I went to this concert and it was great!!! The soprano, Sara Macliver has such a beautiful voice and the tenor, Christopher Saunders was incredible. I saw him at a Schubert concert a few months ago. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I once read that when Handel wrote "Hallelujah," he wanted a special sound--something majestic to add to the piece. He didn't know exactly what that "something" should be. When it was performed before King George II, His Majesty was so moved that he stood up. His subjects also rose, as protocol demanded, and the sound of the audience standing produced an effect like the rustling of angels' wings. Ever since, it has been a tradition to stand whenever "Hallelujah" is performed.
The combine chorus in my old school was going to sing this song for our Christmas concert, but we got snowed out, and I'm orginally an alto but the chorus I was in we all have to sing soprano. We have two all women chorus and a all men chorus and a concert chorus, but you have to audition for it though.
I don't believe that their is an age to join. Just an appreciation of music, and be able to read music. Rehearsals are at Hale School on Thursday evenings.

This is such a good choir!! I want to join, but I think I'm a bit young. Does anyone know how old you have to be to join?
