British steel iss sooooo much better then the sound in unleashed in the east ! maybe its because we have now better recording systems but the guitars and the thor drum kit and also halfords voice sound much better (thats my opinion)
@MrLeon4646 Well, if you listen to the songs, they are tuned down, they are more grave than and if you listen to halford, he don't go as high as before...it's a bit different, and the drums have another sound that what they have in unleashed in the east for exemple...i prefer too nowadays thant before, but for some songs like the sentinel, halford was better before in my opinion :)
@MrLeon4646 Yeah, but I think that he sang painkiller way better this night than in Rising In The East, but painkiller has always been a song so fuckin' hard to sing...
@MrLeon4646 Well, even in 90/91, he was never able to sang it perfectly...And nowadays, well, he does the best he can, but it's really hard to sing this song, he's really giving everything he has during this song.
I love Rob but he knew he couldn't hit those high notes at the end anymore. To be fair, it was astonishing that he did in the first place. It was an incredible vocal performance, but still, fantastic band.
I saw Judas Priest in Terre Haute,Indiana 3 rows from the stage I will never forget singing You've Zgot Another Thing Coming with Rob Halford and him pointing at me and sayin You've Got Another Thing Coming and This song will go down as one of my favorites I have played this song for years
I actually remember watching this show back in 2006 on tv, and it was the very first time I was exposed to The Great judas priest!!!... And a few hours, and a lot of limewire song downloads later, I was hooked!!!... Too be honest man maybe I am a bit of a homophobe and called Judas Priest gay many a time before I even knew about Halford. The tacky guitar work, the leather and the long hair was never appealing to me. I am more of a Sabbath and Metallica kind of guy.
@Carthsgtr You probably wouldn't even be alive today if it weren't for your murderer/rapist grandgrandgrandfather or something like that got shipped of to Australia instead of being executed ^^ And your guitar video is so fucking horrible that I almost had to puke. Go home to your redneck ranch and eat cangaroos or what the fuck you people do down there ^^
Funny how you can't spell kangaroo. It's also amusing that you clearly don't know what Australia is. Less that 5 percent of Australia would be more than 5 percent convict blood. They don't have rednecks in Aus either dick sucker.
@Carthsgtr You have rapist genes and you know it. You suck at guitar and you know it! You're a rapist redneck that sucks alot at playing guitar. That would be the definition :)
@Carthsgtr Oh dear, grammar is obviously not high on your list, in Aus, we commonly name losers like you as a " FUCKWIT" As fucked up as your comments are, they are fuckin' hilarious as you seemed to finish school before you were 10!!!!!!!!! Talk about convicts you fuckin' piece of shit, Bon Scott woud puke all over you, you fuckin' loser, oh and what we do in Australia is to keep you fuckin' useless poms like yourself from coming to the Lucky Country you fuckin' dipshit
What the fuck are you talking about? You name losers like me "as" a fuckwit? I thought you were telling me that I was the one who couldn't construct a decent sentence. Clearly you can't read very well either as I just stated that I was Australian!
Well unfortunately I just can't bring myself to like a Judas Priest fan. I was unfortunately born with JudasPriestaregayia syndrome. Your other music choices are good.
Straight, gay, bi, who gives a rat's ass? What impact does it have on the music, and his performance? Priest has been a great band forever, and Halford is a great frontman and even better singer. If you have a problem with the band or his sexuality, don't listen to them and don't hang out on their YouTube pages. I'm sure there's a God Hates Fags event you can attend, where you'll find plenty of other hatemongering, homophobic neanderthals to cavort with.
A way to look at the issue of one band covering another is that it may make fans of one (Judas Priest) dig up the original (Fleetwood Mac/Peter Green)& that's good. And as far as Rob Halford's sexuality, how could that possibly make a difference as to how great a vocalist he is? Or how intelligent or decent a man he is? Need to move out of the dark ages and learn a little tolerance for people who are different from you. There are kids taking their own lives because of this hate.
@Jameswilliam1982 If puffing the peter pipe powers Robs voice, then puff on my brother, because he is friggin amazing!!!What does his sexual preference have to do with being a bad ass rock metal powerhouse?Hey if you are homophobe, see a phych.......
Holy Shit! Bassist Ian Hill does NOT look like he has aged a single day for nearly 30+ years with the band. Must be good clean living & vitamins.
I liked Dave Holland but this drummer rocks as well!
And why are fucktards worried about Rob's sexual proclivities? You morons that bored with your own pathetic lives that you feel justified to criticize him over it? Well gee, he's a mega superstar & a house hold name; you're not. Okay that explains it.
As an interpretation of the classic Fleetwood Mac song it's terrific. It may also have been a benevolent gesture to Peter Green. If so, that is a beautiful and noble thing
What it may lack is artistic credibility. All the Priest members suck the knob of the green manalishi. The real story behind this song lies a tragic genius in Peter Green. Priest's version does no justice to the profound disgust Green felt for money
@set2light, I think you are overanalyzing this. I'm not saying that your point isn't valid or that your opinion are wrong. What I think is; its Judas Priest, they got hold of the song and its metall at its best. I think, leave it at that. A really heavy and rockin' song. Cheers
@set2light It wasn't money Peter Green hated it was GREED but of course money comes into that somewhere. He used to send his royalty cheques back to his solicitor . The amounts would make him feel that he had become what he had hated
for so long. It is a very bad feeling when you realise that you have become what you have hated and the longer it takes the worse it feels !! People with that sort of awareness are very rare on this planet !!
@set2light if u ever went up and read on it it was a tribute 2 peter green they actualy used over half the things peter green did distorted it and made it more heavy . it just depends on what u like if u like bluesy version better or the heavier metal 1
It says a lot about the quality of a band when everybody's favorite represents a different era of said band. Priest did so much in the late 70s and early 80s that their influence in practically incalculable. Every album was a major influence.

Who gives a fuck about Rob's business? Watch Biography if you are into that shit. This man is the greatest voice to scream metal. Listen to Point of Entry, specifically, Desert Plains and the voice. I became a hard core fan of Priest growing up in the new wave 80's. Used to get ridiculed for it. Wore my concert tee under my collared shirt.(Cathelic school) and was proud of my music. It helped me grow into a successful tough man. Thanks to all Metal.
Just saw Rob " The Metal God " Halford open for Ozzy last week. It was my 9th time to see him, with and with out Priest, and he still has the greatest voice the metal world has ever heard. I don't give a shit if he is gay, purple, alien or whatever the fuck, simply put, he is THE voice.
@Themetalgod1000 Wait...Halford is a gay, purple alien? WTF! :) I'm glad you posted your comment--damn straight and right on! Who cares what he is/does, his IS the voice of heavy metal!
I've seen both Preist (1986 & 90) and Maiden (1986 & 2010) and I don't know which is better. All are true muscians. Both Halford and Dickenson are human sirens. I'll just have to be content that growing up a metal fan in the 80's was the greatest. My parents didn't like Preist's take on "Jonny B. Goode," but they admitted that each artist has a right to put their own spin on a cover, if for no other reason to differentiate it from the original, They also said JP rocked!
Three of the most influential humans to ever to walk the earth. Augustus Caesar , Alexander of Macedonia and Jesus of Nazareth two of them were at the least bisexual. To label ones sexuality as important only shows the narrow mindedness of the boob who thinks it important. If you like to fuckin' rock, Halford does it like no other. Who cares if he bangs dudes. Get over it.

I like the priests preaching their version, especially on the Live DVD from the 1986 Dallas concert, with Rob´s high notes. But: Scott Travis appears to be the better drummer to me, building a powerful + reliable Rhythm section with Ian Hill.
Two lead guitars going through a constant battle, thats it.
They made it a song of their own, a polished uptempo rocker, that will remain one of my favorites.
@DickHertz247 Thank You for the props to Peter Green your comment here is very intuitive and I respect your liking it in a faster tempo and your right Judas Priest does it there way and have crafted it into somthing totally differnt the PG version is alltogether differnt when I play this I allmost cant stop like it puts you in a trance. This is a very powerfull song.I think its great we have a forum like this to listen and discuss the music thats important to our existance.
Thinking about the circumstances of this songs "genesis", one will find that PG was going through some stormy waters, and however, he captured some limit experience in it. Otherwise we wouldn´t have this one now.
Therefore it is much more deserving having composed a song than having created a - very well done and completely different - cover.
With the right stuff by my side, or even without, I might get into PG+FMac´s source as well. But before I have to do some homework...
@cjf799You know what your talking about most of the "fans" dont even know its a cover .part of the problem is these people are to young to remember there was a Fleetwood Mac before Nicks and Buckingham and there made for radio music.Peter Green was taking The Mac into new realms of music its just very unfortunate what happened to him that ended is creativityThey played this song for over 4 and a half hours at the filmore east Peter Greens version gets in your head and stays with you
@cjf799 Black Magic Woman is a perfect example most people would bet there eyes that it was all Santana. Those two played together recently and did that song and I have to admit Carlos put a special touch on it that it should be all his.
@nevets0910 Fuck you little punk you were not even a cumshot when this was new what the fuck do you know about it just some pussy hiding behind a monitor talking tough LOL your a fucking joke good luck in your pathetic life
@19thSFGA so you're acting tough by talking shit but you ain't making no point by saying that Priest "made a sad rip-off"... it's a cover not a rip-off fucking idiot!
I'm not so sure about the Ming the Merciless look that Bob's sporting now, but Kerry King of Slayer looks that way too now. It's the Stone Cold Steve Austin/Tank Abbot look! Does it mean society is coming to an end?Actually Bob H. is looking sort of like Pinhead with a goatee.
Rob may be gay but he is a humble host. I lived in Phoenix for 10 years and after Surgical Steel finished playing at a bar in Tempe, he would have parties and invite a group of people over. Didnt know at the time and I dont care now...
No issues and LOTS of women :) Great musician and great band..
Not bad for a song that's been around for what? Close to about 40 years? Always love this version. Must say though, the song was from when Fleetwood Mac were best, pre-commercial.
You forgot parental guidance and united.

By the way, it's 2011.

@62porcupine Well said dude! And as far as people looking for the original,it can be found right here on you tube! \../ The Metal God!!!!

@Jameswilliam1982 If puffing the peter pipe powers Robs voice, then puff on my brother, because he is friggin amazing!!!What does his sexual preference have to do with being a bad ass rock metal powerhouse?Hey if you are homophobe, see a phych.......
hockeytim64 1 year ago
Okay that explains it.

set2light sounds so eloquent ...i wonder...?
clocktime11 1 year ago
I'm in 2 minds about this version
As an interpretation of the classic Fleetwood Mac song it's terrific. It may also have been a benevolent gesture to Peter Green. If so, that is a beautiful and noble thing
What it may lack is artistic credibility. All the Priest members suck the knob of the green manalishi. The real story behind this song lies a tragic genius in Peter Green. Priest's version does no justice to the profound disgust Green felt for money
How do you guys feel about this?
set2light 1 year ago
@set2light, I think you are overanalyzing this. I'm not saying that your point isn't valid or that your opinion are wrong. What I think is; its Judas Priest, they got hold of the song and its metall at its best. I think, leave it at that. A really heavy and rockin' song. Cheers
Blackers99 1 year ago
@set2light It wasn't money Peter Green hated it was GREED but of course money comes into that somewhere. He used to send his royalty cheques back to his solicitor . The amounts would make him feel that he had become what he had hated
for so long. It is a very bad feeling when you realise that you have become what you have hated and the longer it takes the worse it feels !! People with that sort of awareness are very rare on this planet !!
domnal 1 year ago

Themetalgod1000 1 year ago

Get over it.

judasmaster5 1 year ago
I like the priests preaching their version, especially on the Live DVD from the 1986 Dallas concert, with Rob´s high notes. But: Scott Travis appears to be the better drummer to me, building a powerful + reliable Rhythm section with Ian Hill.
Two lead guitars going through a constant battle, thats it.
They made it a song of their own, a polished uptempo rocker, that will remain one of my favorites.
Much Respect to PG + FMac, but I like it fast.
DickHertz247 1 year ago 12
@DickHertz247 Thank You for the props to Peter Green your comment here is very intuitive and I respect your liking it in a faster tempo and your right Judas Priest does it there way and have crafted it into somthing totally differnt the PG version is alltogether differnt when I play this I allmost cant stop like it puts you in a trance. This is a very powerfull song.I think its great we have a forum like this to listen and discuss the music thats important to our existance.
19thSFGA 1 year ago
@19thSFGA

@19thSFGA Green is The Sid Barett of Fleetwood Mac and yes this and Black magic woman are forgotten covers by a great artist

@cjf799 Black Magic Woman is a perfect example most people would bet there eyes that it was all Santana. Those two played together recently and did that song and I have to admit Carlos put a special touch on it that it should be all his.
