I got my first Transition haircut there in the Castro at Joe's Barbershop. They were so welcoming to me there. And I miss Orphan Andy's, even if it DOES have exorbitant prices and is perpetually overcrowded. Everything ABOUT the Castro just is so perfect... I even miss the corner Subway, which is inevitably where we wind up eating on a dime.

My wife and I got married in San Fran (pre-prop 8)- we went walking in the Castro afterwards in our wedding dresses, and had drinks at Harvey's. I'll never forget it as long as I live. We can't wait to go back.
