It's headgear, not armor, and the guy ducked (unsuccessfully) and took a round house to the head that had lots of leverage (since he was kicking low). I've done the same to a short opponent while sparring. Not a big deal and just reminds you to keep your hands up and NOT duck a round house.

Head gear doesn't stop a knock out it was designed to cut down on second impact syndrome when the fighter is knocked out and his head hit the canvas. Congratulations to the fighter in his victory!
