@CompactJam I have yet to watch this movie so idk how far they stretch this idea but this lifestyle isn't a fantasy. I am in my early 20s but I was able to catch a bit of this lifestyle before it was completely gone when I spent summers in the countryside of Jamaica. The Rastafarians, fishermen and the farmers lived in a very simple way and they were content.  Jamaica is really westernized now so idk if people in the countryside still carry this laid back vibe. I wish I appreciated it more.

Those people you are talking about are struggling to by cooking oil and engine parts. They don't have big fat fish and fruit to just waste on American tourists who don't even want to leave their gated communities anyway. Tourists get robbed in Jamaica by desperate people not treated like kings because they're not kings at all. This film is bllsht

@porropolo Country is giving his guest asylum from the Jamaican military and police who are attempting to capture them after crashing the plane with the weapons cargo. The girl was worried about their situation where Country uses an analogy of a Snapper fish. The fish is caught by the traps of the local fisherman there and the fish will live in that trap, catching other little fish to feed that bigger snapper. The snapper will grow bigger while the trap gets weaker until the trap simply breaks.

So in essence, he is telling them not to worry cause cause God (Jah) is in control of their situation and to relax.

Country goes on to say "When it (the trap) is just so, you must do." Meaning that when the trap is about to break, you go and harvest the fish from it.

This involves constant attention by the fisherman to observe the fishpot over time and to judge when it will break. Country is describing the need to wait for the ideal time to act.

(P.S. - there was no weapons cargo; the JDF Colonel invented it to garner support for his plot to disrupt the election.) Peace.

Sounds to me like he says "Well this just so, you must do" as in "And this is precisely what you will do";

He isn't talking about harvesting fish from traps. He mentions at the beginning of the parable that the traps that are cast wind up catching fish, but that the traps are lost to the fishermen by undersea currents.

The fish is never caught by the fisherman nor does it succumb to the trap. The fish waits patiently and eventually escapes.
