  • Where is Love" is from the musical "Oliver !"

  • miss february i would have loved to see that

  • SOMETIMES, I FIND MYSELF DRIVING TO NEWPORT RHODE ISLAND,VISITING THE BIG MANSIONS JUST LOOKING AROUND THINKING THIS IS WHERE THE COWSILLS BEGAN...WHILE LISTENING TO THE COWSILLS GREATEST HITS.....THE NEWPORT RHODE ISLAND AREA IS STILL FILLED WITH THOSE HAPPY TIMES....THEY WERE THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN ON THE SOUTH COAST OF NEW ENGLAND......

  • where did that guy in the orange jumpsuit looking like chuck berry come from to dance with susan? Then he diaappears on stage!!!???? i olve watching susan dance, she was cute.

  • It IS unscripted?

  • Awesome song!!

  • Class.

  • Billy, Barry, Barbara and Bud Cowsill are all missed but they live on because of fans, You Tube, the internet and Susan, Bob, Paul and John still perform. Rock on Cowsills!

  • I loved this song "Where is love". Does anyone know if it was recordeb by The Cowsills?

  • I think Barbara had an absolutely lovely singing voice. It reminds me a little of my mother, may she and Barbara both rest in peace.

  • What are those guitars each is playing?!?

  • 2 by 2 is one of my favorite songs of all time, joedeech don't confuse gritty with stretching. I think Barry did a wonderful job on this tune. Susan obviously had the rythm in her, poor thing just couldn't stand still for a moment lol. ty for the vid

  • i agree dennis! barry did great. i was wondering the other version on utube is from the same show but seems to be dubbed with barry twice and sounds alot better although this is great too. who did the dubbed version??

  • weird is right! the all american family with mr sleaze-dirty old man mr playboy. mrs c better keep a good watch on susan around hugh. so a cowsill married a bunny? wtf. oh well... say, how many weeks did that marriage last? anyway, i loved the music anyway!!!!

  • Bit of a weird show I did'nt get the joke Susan did at first . But I get the music , Barbara and Susan truly beautiful song , and Barry was totally brilliant on two by two . Thanks for posting . BobCfav

  • Okay, I see four brothers. The keyboardist didn't get a little big of the spotlight. Damn, camera handler!!!

  • I hate to say this but Barry's voice is stretching a bit on ii x ii

  • Mrs. C had a gorgeous voice.

  • I just notice the 'where is love' refrain is sung by the guitarist (forgot his name, sorry) and I was looking wildly where that high voice came from.

  • Or was it Barry singing as I just noticed he's seated and holding a microphone.

  • Yeah, I think it was Bob. He sang some of the higher parts. He also sang with Barbara in the studio when she was too shy.

  • Thanks for the info, LibertyBelle1979. I found out about the Cowsills quite late. Wow, talent, versatility, and flavor. They could have kept making more music if only things did happen the way they did. They're one of the reasons why I bought a guitar.

  • You're welcome! Well, I found out late, too. But it's never too late to appreciate great music. They are fantastic and if you ever get a chance to see them perform live you will be so pleased. They are also very kind people!

  • : )

  • what was the name of this show? did hugh hefner have a regular TV show back in the day? Susan may have made a great miss february had you given her about 5 years or so

  • He had a show called "Playboy After Dark." This is obviously from that.

  • If I haven't said so before let me do so now. I only ever heard their famous song and never knew anything beyond that let alone seeing them. I was born in 1968. I must say they are just fantastic!

  • Wow, The Cowsills and Hugh Heffner?!

Thanks like mixing Leave it to Beaver with Sid Vicious!

  • Or the Brady Bunch with Charles Manson.

  • What happened to Billy?

Evidence of his musical journey up north can be found by searching YouTube for The Blue Shadows; a country rock group founded by Billy in the mid 90's.

    Quality stuff!

  • saw Bob and John perform in Studio City last saturday. AWESOME!

  • the family is so talented and real.... unlike the BS we have today.......

  • I think I just saw Barbie Benton

  • Wheres the BUNNY'S??

  • they had a song that I think is called"finally

on my side"which is one of my favorites.I think they did it on this show.anybody got a copy?

  • I have a copy of the single and the album "On My Side". There is no video of a performance of that song that I know of.

  • Susan is amazing. I love to watch her dance but didn't realize she had such a good voice too. In fact I was surprised at what great musicians they all are. I think Susan could have been the focal point of the band and carried it but they are all so good it doesn't really matter.

  • Barbara Cowsill had the most gorgeous singing voice! I wish there was more available on her singing solo. She made a few studio demos, but John Cowsill has said those are put away among family belongings and will never be released. Among Barbara's lead vocal releases with "The Cowsills" are the songs, "The Bridge", "The Cruel War" and a really terrific song written by Bob, Paul & Barry called, "There Is a Child". God Bless You, Mini Mom!

  • The cowsills are coming back to western canada. Oct 24 at the Deerfoot Casino in Calgary, AB and Oct 25 at the Dakota Dunes Casino in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

  • This is wonderful, individually they sound so beautiful, especially Barbara. She is as good as Shirley Jones. Im glad this video was posted.

  • there wacky

  • The Cowsills are coming to Casino Regina on Sept 5 and the Mae Wilson Theatre in Moose jaw on Sept 6.

  • Wow.... God Bless'm!

  • The Cowsills are playing with Jay And The Americans at The palace Theatre in Marion, Ohio. Its a beautiful old theatre and its less than one hour from Columbus.

  • cowsills were fantastic 7-28-08 at bb kings in nyc. they sing better now than they did in the 60s. wonderful show.

  • going to see The Cowsills tomorrow (Monday July 28) at BB Kings NYC. Can't wait.

  • I said I wasn't going to dignify these silly critisms, however some are you folks are just mean. That little girl, Susan was wonderful for her age.Who cares if there's a "sour" note here, and there? These people were so bloody talented it's incredible.I'd REALLY love to hear these "critics" do better? Any takers? I bet you won't.Sssssssssssssssssssssss

  • @beatletattoo TOTALLY agree with you...thanks:)

  • I think this is one of the few "live" videos of them from the old days and its nice to know they sound pretty credible live. Live music is always a hard task for any band.

  • Boy do YOU have a tin ear. These people are the most talented ever. You're obviously not a musician, so what do YOU know?SSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssss

  • There were a number of off key notes. "Where is Love" is a tough song to sing.

  • I was 12 back then and had a crush on Susan. Angela Cartwright and Susan Cowsill. Ended up with neither. Cowsills were under rated. Loved them back then. I've gotten over Susan. Still love the music.

  • We love The Cowsills.

  • I have tickets to see the Cowsills (Paul, Susan & Bob) at BB Kings in NYC. Its on July 28. Can't wait.

  • I just saw Susan and her brothers Bob and Paul at Ram's Head Annapolis, MD 5/23/08. They are better than ever. Her husband is on drums and her nephew (Bob's son)is on keyboards. Bass player was no relation. I talked to then after the show and all are doing well. I had never seen them live after all these years until now. Always knew how talented they all are though.

  • man, i never realized how good and strong the mom's voice was. she had pipes. good song choice from Oliver.

    tnks 4 posting this.

  • rocking the fuzz..man..that guitar sounded great.

  • I can't take my eyes off the little one! I wonder what she's up to now...she was obviously born to boogie!

  • Susan Cowsill is fronting her own band, based out of New Orleans. She has music posted on You Tube. Search her.

  • Thank you, but you'll note I posted this A YEAR AGO. I'm no longer that interested.

  • their performance of 2x2 is mind blowing - way better than the record version.

  • This is so great!Remember this performance well.I agree,The Cowsills belong in the rock hall of fame.

  • is that barbi benton on hef's arm? what a life. I'll bet susan would have made a great "Miss februrary" after she turned 18. HIT - hottie in training

  • Mesmerizing. I could write forever about the Cowsills...Barbara's duties were usually backup, but when brought to the fore, yes she shone! Her calm, cool delivery just has a way of taking you home. And ***5*** stars to Susan, my fave. It's hard to describe. Youth is so fleeting. This vid captures an excellent look at her while she was peaking as a Cowsill. Happily out front. Beyond cute. Confident. Not shy. Her natural style. I'm melting. And II X II rocks, brothers and sisters! justbelieveit!

  • Barbara was a fantastic singer! kewl. thanks. Love the Cowsills.

  • I have been trying to find this song for years...THANK YOU

  • Man, they were amazing. And Barbara...what a wonderful voice. This kind of talent isn't seen often in a whole family and even more so today when we seem to be celebrating mediocrity. Love this true "Family Band".

  • Barbara Cowsill really shines here. What an awesome vocalist! A really beautiful voice she has! What a shame that her great talent largely went unnoticed. There are unreleased demos she made, but John Cowsill told me, in answer to a post I addressed to him at The Cowsills Website, that those tapes are safely tucked away somewhere and will probably never see the light of day.

  • Wow! Haven't seen this video before. Thanks for posting. I've already signed the petition.

  • I've had the pleasure of hearing Barry sing that several years ago in a small venue and as a "gift" to a friend for her birthday. Not an easy song to sing then or now. He didn't sing it often. I'll never forget that night. I'll never forget him. I was a fan who became a friend of his since 2000. A great talent in many ways. Sadly missed forever.

  • don't forget billy too.

  • put them in the hall of fame ..(rock) sign petition at the cowsill site web

  • already signed it. does no good.

  • lets put them in the hall of fame (rock)

  • Wonderful,awsome group

  • It should be suitable.. IIxII was written by Bill Cowsill under the pseudonym "David Ray".. And by the way.. It looks to me Bob has a bit of an underbite, too.

  • I think that song suited Barry quite well.

  • maybe your right. i suppose it suited them all.

  • never realized this before. But Barry has a slight lisp. and underbite. I see this in other videos with him.

  • Hey Harmony, So what? Underbite, overbite or even a mosquito bite...Sheesh...Wouldn't matter to me if he had 9 toes on each foot! Still fantastic music, isn't it? When I was playing the Cowsills music cd's like crazy all last summer in my car, you'd be surprised how many new Cowsills fans I subsequently got to listen, embrace & enjoy all the Cowsills music.

  • Umm, no he didn't. He was awesome! And he's very much missed. The Cowsills will always be fantastic, though!

  • says you.

  • Damn straight "says me!" They were AWESOME Saturday night even though we couldn't actually see them because of the crush of the crowd. Anyone named "HarmonyToAll" should know tight harmonies when they hear it...unless there is a tin ear involved, of course.
