  • ill hit a mill yet with my 98 Silverado 330,000 and still has just as much oil pressure as when it was new and its been pulling goose neck trailers all its life. no doubt chevy makes some of the best trucks around

  • my jimmy 171xxx all original for now no major tranny prob just alil bump at the semi first gear but motor is like a watch strarts right up with one little turn

  • I have a 2004 with 376,659 on it right now. Injectors replaced twice. Thats all I've ever had to do on mine.

  • yeah i got an 88 silverado, longbed, single cab, 350ci, 5spd manual, 4x4 with 430,000 miles. the newest thing on it is the trans. with 200,000 miles. C-H-E-V-R-O-L-E-T

  • I have 195K on my 02!

still great runing truck! no engine work at all.

  • you dont see a toyota run that long chevys run for ever

  • 1998 5.7L 1500 GMC 350,000kms still runs like day one as we bought it new. Only one transmission rebuild... I guess that's what happens when you pull a fifth wheel that's to big for the truck! We still have it and until gas becomes an arm and a leg we will continue to put kms on this truck. O yea 2 alternators 1 fuel pump (used one I think) and the trany rebuild maybe a radiator and a surpintine belt regular tune ups oil changes rarely!

  • I'm a Chevy girl ALL THE WAY! Ain't no one changing that. You just can't beat 'em. My Daddy, and both brothers worked on cars, and they have good reason to say Chevy IS the best!!!

  • My 69 c 20, 376,455 miles, 350 cu in

  • WOOHOO FOR GM FLINT MI PLANT!!

  • The US has a unique automotive market. Even Toyota changes its game to conform. But look on a global scale and you'll find that Toyotas are driven more than any other auto manufacturer. There's a reason the U.N., W.H.O., Red Cross and a myriad of other organizations choose Toyota.

That being said, given proper maintenance on any car and it will last a while.

Congrats to Frank and his "million mile Chevrolet." He definitely got his moneys worth.

  • Wow the import loving douchebags came out the woodworks for this comment. A car lasts long because you take care of it. My friends del sol made it to 120k then dropped it's trans and blew a seal. Buy a Mazda 626 and you'll see what unreliable means. My uncles v6 91 chevy, 401k miles and counting. It's the owner not the car import fanboys!

  • fuck hond but this video is wack.

  • Comment removed

  • @civicnation4two dident you hear him its the original engine he never even had to take the valve covers off you would never get that with any jappanies import pice of shit

  • Comment removed

  • @civicnation4two well im sorry if you cant just take the truth that all jappanies cars are shit they arnt even worth the powder to blow em up

  • The General Motors president would whole-heartedly disagree with you.

You did read his apology in the full page ad in newspapers across the world, right?

"We acknowledge we have disappointed you. At times we violated your trust by letting our quality fall below industry standards and our designs become lackluster. We have proliferated our brands and dealer network to the point where we lost adequate focus on our core U.S. market." -

  • Translation: You bought a piece of shit and not only a piece of shit but an UGLY piece of shit....more over, lots of shapes and sizes of garbage.

His promise to change and to bring: • produce automobiles you want to buy and are excited to own (no more dread)

    • lead the reinvention of the automobile based on promising new technology (old school shit to be turfed)

    • focus on our core brands to consistently deliver on their promises. (stopping the bs)

  • @civicnation4two well honda boy how do you explain 1000 000 miles on this Chevy there's no doubt GM has upper management problems fat ass over paid CEO's who F**K the dog all day. However I disagree that the quality is poor you see more older GM s on the road from the 80 s and 90 s than any other brand the Japanese cars all rusted away ware I live they just don't last support America Buy American

  • @civicnation4two

yup you heard it here, even if they let quality falter they still have more miles than any toy or hondiddy i know of.

my truck has 425,000 miles on it, its a 90 chevy V-6. only thing bad on it was the transmission, it still pulled at 425000 though.

my bosses truck has 450,000 and he pulls a dozer, bob cat and much more with it, he has records to prove it, no more than a sensor was replaced (besides wear items) this was even in local newspaper.

  • It's interesting how you would characterize the American vehicles as having a dip in quality by

using the word "falter" - sorry, but American vehicles have NEVER been high quality. By high quality

we mean vehicles that last. You can't throw out some ancedotal evidence about knowing some guy who's

truck has 420k miles on it etc. That is not how it works. GM is saying they need to catch up with the Japanese

on quality. Thats how it is.

  • @civicnation4two the engine was never replaced its the original moter from 1991 ur fucking retard

  • I saw a toyota tacoma in the background

  • Good Job Frank!!! Where is the truck now? I have a 91 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 silverado w/ a 5.7 liter in which I plan on being buried in. The thing has 200,000 miles on it and it still runs like a raped ape! Long live Chevy!!!

  • The factory time-chain lasted one million mile?

    That just bull shit

  • your full a shit

  • bottom line, 240K out of a transmission is more than acceptable. many vehicles have transmissions that have a hard time making it much past 100K. alternators typically do NOT last the life of the vehicle, and alternators such as the one used in this truck are NOT expensive items to replace. 1,200,000 miles on this truck is damn impressive and im not going to argue petty BS

  • i live near flint mi i dont live in it this is cool

  • wow, that's great to see. someone who actually takes care of their truck! people now just buy cars treat em like crap and trade em in! show some respect to the people who made your vehicle! (BTW doesn't apply to import owners)

  • Chevolet Silverado built like a rock!

  • i wounder if i'll get a million miles outta my 5.3.

  • can you do a millon miles in mexico.?

  • Thats great!!! CHEVY FOREVER!! I hope my 98 lasts this long!

  • @1badbowtie dont worry it will i have a 96 350 the 5.3 sucks lol

  • this proves that chevys are the best

  • most husbands cant get that reliability from there wifes....lmao

  • damn that a ton of miles is she still going? good ol chevy's but its also due to owner maintenance keep on truckin bud

  • this isn't something new to good ole 350's

  • thats a good ole made in USA product!!!

  • my 91 camaro has over 200000

  • i believe it, i have a 89. great car, very reliable. i have the same engine this guy has in this million mile truck. i had a 305 and i swapped it for the 350. i simply wanted more power. the 305 had 170K on it and i sold it as a running engine. wonder if i can get a million out of my 350? well i only drive it the summer so it would take a LONG TIME.

no question though, the L05 is a wonderfully reliable engine

  • @flynmid so its damn good stuff.

  • i have the exact same truck, model, paint scheme, everything and i just went over 300000 on her the other day. All ive had to repair on her motor wise for 2 years is the starter.

  • so only the engine works? haha

  • hes driving it at the end fuck tard

  • my father has a 1990 Volvo 760 turbo that they bought new when i was 6 years old. I am now 25 it now has 490,000 miles on the original drivetrain, original starter, fuel injectors, half shafts. you name it its never been changed in this car. the only thing this thing requires is brakes and fluid changes and it just keeps going, its amazing.

  • my uncle's old '98 Silverado: 350,000 miles

    my uncle's 2001 2500 HD Duramax: 377,000 miles

    my deceased uncle's '93 K2500: 225,000 miles

    my dads '95 K1500: 214,000 miles

Any car will last this long, just needs good care, a good driver that knows how to fix it and maintain it. A vehicle is only as good as the owner who puts gas in it, pays insurance on it, and does routine maintenance.

  • @chevytrucklover2011 GEEE notice how all of your family's vehicles are chevy's

  • @chevytrucklover2011 Thats bull shit complete bull shit. I have to disagree for instance a cheep car like a KIA will throw it's rods and burn up its rings all wall having a blown head gasket well before 300K. You my friend have just had good luck with your cars and more soooo your listing all chevy's. There are a lot of lemons out there right from the dealership.

  • @niksinthe916 your just not well inform i ll just put it to you this way , for your disgracied info chevys engine is the most wanted engine ever all around the world and the faborite engine for supercars builders also around the world you cant BEAT IT ON number of boutters , or am im wrong ? and if im wrong check this supercars engines coz all of them use chevy engines :ultima gtr from UK, plethore canadia,Henneseyvenom USA.KeatingTKR USA,Trident aceni UK,musler mt 900 USA,AeroUltimate ssc USA

  • We have a '79 Mercedes 300D with 845,000 on stock engine.

Love American Trucks, but gotta share...

1989 TOYOTA Hilux 2.4D with 426,000 on stock engine and trans. only 10 miles were on road :)

  • All depends on how you drive it, i would have been through probably 7trannys 2 engines and 3 differentials. :P LOL

    5 stars

  • Luck you. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. It does one thing really well... Break down!! It only has 61,000 miles on it and it has been in the shop 162 days so far. Chrysler won't even cover the warranty on some stuff any more.

For the record, it's never been in a crash nor ever off road. Next time I'm buying a Toyota!!

  • i have the same truck with stock motor tranny and everything running wise and it has over 300,000 miles

  • For you Hideki Tojo lovin' hillbillies who make fun of ford and chev... try this (my special copyrighted phrase) on for size:

    TOYOTA:

    Trashy

    Old

    Yuppies

    Oughta'

    Try

    American!

  • i have tried american and they are shit cars, a owned a Dodge Nitro and it might have been the worst purchase i have ever made.

    Ford:

    Fixed Or Repaired Daily

  • The worst purchase you ever made was internet access.

  • You suck at making cars

  • @luke26126 No wrong Dodge suck's at it now day's. The other's are great. And Didge is fixing up them self's to be good car's so dont talk shit bicth.

  • @luke26126 you picked the wrong one. almost all cars from chrysler are shit. especially the nitro.

  • @luke26126 WOW you found a bad car. HUH I have a shity ass Toyota and I do love it and would buy another. But that thing only has 165,000 mile's on it and has bad valve guid's, alot of small crap break down all the time, Engine lost all of it's power and has so much blow by that I could pull the oil cap off and put my head over it and dry my hair. And now on the other hand my ford has 169,079 Mile's on it and has had no problem's at all and cerntly no major problem's like the Toyota.

  • @VinnyMartello Also:

    The

    One

    You

    Ought

    To

    Avoid.

(Hence the gas pedal problem haha)

  • @VinnyMartello FORD: Fucker Only Runs Downhill

Not our fault that Americans are lazy bastards who build shitty cars that break. You can't kill a Honda engine if you try.

  • @shadowrun443

At least our Air planes kicked some royal butt back in the war. Sorry you guys lost.

  • @shadowrun443 i know people who haven't tried, but they sure killed their honda reaaaaaalll good.

My brother used to race his friends in my Moms '89 Celebrety station wagon (stock). And he would rip those little souped-up fuckers a new one! And my daddys got a '77 four door nova thats been across the U.S. twice (not including trips to TX every year for like 10 years). It has over 400,000 miles on an original motor and transmission and that S.O.B still runs! Can't beat a Chevy! ;)

  • I constantly see american cars on the road that are from the 60's -70's. I have yet to see a piece of shit Toyota or Nissan car on the road that has lasted that long.. Even if the American cars have been restored, why doesn't anyone restore a Toyota or Nissan... Because they are throw away garbage cans.

  • Well one reason is that Japanese car companies didnt export cars here in mass quantity until the late 70's. There are numerous examples of such vehicles on the road from that period.

I dont know about where you live but here in the South East I routinely see 30 year Toyota/Nissan pickup trucks driving aroud. Not to mention numerous landcruisers(big restore favorite, there are many completely restored FJ40's from the mid 70's) and isuzu troopers. The old "Jap Crap" myth just isnt true.

  • A toyota is like a computer. You run it till it dies and then give it to goodwill or make a donaton to you local landfill. You dont bother fixing it when it breaks...

    X-D

  • hahahaha its because nissans and toyotas were barely exporting cars in the 60's and there are tons of 70s toyotas around along with hondas

  • didn't toyota just recall over a million vehicles

  • @cd6837 A car for every mile this truck has went. HAHAHAH

  • @luke26126

where do you see them what the fuck are you talking about where do you see them the toyots made in the 70(like the ones made now) suffered extreme rust chevy was and always will be better than any jap car

  • hahahah chevy made the worst fucking cars in the 80's and 90's

  • @luke26126 you dont know much of anything about automobiles do ya PM me if you think you can hold your own in an argument against me

  • i know the basics except im an aircraft and powerplant mechanic so i know more than you will ever know about any engine

  • @luke26126 your parents made the worst fucking kid the year you were born

  • shut your 11 year old mouth haha you have a 99 saturn 4 banger and you wanna talk shit?

  • at least he's not acting 11 years old like you are!

grow up and show some maturity!

you shouldn't even be able to own a vehicle

  • @borne2rock because there where no 60's and 70's import muscle cars.

  • I think this video forgot to mention that this guy went through

    5 transmission and 6 alternators.

  • Yes,5 "Remanufactured" transmissions and 6 "Remanufactured" alternators. There's a big diffrence in quality when you buy brand new and remanufactured parts.

  • I believe the Yaris you're talking about has 500,000 miles,or maybe it a Prius? but anyway Franks alternators go out because he has to power refridgerators.Remember, hes a sea food delivery driver.Food must be kept COLD

  • Yes,but just remember.Transmissions see alot more stress and heat than engines do.

"2007 Toyota Yaris 354,000 miles" thats a 2007,not a 1991.The quality in years has been better.

    Search this-

    watch?v=eQCrxDSqblc

  • Again, im talking about an economy

No chevy Aveo or Chevy Cobalt could make that break.

You gotta admit that is damn good for a car that is new like that. And his yaris is fully loaded. Frank's Silverado had manual everything

  • Looks to be just the opposite to me. I didnt see a standard shifter on the silverado, but that Yaris is a 5 Speed. A five speed gear box will naturally last much longer than an automatic, no clutch packs or bands to wear out.

The Yaris is a decent vehicle I'm sure but the quality gap isnt that large. Toyota's AUTOMATIC transmissions from the time period werent that impressive either. Dont get me wrong Toyota made great cars but there not THAT great compared to other manufacturers.

  • The yaris is fully loaded with what? It looks like a cute little piglet so maybe it is loaded with slop?

  • @ChevroletBowtie at least u can stop in a chevy

  • @ChevroletBowtie No the quality in workmanship of the Japanese is much better. Any American Transmission would never hold up. I had a Honda Accord with 389,000 Miles with the original Transmission. Toyota Camry 302,000 Original Transmission. Chevy Impala 98,000. The proof is in the FACTS.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla

what you dont see is this guy is actually honest unlike you with your bs stories, this guys has been confirmed. and 200,000miles a transmission is good for a work truck in a snow belt state.

american vehicles have many million mile records. toyota = 0. and btw i have never seen a toyota owner do any work with their vehicles. those who have tried with their pos tundras had transmission failures too. never mind no 200,000 miles out of one.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla at least it wasnt rusted in 2 how many 91 toyotas do you see that arnt rust buckets

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Dude American all the time

  • @GmTruckCarLove

It shows how people are ignorant

The Yaris has held up better than this and it has electronics, which usually hamper a cars reliability but Japanese is more reliable than American.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Thay hold up better? Thay havent been around enough to even see how durable thay are. And our car's (Execpt for Dodge) Have been proven to be just as relible as any Jap car. And our car's dont run out of control HAAHAH and than have the CEO say that it is not thear fult.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Lmao toyotaforcorolla why are you here? A yaris better than that truck? I dont think so. Toyota yaris is a gay dudes car.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla

you really are an idiot. 1,200,000

5 transmissions? figures 1,200,000/5 equals a transmission every 240,000. many vehicles dont even make it that long. thats impressive

the yaris is a piece of shit. my 91 cavalier has 162K on it, runs like a new car still.

    toyota sucks balls

oh yeah and 6 alternators in 1.2M aint bad either. you buy a reman alt with a lifetime warranty for $120 and never pay for it again. it takes 1/2 hour to change out

  • @ad356

Someone on youtube has 400,000 on their 2007 Toyota Yaris and NO TRANSMISSION FAILURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the alternator at 323,000. And he still gets 45 MPG on the highway.

now thats quality. If low end toyota stuff can last that long, think of how long the Tundra can last

  • @ToyotaforCorolla wait the accelerator didnt get stuck down and the car didnt crash holly shit thats some amazing jap crap

  • @ToyotaforCorolla How the fuck does 323,000 miles beat 1,000,000

  • @Jay500500500 HAHAHAHAHAHAH so true. Shut up toyota boy.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla uhhh, who cares. thats a third of the miles this thing has. This has the original timing chain, so, Im suprised it hasnt skipped time. But my 88 4runner has been reliable with 262 100 miles, but, still, it needs a lot of things. It still runs great on the original clutch. But still. A Yaris is shit.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla the yaris is a manual, HUGE difference. It's the reason I dont touch automatics, altrough 5 tranny in one million mile is still 200 000miles each for a rebuilt

  • @ChevroletBowtie so what he still had to replace the transmission

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Toyota: Got Brakes? At least Chevy's don't have sticking gas pedals!

  • No. I'm not going to bother commenting

The Yaris wasn't under the recall.

Shut up and go walk the dog. Stop wasting electricity on your computer for something so stupid than to comment on the video with such a retarded remark.

    GET FUCKING LOST, YOU DINGUS

  • Comment removed

  • @ToyotaforCorolla- You're a fucking moron and your videos are a fucking joke. Do us all a favor, go play in traffic, maybe you will get taken out by a shitty ass Toyota!

  • what a peice of juck

  • Humm,1,000,000 miles, and you call it a piece of junk? Most cars dont even last 400,000 miles.BTW its "junk" not "juck"

  • I like Chevys, mom owned an 86 Silverado 4x4 with a 305,it lasted about 180,000 miles before a rod broke, one million miles?that is impressive, damn..I always thought 300,000 was outstanding,I would say that if you have any vehicle that is still reliable at 200,000... consider yourself fortunate, most people dont take care of their cars/trucks and rarely ever see mileage past 150,000 and much of it has to do with how you drive it and maintain the engine upkeep, maintenance is essential to longevity

  • I like the toyota truck in the background!!!!!!! Much better truck!!!!!!!

  • fucking idiot..toyota is the worst car ever made shitt. lasts for what 100k miles? go ford faggot

  • you are such a loser man, Toyota is the biggest and most popular auto company in the world, ford fucking sucks i wonder why there all doing so bad, fucking GM is bankrupt and Dodge and Ford sell for next to nothing

  • Umm, i have a 1991 Chevy just like this guy's except it's a light duty 2500 and it has over 400,000 miles on it with the original motor and maybe it's 3rd(?) transmission.

  • Yeah, it's had plenty of water pumps, starters, and fuel pumps replaced but you can still you can bump the key and make the motor turn over once shen it's warm and it fires right up.... every time.

  • The copmpression is atill all there and when you punch the gas, it's still responsive, for a truck with a low gear ratio. Ohh, and by the way the motor has never had a head cover off of it.... EVER which means it has never had any internal work done on it.... Ohh, does that burst your bubble mr toyota??

  • And by the way, my mom drives a 2006 lexus es 330 that has 50,000 miles on it that she'll have to spend $1000 on at 100,000 miles to get a new timing belt put on or she risks destroying her engine because toyota hasn't heard of a thing called a TIMING CHAIN.

  • @1991chevy2500 My toyota has an timing chain. But is still a pice of shit. But I do love it. And would buy another one. But I try to buy american and love them so much and know thay are better than jap scrap.

  • ej2dxsi. You would say that cause your a douche bag.

    Chevys last forever!!!

  • your a fucking your just pissed that Toyota is doing better then fucking bankrupt GM

  • Your comment doesnt even make sense.

Toyota sucks ass. And maybe becuase GM had 8 diff car makes. They deleted 4 and now only have Chevy/gmc, buick and cadillac. They will be fine.

Shut your mouth douche bag, are you russian? thats why!!!!

  • It all has to do with how well you keep up the manitains on your cars and they will run forver. Every car has little things here and there that break i have 370k on my 1995 chevy silverado, original motor and tranny still. Runs great yes power is not all there anymore but still runs and i can stil tow my 28 pull behind trailer no problem, oh and i forgot to mention it has an 11inch lift on 37 inch tires, do that to a jap car, wont last 100 miles

  • man i wanted to see it get tested through destruction

  • I had an accord at one point, too, that had some minor issues. Great car, but it was not perfect like people would believe. I knew someone who was a service manager at a nissan dealership, and he had some horror stories about the factory mistakes. I also remember hearing about the intermediate steering shaft fracture/breakage issues on the prius that toyota seemed to hush up. My point is that anything made by humans will have faults, despite what the companies try to get you to believe.

  • Some of the japanese car quality is a myth. They do make mistakes like the other companies. My parents bought a new CRV that came w/o wire harnesses plugged in (interior was dead) and options missing. Its also had to go thru a factory recall or two for varous issues. I was standing at the counter at the same dealership and some lady was basically shit out of luck because her new accord broke a subframe rail.

  • I think that is just more of an issue with bad luck. There will always be some error in any car production. I think that the point is that Japanese cars have been known for being tough and durable, compared to some of the bad American cars produced in the late 70s to 80s. Sure this Chevy has 1 million miles, but there are probably 10 times more Chevy's that didn't make it past 100K. Sorry about the CRV, my '96 Civic is doing 180K and I'm hoping to see 200K on my '00 Forester.

  • 200k really isnt that much my 02 silverado is at 150k and i havent touched a thing except oil and air filters and plugs and wires

  • The point with the 200K was that I'd like to be driving something newer by the time I reach 200. I've had 3 cars in the past 5 years, but only put around 20K on each.

If we really want to make a point of mileage, look up the Mercedes Benz owners club for high mileage vehicle's. I think they are the only manufacturer to have such club that certifies the mileage. My first car, a '85 V8 gas powered Benz was purchased with 250K and ran perfectly till I got a newer car at 280K.

  • Ya i agree mercades are good cars if you got the money for them. But some people cant afford a new car/truck every other year. GM has a high mileage club its called over 200k club i think.

  • Chevy trucks...ROCK SOLID!

  • I love how people post comments on how bad american cars are on a video about an american truck with almost a million miles...

  • that 350 was a durable motor and 3,000 mile oil changes and highway driving really helped it to last, but the rest of the truck fell apart like any gm, ford, or dodge piece of shit...i know, i've owned more than 30 of them.

  • sure you have

  • Too bad you're a such a dumbass

  • If you where actually smart enough to open a newspaper once in awhile, you would see that the sales of ALL the automakers in the US hit the skids. The only reason that the jap companies are still afloat is the Asia market was still going strong after the crash. The US companies mainly only have a presence in the US and UK, both of which are in a recession. Theyre not bankrupt becuase they're "shit". Its solely due to the lack of buyers in a recession. Simple as that.

  • you moron, the japanese cars outsold american cars for YEARS

    idiot

  • thats because over in china and shit theres like 3 times the people and 3 times the demand

  • you dont know what the fuck are you talking about

China has one of the lowest cars per 1000 people ratios in the world

  • China population 1,306,313,812 in 2009

    U.S populaton 305,529,237 in 2009

They have over one billion more people and your saying Americans need more cars? Doesn't add up.

  • no, I'm saying Americans HAVE more cars because they can AFFORD more cars

  • still one billion more people perty much the only way you could be right is if they have 1car per thousand and US has 1000 cars per thousand which is highly unlikely

  • True point, though the question arises why American cars are not sold in other parts of the world. As far as I can figure out the most obvious reason would be a lack of demand. Why this lack of demand exists might be debatable, but in Europe part of it is that US cars are in the same pricerange as a lot of european and japanese cars that offer better quality for our Euro's

  • you could rebuild that 350 for less than a grand and run it for another million, lol.

  • how many times has the engine been rebuilt

  • if that were a ford, the engine will be toast,,, CHEVY FOR LIFE

  • how many engines has it gone through, etc.?

  • original motor

  • douche comments from someone with a douche name.
