Think about it he flew around the world and that has a big emotional effect on a person. flying does change you emotionally for ever. Seeing the whole world from an aircraft must make you feel emotionally changed and feel like you have done it all and seen everything even though you don't see things in as great detail at high altitude but you get my point. Wherever he is i'm sure he got the feeling he had seen the whole world from above. flying can emotionally effect people badly
I think that Mr. Fossett very likely could have suffered a major medical event (heart attack, stroke, for instance) that could have incapacitated him. That would explain the crash. His aviation skills were so excellent that it seems hard to beleive any other scenario.
Coyotes are scavengers as well as mountain lions, bears. Some bodyparts left and the reason they found the money and id cards is because animals- coyote most likely- took the wallet if it's leather. Look at how the id card is chewed on one end. RIP Steve.
That's good...rich scumbags like this guy think they own everything and everyone including their own fate. His "friends" are the same way. It's all about how many toys can I have...F him
I heard that someone found the plane wreckage and some ID cards and even a fleece sweater that had animal hair on it as well as human hair. I'm suspecting Fossett got devoured by an animal and threw out his ID before he died. I'm eager to know what happened to him. The fact that people think he faked his death makes no sense, he had a billion $ in his bank account, now why would someone not want to enjoy that money for retirement?
Coyotes will take the wallet if it's leather. You can see the id card looks chewed on.
Happened to my dad in the Sierras not far from where Fossets plane was found. He lost his wallet while snowmobiling near Beasore Meadows and the next day we went up to look for it as it had 700 bucks cash in it. Found all the cash on the road, minus the wallet, which was leather.
quick: i guarantee hes still alive under a different alias. you dont give up after 2.5 months...
At 8:45 am, on Monday, September 3, 2007, Fossett took off in a single-engine Bellanca Super Decathlon airplane from a private airstrip known as Flying-M Ranch ..
On November 26, 2007, Fossett's wife requested that Fossett be declared legally dead
my opinion is that they are trying to get more money.
There have been many rumors lately about Steve venturing into restricted airspace (such as 'Area 51'), and being forced to land, or worse! Nothing is impossible, but what is the likelihood of this?
Hahahahah Morons....they are trying to find him on google earth. Google earths images have not been updated in like a year! Good luck finding him BEFORE he even went missing lmfao.
Google is requesting updated satellite imagery specifically for the purpose of the search. The images being looked over by search and rescue teams are not the same images you and I can see via Google Earth.
this only proves that pilots must have a better understanding of the use of the crash locator beacon.
they should have remote switches to trigger them of prio to crashing.. no one seems to think this is important. Either steve is dead, kidnapped or hidding.
Hell I'd like to get out of dying going 800 mph on the land.
EVERY adventurer who ventures into wilderness or desert territory should have a small, portable, battery or solar powered Ham Radio HF transceiver with him! Do a google search for Yaesu, Icom, or Kenwood to see such radios. Ham Radio saves lives, and oftentimes, they will work when beacons don't.
i think onboard of the Bellanca Super Decathlon airplane fossett was flying there was not much or not a survival kit ! after 4 days without drinking water dehydrated humans die soon
If Fossett is still alive, he may regret not having any portable Ham Radio equipment with him, in order to transmit his location and condition! I'm afraid that a small transmitter in his watch might not cut it. I hope he is found soon- he's an amazing human being!

Fossett is alive and living in South America under an assumed name because the dude was fluent in Spanish.
Even Richard Branson says it's true and they are best friends.

By the way, how come he didn't carry a cellphone or some device that would help find him?

mayamimimi if Fossett had overdosed on heroin you wouldn't complain.
But for some reason his having done something with his life offends you.

Steve Fossett faked the crash in order to meet space aliens. He's now on route to the world of the Grays to negotiate a peace treaty.
I hope he succeeds.
