my pop worked at fords in the engine plant for 43 years and he has helped me re build my mini yeah its a mini! in his work shop kinder handy having the mil and lathe among other specialist equipment but id love to get more involved with it all. one day it will be sitting in my 8 car work shop and ill be handing the knowledge down to my grand son.
i thought i knew almost everything there was to know about motors till i want there. they set the standard to for the world of high performance motor building schools.
i would categroize it as one of the best experiences of my entire life! no kidding not blowing it out of proportion. i took the block and head class. signed up for the cnc class but it wasnt built in time. the owner (jud) is one of the coolest and most knowledable guys you will ever meet. and if you ever have a question no matter how hard or dumb it might be anyone is willing to help you out with it or answer it for you. i will back sam till the day i die!
man if your going to go it alone you better have a sheet of accomplishment to back you up. and yes they do but you gotta go to a pri show and at the dinner you go and mingle with all the reps. we had one guy land a job with i think some connecting rod company i forget. so in that sense yes you do help you find a job. i never really went up to linda or jud and pushed them to find me a job. sorry if there is anything i missed
