  • Did you hear the bird?

    He scream: Allahu akbar!!!

  • SpamzoRogue is right. This is a BaE Hawk and not an F-16. F-16 has a 'bitchin' betty' voice and the Hawk a man's voice. D6-NL is a designation for no engine RPM (enigne out). They made two relight attempts and when that didn't work they punched out. The pilot was a student with an instructor in the back.

  • That's a BaE Hawk. NOT an F-16.

  • waste of a plane just for 1 bird :/

  • Thats what happens when you us dam windowns 92 with a airplane

  • I was under the impression that "T6NL" is the computer saying the motor is "Not Lit"

  • Sucks that they had to destroy the plane...

  • why did you put this video in the Category of comedy??? do you like seeing ppl die?

  • He didn't die, he ejected on time.

  • u didn't get the point u idiot

  • at 0:07 you can see the bird... sweet footage... Nice

  • birds - they hate us for our freedom

  • I really like this video. Can some one plears tell me what T6NL and GEAR KNOCK DOWN means, becouse Id really like to know.

  • T6NL is the airplane callsign, and the F16 computer is telling him that the gear is not down.

  • No, "t6nl" and "gkd" are multiple aircraft auditory sensor & monitoring designations for internal component operation.

  • T= Temperature above normal. 6= Stage 6

N= Shaft rotation speed. L= Low pressure.

"Gear Knock Down" = Sudden change in sensor data, or complete engine failure(flame-out).

  • Birdstrike leads to compressor stall...disruption of airflow!

Throttle is retarded in the zoom to catch/restart engine...SOP in most aircraft.

Aircraft is below a predetermined altitude with power below specified RPM.

Aircraft warning system notifies the pilot that "GEAR NOT DOWN!"

You get a warning no matter if it was a standard overhead pattern or EP after touch-n-go!

How do you "Knock Gear Down?"

  • Its not an f-16. The HUD is different and the F-16 has "Bitchin Betty" not a dudes voice

  • idiot get a life

  • this is not a ******* game

  • This wasn't a game you fucking idiots. This shit actually happened; hell, it was on the news. I'm not entirely sure if it was an F-16 or not, but it was definitely an aircraft of similar build. And for anyone questioning whether or not it was a game, the video streaming was from an onboard camera on the nose of the plane.

  • This is NOT, I say again NOT an F-16.

The video is from a CT-155 Hawk trainer aircraft. The accident happened in May 14, 2004 at Canadian Forces Base Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

YouTube video Z00gU-OQdQI has a link to the complete story, including a copy of the mishap investigation and a photo of the wreckage.

  • can't argue with that lol

  • Ofcourse he is a dumbass.

The smart one would strafe all the birds with his gamepad.

  • that was a game dumm ass

  • birds gets sucked into the engine, hahaha, but it is a killer on crashes.

  • T6NL is a code for an airplane engine over temperature condition. "T" stands for temperature, the number six refers to stage six. Stage six refers to the engine temperature and low pressure shaft speed. "N" stands for shaft rotation speed in the engine and the "L" stands for low pressure.

    00:06 bird strike

T6NL can be caused by a bird strike. I fly the viper. And this is not the viper. It's a harrier.

  • The computer first says "T6NL" which has something to do with the engine over heating. "T" for temperature, not sure about the 6 or N, but the "L" stands for low pressure. Then I believe the computer says "ER not done", which I'm assuming has something to do with a restart.

  • Though im no expert, IMHO it might say "Gear not done", as the gear have not been fully locked in the up position before the bird (or debris) hits. this is likely caused by a hydrolic pressure failure as the engine is no longer running. but that is IMHO.

  • Yeah this was not a F-16, this was defiantly a harrier jump jet.

  • I love how cool the instructor was....

  • what does "d6nl" mean and why did the FMS/UMS voice say "we are not done"?

  • it's "gear not done" not "we are not done" and i have no idea what that means. D6NL, however it's the code for an engine failure.

ironicly, i was reading FoolyCoolyOo's comment as watching flcl >_>

  • It's the "gear not down" warning. The jet's below a certain altitude and airspeed with the power below a certain percentage(RPM). In layman's terms...they are low and slow with no blow! Whatever the CAF Hawk's requirements activate the warning?

  • It's "Gear Knock Down" not "Gear Not Down."

  • If you actually fly the Viper you would realize this is not a Harrier!

  • Also...if your going to "Google" T6NL, don't cut and paste the definition. Come up with your own words so you sound like you actually know what your talkin about!

  • It was actually a RCAF plane that went down. Its on loads of aviation websites. The biggest piece of evidence is the FMS/UMS voice, its a british male voice unlike the american womans voice 'bitchin betty' in the f-16s. I think it went down in saskatchwan in canada

  • what does "d6nl" mean and why did the FMS/UMS voice say "we are not done"?

  • It's not f-16 this is a harrier.

  • They were pretty cool-headed on the engine restart procedures. Didn't work...but..they tried. Very good division of labor during an emergency.

  • That is crazy!! is that a bird who is hitting them in the start ?

  • Aren't our Multi-Million Dollar American Jets just awesome! It only takes hitting a little bird to bring 'em down, or a sucking up little screw to break 'em.

  • You're all wrong they were flying on a magic carpet when the bird hit the tea pot, it spilt hot water over all over the cakes, this distraction caused loss of concentration, hence the crash.

  • you are all wrong. that was a crop duster with a chicken in the engine

  • No it was glider with a cow fartin as an engine then an atom flew into the cown arse fick ed

  • OMG its not any of them its an F-A18-A

  • That plane is NOT an F-16. It's a RCAF plane.

  • FUCKING BIRD!!!

  • Its a Goshawk same plane the British red arrows use and probably navy trainer. The F-16 has the bitching betty warning audibles which is female voice.

  • It's a Canadian forces BAe Hawk.

  • u guys are all wrong it is a CT-155 hawk it is a trainer for canada

  • yeah okay okay but its the same aircraft the seal bashers just called it something different

  • canadian hawk 127 i agree and the engine died due too that lil bird about 6 seconds into the video

  • No its a Canadian Hawk 127

  • Sorry Dude...this is NOT a F-16...it IS a EA-6B Prowler. F-16 does not have an anal probe in the center of the windscreen. And this is ALSO listed on YOU TUBE elsewhere identifying the CORRECT aircraft...Hmmmmmm...wanna-b's. Go to school, make good grades and you might be able to become a REAL pilot.

  • Actually...it's a CT-155 Hawk (Canadian version of the BAe Hawk or USN Goshawk). F-16s do have anal probes/pitot tubes. Your looking at the CT-155 pitot tube through the HUD camera. Prowlers don't have HUDs. By the way, EA-6Bs have a larger refueling boom between the pilot and the ECMO-1 windscreen that would surely fit up your a**...wannabe!

  • Nice one texdcd... And yes, shooteraod, it is a Canadian Hawk, as confirmed in a lecture I was at the other week by the guy who designed the HUD in the video - Malcolm Jukes of Smiths Aerospace.

  • Not an F-16,

  • This must had been a trainer right? The F-16 is usually a one seater fighter. Anyway, both men remained cool and professional, all along, tried to restart engine, etc. Good job.
