Nice I have owned firebirds in the past- Just bought my first ls1 ws6 a month ago, I LOVE IT, - trying to figure out what gear ratio to run- getting ready to buy turnkey ls1 with auto tranny and ecm- out of a 2000- so i can have one on a stand ;-) figuring out what rear end I want at the moment.

@heymane2 If you're keeping it motor or nitrous throw a 4.11 rear gear in it. DEFINITELY get a 9". The stock 10 bolt is honestly the biggest piece of shit I've seen in my life in a semi sports car like an LS1 F Body. People may suggest a 12 bolt, those are somewhat of a temporary fix before you switch to a 9"... durability wise you're going to want to pickup a 9". 9" > 12 bolt > homemade read end > stock 10 bolt. Build/stall it your auto because an untouched 4L60 is nothin special. Good luck!!!

I paid less than $8k for the red car and have less than $15 in my white car, both mid 9 sec cars now. You can build a low sec mustang for less than that. Plus I did bikes years ago and they really didnt do anything for me(had a low 9 sec. CBR). If you like bikes thats great, I like "semi-fast"street cars that I can load the kids/wife in and go where I want when I want,not something ride a few times a year. Not to mention the MANY liter bikes I've killed in the street,prolly converted a few!LOL!

@NOSJNKY you cant compare bikes to cars, cause a 9 sec car will cost you around 10k and a 9 second bike will cost you around 2k, and those "bikes" you killed in the streets were all 600's driven by ametaurs. Go up against some 1000's and see how you do.

Its more difficult and you can take more pride in making a car go this fast. Plus its a lot of fun piling your friends or family in the car and still being able to pick apart people when you want to. I could go watch bike video's and tell them I'd show them the honeycombs on my WS6 all day if I want, but I have respect for people and their preferred hobby than that.

That trans is sick btw. Mines only clickin mid 10's on my 383 LS1 all motor.

But who cares about a stock bike OR car. Anybody can go buy a stock bike for nothing(right now esp.)and run what a stock bike will run(rider limited), no fun in that. The red car is a STOCK headed(243 cast.) 3500lb. LS1 with no power adder(in this vid)and drag radials, it does have a little nitrous on it now. Everything comes down to power/weight so the car/bike thing can be argued until the end of time. If I had a bike now a 9 sec timeslip would not satisfy me at all, but thats just me.

Not really, her daily driven WS6 is faster than that with AC,cruise, and gets 20+ mpg AND it weighs 3890lb.s.

This video is pretty old, the same car is over a second and a half faster now.

BTW Got PLENTY of friends with low 8 sec busa's so a 9 sec one really isnt IMpressive anymore. Welcome to 2008.
