  • Ok, now they'll spend billions of dollars to sit around and talk about it. While a bunch of guys from shop class, could have a fleet of them built already

  • it would be wonderful if our foolish gov, took our public funding that discovers these great things, and patents it, sells it, and makes a fucking killing off it to take some of the burden off us. DAMN YOU TEMPERPEDIC you owe nasa a mars mission

  • guano

  • omg, i tough it was crashing at 0:30, didn't realize it was low ground, but far far ground xD

  • REALMENTE LOS AVIONES DE PASAJEROS NO HAN EVOLUCIONADO NADA SU EXTERIOR SIGUEN COMO EL PRIMERO QUE CREARON, MODERNISACION POR DENTRO SI PERO POR FUERA DONDE ?

  • the new shit seat will be the "No-window seat" in the middle

  • @Guitarbuddy449

Agree Boeing Y-3 Bleed wing design (one of two) don't have lots of window on sides too.(not the more avaliable Ecoliner design ).

  • i hope of day we can have beds for even economic sits!!

  • better a duck

  • that thing looks like Tony Starks jet....

  • Then after they build and test it, they'll just give away the technology to Boeing and Lockeed for free..hmmm

  • great now the economy seats are going to suck even more. no windows? now how am I going to escape from the fat guy sitting next to me?

  • This is both fake and gay.

  • @hgprt12 do you know what a prototype is ? stop to say that everthing you never seen before is fake !

  • Did Obama ok this through the muslims? Aren't they the ones he gave NASA credit to?

  • Yes ptko 1610 but BMW have UFOS HAHAHA

  • NASA is Skynet

  • Saleen made a S7 whit 1000hp and half the VW veyron engine...just saying too

  • STOL: Shitty Take off and landing

  • Oh that looks much safer to fly, I guess if its engines fail it could even glide and do a crash landing?

  • I'd fly in that. But I like trains...

  • Havent seen one yet, why are you taking so long?

  • @budrick3 finally someone who understands me!! volkswagen makes some real crappy cars.. not only does they look bad, but they also break all the fucking time.. and not to talk about all the unnessescary electronicks such as antispin....

  • @psykochevyfan Like I said to some other guy, Volkswagen made the Bugatti Veyron……. Just Sayin….

  • @Stefawwnbekbek exactly.

  • it looks like the future airbus but more shit

  • latios anyone!?

  • .....and then corporations say tax is too high. Nasa is doing research for them subsidised by the tax payer then when they're profiting from these planes down the line they'll still be screaming about taxes..... before any of you say this ain't the case please get off this ex-military and research network and reply to me by post.

  • futuers sucks!

  • it's time to build it

  • What I've learned from this video: Craig Hange is a Hobbit.

  • what i dont like about the likes of airbus, boeing nasa etc is they over rate their designs its all talk and no fuckin action. mcdonnel douglas where an exception making their UDF engine in the 80's

  • @SERVICEOFHUMMANITY - And everyone said, "Ohh, I'm not going to fly on something with propellers", and it got canned. Shouldn't have, but there you go.

  • @JBofBrisbane people are msilead about the difference of udf proppellers and jet engines :( lol

  • hold 7

  • @durgene Whats he eating? :D

  • @HDaviator...or...or, out-of-business mall parking lots!... Heck, any UPS/FedEx-regional parkin' lot(s)!! ...just restructure the staging & critical use surfaces.

Places like th' abandoned US Air Force runway th' MythBusters use!!! Man, the govt has dozens of those all over th' USA!!!!... I see 'em on Google Earth...those are just about vehicle-ready t' begin with. I mean, when it involves [passengers]- th' place has t' have all those aesthetics n'things... Cargo/lease does not...

    just sayin'...

  • ...ok it is 2011...Whereizzit? Ennyone showin' up at an air-show in this impressive baby yet? It sure makes sense as a cargo/special-use craft. It's about time a plane was designed & built utilizing an aircrafts' fuselage-as-lift properties along w/the aileron surfaces.

  • @SittingMooseShaman

It makes sense on paper, to have a large aircraft land in smaller airports other airliners cannot but when you actually think about it, there are very few if any small airports that could accommodate such a large aircraft. All of those airports would have to become larger and most of those airports have no space available to do it or the funds. I guess a niche would be to land in remote areas with unpaved but open areas.

  • There is a reason why such designs have not entered airlines yet - emergency exits are hard to use. For the very same reason A380 is a double decker, initially it was intended as a wide fuselage airplane, but the existing regulations limits distance from passenger seats to exits, limiting max width of passenger compartment.

  • the people are retards on youtube, the designers, engineers and innovators are smart

i bet the future is going to have really smart people and people who are even more retarded than todays people

  • latios

  • with flat screen technology there is no need for a window, I would rather more efficient jets be made that would actually aid in the comfort of a flight, than have a window! I mean really, if you were about to crash, you really want to see it?!

  • @tonymengela I would, actually...

  • usa aquelas tecnologias que voces escondem da humanidade , isso aí já nasceu obsoleto perto do que escondem a mais de 50 anos.

  • good! you finally are going to build and airplane that can land and take off from a field no one will use

  • new concept 3000x's the cost ( i'll stick with noisey jets)

  • That's the best Arwing ever, DO A BARREL ROLL!!!!

  • lol at 0:22 the guy is like YAAAY for no good reson

  • Great. That's wonderful, NASA. Good for you. NOW BUILD THE EFFING THING!!!

  • mmm. Not much room for error here

  • @ExplosiveDonuts That's my problem too.

  • maybe they'll cruise at more than 560 MPH too.

  • Comment removed

  • wtf, if this airplane is so damn good, then why dont they build every single plane like this?

  • @j23araluce

I suppose the answer to that is.. they will. It takes quite a bit of time to test a design.. especially one for an aircraft. There are a few on the books that, like the A380, are designed to carry 800 to 1000 people. The time to find out you've made a critical engineering error.. ISN'T AFTER it's been made. Small steps.. small steps.

We were amazed by the 747, we were amazed by the A380.. and we will be no less amazed when they finally do release these things.

  • They will probably have virtual windows so you can look in any direction or watch TV, movies, etc.

We are not running out of "fossil" fuel just the will to get it. So called fossil fuel appears to not actually be finite but in production all the time. Wells that were thought to be dry have refilled.

Aside from that, IMO, at the current rate of development I expect we'll have sustainable bio-fuel production that does not infringe on food crops within 10-15 years.

  • @Bigfoot1955 - What oil is left is getting harder and harder (hence, more expensive) to find and extract. The fact of the matter is we're using oil and coal way faster than it was laid down and formed. As for wells refilling - first time I heard that one. Care to cite a source?

Fuel companies should make more ethanol from sugar cane and less from corn. We need foodstuffs more than we need sugar anyhow.

  • Generating extra lift by having the engines exhaust over the upper wing surface was baked years ago by Antonov, can't remember which model though.

  • no one with adapt fast enough to counter the growing scarcity of oil. It's running out way too fast. and then what?

  • @vince99percent Zeppelins.

  • Looks like a Starship and that plane did great, that was sarcasm.

  • Looks like a Starship and that plane great, that was sarcasm.

  • Thats Gay

  • Can you say sunroof?

  • @oubrioko hahaha never crossed my mind :) excellent point.

Btw, it was Airbus that mentioned it in passing, so who knows.

  • This is the 797 Concept i think.

  • The Nazis had this on fuckin drawing boards. and america is only following 70 years later. lol

  • JUST FUCKING BUILD IT ALREADY!

  • waaw, the plane luks lyk an oceanic shinning creature on a diamonds.

  • The plane looks like my dick

  • @drKlitzman So your dick is shaped like a wing?

  • @MrSocial78 HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHHHHAHAHAA

  • CHECK OUT "2012 UFOs Connections and Revelations". ON YOUTUBE This is a compilation of evidence revealed by former and present American presidents, astronauts, military personnel, politicians along with credible aired UFO footage. This compilation also contains planned revelations regarding knowledge of life beyond Earth along with it's current and ever ongoing presence which is being hidden from the public. This knowledge has been hidden from the public for over 50 years. + MUCH MORE.

  • Isn't that what jet manufacturers are for? What happened to a space program let along a maned space program. Either kill NASA or start doing Mars missions. If America isn't good enough for manned space flight anymore, leave it to the Russians, Chinese, Japanese and India.

  • WE WANT FAST SPEEDS, WE WANT TO TRAVEL MACH 2.0!!

  • This is something nobody wants. Work on supersonic.

  • enjoy the music? fuck that was very very fake and gay

  • but we need some new cool space crafts!

  • @MrSkyblueday Very much so!

  • It's just amazing!

  • Does anyone else thing this plane looks like the Pokemon "Latios?"

  • Stop this nonsense NASA and built some decent space ships instead.

  • What about asymmetrical thrust???

  • ah, so they finally caught on to the concept the An-70 has been designed around, congratulations space geniuses...

  • until they make flapping wings im not impressed :D

    nature > man

way to stay on topic losers

  • What sucks about airlines today: checked bag fees

What will suck about airliners of tomorrow: windows are only available in First Class

  • @oubrioko That's ryanair today :S

  • @oubrioko but this is just a concept its not in production XDDD but who knows mazbe zou are right

  • @oubrioko You can get roof windows, probably.

  • @Blueoriontiger #LOL Nice!

  • @oubrioko I'd imagine that a vitual window will become standard if these types of designs come into commercial service. with the Cheap, low energy LED screens coming on the market it would be an east sell to airlines.

  • @oubrioko who cares, you only look outside for the first 5 to 10 mins of the flight and then place your mind on something else.

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR Must be an aisle-seat kinda person #LOL

  • @oubrioko Yeah I have to have a window

  • @oubrioko might be see through floors?

  • Comment removed

  • @oubrioko only america but Asian airliners dont have ^^ free 15kl to 30kl baggages ^^

  • @oubrioko Actually future airliners will be made of transparent super materials, therefore the entire craft will be transparent. Sort of the opposite of what you're purposing...

  • @111sunder Transparent super materials: Hmm. . . What about the lavatory?

Oh well, maybe I'll be able to see my checked bag in the cargo hold beneath my feet.

  • @oubrioko I figure the lavatory will the be only solid part, thus you will see a flying cubic lavatory replace every aircrafts in the world xD

  • @oubrioko windows on ceilings?

  • @oubrioko shit pilots will be the only ones with a window. :) and that will be optional.

  • @oubrioko planes would be cheaper to make,i suppose

  • @oubrioko What sucks about airliners of tomorrow: windows are only available in First Class...

*and* you have checked bag fees.

  • @oubrioko Civil flight will be over in a decade or two anyway. It's was a long hype. People got offered cheap tickets as long as tax payers are paying the losses. Once the ticket prices are there where they should be (at least at the cost of the fuel), no one except a few people will be able to afford them. Why should one fly anyway? It's entirely unneccessary.

  • HUGE!!!

  • Vous n'arriverez plus a égaler un Concorde

  • Ground control to Major Tom...

  • I like it, it looks like a normal airliner in the front with a NASA look in the back, First class gets the window seat the rest are stuck with a magazine or the safety book =D

  • The future is in aviation history's 1st flight tests of Stealth, Tailless complete yaw-pitch-roll thrust vectoring flight control, with no aerodynamic control surfaces, like those of the X-44 MANTA and the X-47b. It took place in Israel in 1987 and briefly reported on May 18, 1987 by Aviation Week. Video in a Facebook cite ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] shows how the 100-years-old, stall-spin-dangerous technology will be replaced with tailless designs in Civil and military aviation. That is the future.

  • i love how they make things better but in the end they all blow up the same when they crash.

the day that no longer is a prob is when we have achieved something

  • @donsargent well the day we don't use them to blow up little kids would be nice too

  • nasa is like volkswagen ... youre never knoe ehat are they plans and yet when they show you it you re just amazed

  • @patko1610 I would not compare nasa to volkswagen... Volkswagen make some of the shittiest cars in the world.

  • @budrick3 have u or do u own a volkwagen?

  • @budrick3 and they were also make by hitler

  • @budrick3 A volkswagen Golf GTI is the shit matey vroom vroom lol

  • @budrick3 i have never seen nasa make cars, are they good quality? vw for life!!!

  • @budrick3 thats a very limited view from one side. volkswagen is not the shittiest car trust me. They actually make great cars around the world not just the crappy things they are forced to sell the americans.

  • @budrick3 Volkswagen made the Bugatti Veyron……. Just Sayin….

  • @patko1610 not rly idort

  • @patko1610 wtf r u on?

  • @patko1610 you know what sucks though is that they show it to you but they say it will be tested in 10 years or it be out at that time

  • '

NASA can make it the biggest airplane than boeing jumbo 747-400

  • divide NASA in half and the team that gets the most done keeps their jobs.

  • @datzfast and when the winning team grows too big - do it again ;)

It should be the same in the government and military lol.

  • this will never be used.

nothing efficient gets into public use anymore

  • Less noise? I can barely hear someone talking to me when they go over our neighborhood at maybe10k feet so this would be a welcome change.

  • Now try fast landing!

  • you wanna know why they ended the filming at 37 seconds?

cus the plane was gonna crash, its to support there new slogain

    bad for nasa

    good for terrorist's

  • Looks like a blended wing body, but with a tail. I wouldn't be surprised if it worked. And its a bit less alien to the airline companies than a blended wing body with no tail or vertical stabilizers.

  • Hmmm, but the channel wing was also a very conceptual idea and capable of VR at literally as slow as twenty knots. I wonder how a channel wing jet aircraft would perform given the idea, but yet only the idea. Interesting, thanks for this!

  • So with this design only the first class passengers get windows. Figures.

  • @BB1951 i supose it could be made windoless and thr piolet have cameras and peep hole back ups. that would be fair.

  • Comment removed

  • This is hardly a new concept. It was invented by Vincent Burnelli before the WWII. BTW, I believe that this is a perfect shape for a transport aircraft or a bomber, but I am skeptical about adopting it to passenger service, but there is a way of providing everyone with a window - windows in the top of the aircraft, instead of the side. That way, one could have more access to windows that in wide body airliners. Sitting in a middle row of a wide body airliner isn't different from windowless plane

  • My luck I would have at seat at the wings.

  • If only Nasa did some of the stuff they talked about they could still be around today

  • One camel fucker in the desert came up with all these mind-blowing innovations of rocket science and outer space aviation you "evil amerikans" just secretly in the night stole our ideas and every time out next generation genius comes up with something revolutionary you Americans keep stealing them you Americans must be dumb!!!!!

  • Muslims invented Naasa blueprints for rockets and aircraft the evil Americans just stole our idea in Saudi Arabia and abducted our genius scientists

  • @ala4akbar Everything you said is tru

  • @spins321 only a dumb ass like you would believe that i meant everything i said unless your a fanatical, extremist, hypocritical, idiotic Muslim that is!! The fact is Jews and Muslims always tried to copy and modify inventions of the west(including Russia)

  • @ala4akbar I was meting your sarcasm with sarcasm. I did not take your comments seriously.

  • NASA is the best!!

  • Thank god for NASA. Love what they come up with

  • Why is'nt Boeing making this? guess what th Chinese & Indians will COPY it like the Russians in the last century!

  • @CreoleCommando Not only last century, probably this one too

  • @CreoleCommando dude sad news the fucking chinks already copied the blueprints of the b-2 bomber(the most high tech advance aircraft in the world) by crashing their own plane with it and sooner of later the Chinese will make a modified prototype and claim it their own invention.i blame the fucking rich american companies who manufacture their products on foreign soil for much much cheaper cost

  • they need to make a flying saucer and just get over this aircraft windflow debate

  • @ABCDesmond Americans can't do it unless they steal some bright Arab gifted scientists, you Americans too dumb the airplane, the moon rocket, the atomic bomb was all invented by Arabs in which you evil amerikans stole their idea

  • @ala4akbar The atomic bomb? Are you this fucking stupid? Do you even know who made the atomic bomb? Albert Einstein. A German scientist. Believe me you poor assholes cannot even event a normal house unless you think of normal as mud bricks.

  • @shadowhunter388

Albert Einstein didn't make atomic bomb.

  • @shadowhunter388 Albert Einstein didnt "make" the atomic bomb.He didnt even develop the thoery. He only examined the math and deemed it as "feasible as a weapon" in a short paper delivered to Roosevelt. And you're calling other people stupid...kid you're just talking out your ass.

  • when the oil runs out in 2012 this will be moot

  • @pwnage0013

    Yeah right

  • @pwnage0013 haha it will take another 30 years for just the oil of the middle east to run out and rumor has in that USA has more unharnessed oil in Dakota and from neighboring Canada(Yukon) then the middle east itself!!!! but i hope oil runs out so USA would use alternative source of fuel which would not only be cleaner and more abundant but also demolish the gay Arab's only economic revenue:OIL!!!!!

  • @ala4akbar in 30 years I wont be here to worry about it! hahahahahahaha

I'll be in a far BETTER place than here for sure!

  • woah!cool!

  • This fat ass nasa scientist is mad the airplane seats are to small, thats why he made a fat ass plane with XXL seats. lol

  • How many rows of seats or aisles this thing have, I hate aisle and mid seats and it looks like only first class has the windows, wtf. It looks cool but I'll never fly in it.

  • i need my window!

  • almost same model as cf18 hornet

  • Why is NASA incapable of Fiscal efficiency.

Surely accounting 101 would be kindergarten to these rocket scientists.

  • well, from the tops it looks like a ovwerweight 747

  • As someone said, there are few windows. How about some windows in the top or under the airframe? Make them as big as the current technology allows!

    But its sexy!

  • barely any windows

  • hell. it even looks cooler too.

  • this could be the next big thing, and thing of the speed gained and fuel saved, max lift, this is america we go up we go down, but we will alway go back up with inventions concept and hardwork,we are not that same country 10 tens ago,it must be won again

  • fuck economics and this fat guy using all funding on sluts and shit!!!! they will never out this stuff to good use :(

  • Yet this still hasnt come out and the video was posted 2007.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sp33dyD3m0n it takes more than 10 years for an aircraft to "come out". Check it out

  • @fintydee But orders are taken before they take the first test flights, and no one has mentioned ordering one. Im jsut saying, it hasn't happened yet, probably scraped.

  • BlackSoulsAion,

Obama suspended the shuttle program so that the US could concentrate on reaching Mars. There are at least two private firms and two other nations that are capable of shuttling back and forth to the ISS; let them handle the legwork while NASA focuses on bigger goals.
