The fighters in those clips looked like rabbits caught in headlights, everything that muay thai/kickboxing teaches went completely out of the window and both fighters flailed uncontrollably in a blind panic.. Watch the UK fights before making your dumb assumptions about how we English spar in competition.

It's headgear, not armor, and the guy ducked (unsuccessfully) and took a round house to the head that had lots of leverage (since he was kicking low). I've done the same to a short opponent while sparring. Not a big deal and just reminds you to keep your hands up and NOT duck a round house.
