Those foods& the Ganga ,and the sea air would cure a seriously ill patient ,who was terminal!!!! What an amazing scene of togetherness ,and anti-racism. .Love this flick .Almost as good as Rockers!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a hollywood fantasy film about a lifestyle that never existed or happened. It's just bullshit like all films. Dracula doesn't exist either and neither does Lassie.
@CompactJam I have yet to watch this movie so idk how far they stretch this idea but this lifestyle isn't a fantasy. I am in my early 20s but I was able to catch a bit of this lifestyle before it was completely gone when I spent summers in the countryside of Jamaica. The Rastafarians, fishermen and the farmers lived in a very simple way and they were content. Jamaica is really westernized now so idk if people in the countryside still carry this laid back vibe. I wish I appreciated it more.
@jcool411 Yes I'm sure they do live simple lives, some of which may be fruitful, but even they wouldn't recognise the fantastic events displayed here. Those people you are talking about are struggling to by cooking oil and engine parts. They don't have big fat fish and fruit to just waste on American tourists who don't even want to leave their gated communities anyway. Tourists get robbed in Jamaica by desperate people not treated like kings because they're not kings at all. This film is bllsht
@jabmalassie In your dreams. Films are exciting because they depict events that are far more interesting or exciting than reality. Please understand that this is just hollywood trash. Most Americans that visit Jamaica live in gated communities because they would get robbed if they left. Furthermore they have no interest in witnessing the squalor many JA citizens are forced to live in. Dream on
@jabmalassie Yeah and England is full of gentlemen in bowler hats the French all have stripey shirts and eat onions. The Americans are all cowboys and own horses and Germans are all nazis wearing steel helments and every australian has a boomerang. Grow up. I want to believe in fairy tales too bad sadly reality forbids it.
What you teach da yout today Jahman... This is a classic long time big time and all time. If you aint seen it then make the time and pass it on, love daddy..
@porropolo Country is giving his guest asylum from the Jamaican military and police who are attempting to capture them after crashing the plane with the weapons cargo. The girl was worried about their situation where Country uses an analogy of a Snapper fish. The fish is caught by the traps of the local fisherman there and the fish will live in that trap, catching other little fish to feed that bigger snapper. The snapper will grow bigger while the trap gets weaker until the trap simply breaks.
Country goes on to say "When it (the trap) is just so, you must do." Meaning that when the trap is about to break, you go and harvest the fish from it.
This involves constant attention by the fisherman to observe the fishpot over time and to judge when it will break. Country is describing the need to wait for the ideal time to act.
(P.S. - there was no weapons cargo; the JDF Colonel invented it to garner support for his plot to disrupt the election.) Peace.
Sounds to me like he says "Well this just so, you must do" as in "And this is precisely what you will do";
He isn't talking about harvesting fish from traps. He mentions at the beginning of the parable that the traps that are cast wind up catching fish, but that the traps are lost to the fishermen by undersea currents.
The fish is never caught by the fisherman nor does it succumb to the trap. The fish waits patiently and eventually escapes.
Lots of stoner action, and laughter. I kinda got sick watching them eat all those types of food. I bet somebody barfed.
So the lesson is that we are all like fish in a trap. We eat the weaker fish and break from the trap. But now we have these stoner coughs and probably lung cancer.
I saw Countryman years ago on a late night show called Nightflight, just so happened to have a tape handy & loved this scene so much we about wore the tape out! Showed it to many, many people who all loved it too!
@mikewalker2233 he said sometimes the fish gets stuck in the trap, and the trap cathes other fish, the fish eats them other fish and gets stong, and then breaks the trap and goes free - just like them with him - "so let us eat"
undermislengteng, buuny wailer came from the group that was called The Wailers before they split up,and the group was consisted of himself,Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.after the split up everyone took their own way and Bob Marley stayed and from then on the group was called Bob Marley and The Wailers...do your homework

Snapper, young coconut, soursop, breadfruit, papaya (green and ripe), rock lobster, lime, peppers, hard meat coconut, sweet potato, an Ganja, you almost need nothing else! Live your life, love your life, Share what is there to be shared! One Love, an Aloha!
God Made Man to tend his garden and keep it clean , and harvest vegetables and herbs . Not to eat the rotten flesh of animals. Fish and shellfish seem to be acceptable to eat. I remember there seemed to be consumption of eggs as well. But 5 will get you 10 If the goat eats the Ganja the Goat is for dinner.
Another song that made this movie too, was one of the songs at the end of the movie. It was called "Dreadlocks in Moonlight", written by Lee "Scratch" Perry. Be good if that one was on Youtube. This one is great, but I love that song and "Rastaman Chant" the most from the soundtrack.
