The 'gay community' is a myth. it's as diverse and fragmented as the 'heterosexual community'. Many gay men can switch campness on and off as they are often more in touch with their feminine side. The days of Victorian/ Darwin-style classification is in decline. People would be better defined by the content of their character rather than who they sleep with, colour, age, ability etc.

I know that isn't what you mean, but it's how you came across. There are camp people and then there are screamers. I think you need to distinguish the two. I'm camp, but I'm not a screamer. I believe the reason for the camp gay man is to eliminate the prejudice that they face that no other minority has to face. To be fair though, it's within their right to dress/act camp if they wish to. I just wanted to say that I stumbled across your video and found it very interesting. I feel like I can relate and your video reminded me how I have similar views of gays in our current media. I too have noticed a stereotypic image of "the gay man" in LGBT movies and television. Being an admirer of good films, I'm very disappointed at the image of men in these films and how they focus on attractive looking men and sexuality rather than a deep plot and good dialogue.
