  • not exactly live as the quotta said

  • Lead guitarist Steve Gaines (who joined the group in 75 or 76 I believe), & his sis, back up vocalist Cassie Gaines were born in Seneca, Missouri. They died in the plane crash with Ronnie and are also buried in Florida. As a native Missourian, I take pride in our state's only connection & contribution to this great band!

  • yes they r from jacksonville watch behind the music and u will find out

  • Ronnie has such a great voice. When the new Skynyrd plays this song it is just a dam joke. Thats my opnion anyway

  • It´d be interesting to make a parody song called " Complex woman" i guess it could be funny. Lynyrd Skynyrd it's the greatest rock band in history !! Only true music lovers know the quality of "this group of friends who get together to play the music they all love" said by Ronnie Van Zant. RIP Cassie, Steve and Ronnie. You'll always be in our cars and ours iPods.

  • This is my favorite version of "Simple Man" love lov love it!! Been searching for this! thank you.

  • @skater81192; Yeah, isnt it crazy that he is all that is left. I was really bummed when Mr Powell died. He was an exact replica of my Uncle Donald, coincidentally who played piano also and passed away over 30 years ago.

  • gary is the only one left

  • @skater81192 dont say that yet.

  • Wise word's traveling through our short day's. Absorb the message, and hold it close. Truth mixed in complex simplicity.

  • I have that album! but simple man is not on it :< too bad! great song!

  • Van zant singing the one and only original version, nobody can copy this song he did it right, you cant compare it

  • @11cwest but it the guitars are different also.

  • @11cwest look I understand that but the fact that others are playing it helps to keep the music alive. dont you think?

  • ♫❤♫❤♫❤♫ Ronnie Van Zant ♫❤♫❤♫❤♫

  • Shine Down SUCKS THIS is the real deal

  • @MetalandHotRods Oh come on why is it that you had to bring them into this... REALLY!? Quit trying to be a dick and just enjoy the music. You like Skynrd and yes they made the Original EVERYONE ON EARTH KNOWS THAT OK! AND NOTHING WILL EVER COMPARE TO THE ORIGINAL ALSO SOMETHING EVERYONE KNOWS!

  • @malodorous1994 whats the matter dude, i dont get it. why so angry?

  • One word..lyrics

  • shinedown had no right to ruin this song.. you cant perfect, perfect..

  • @russell1704 Deftones did it too.

  • @rowdyjoe1000-

You sir, are a tonedeaf douchebag who couldnt tell good music if youre life depended on it. To say Shinedown is even comparable, or even worth mentioning in the same sentance as lynyrd Skynyrd is Absurd.

Here, I have provided a link to Wikipedia, to read about the meaning of the word absurd. I doubt anyone of your obvious intelligence would know otherwise.

    Lastly,

Ronnie Van Zant has more talant in his hat than "Brent Smith" all together.

    Lynyrd Skynyrd is the best

  • This IS the most "KICK ASS" version of this song!!

  • one of my favs by them..

  • This song changed my life.. I'm 19

  • I was there and remember it well. Great words to live by.

  • To me, this is one of the best rock songs ever made & performed. Really no need to re-invent the wheel after this one. Thanks Ronnie & Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • Ronnie van zant (the lead singer of skynyrd) had two daughters, one of which married a member of shinetown...

  • Awesome classic! One of the greatest rock songs by one of the greatest bands.

  • no disrespect but shinedown does them right by there cover of this song and there is much meaning as2 y they play the song2 begin with

  • @rowdyjoe1000 Shinedown? Their version of this song SUX compared to the LIVE VERSION with Ronnie singing. You must've been smokin some GOOD SHIT to think It was good. I have seen both versions LIVE and Skynyrd ROCKS!!!

  • no one does this song better than Ronnie! RIP brother

  • i agree with what ronnie vanzant said how much ths song means to him, it is the same thing that my own grandmother had told me.

Dancing with his mother to this, my song, my hallelujah to Lynyrd Skynrd, who I had the privilege of seeing live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in Oct 1975! Been walking to this tune ever since! I am drunk with admiration and loving life to the fullest and this song has meaning beyond description! Love me, hate me, I'm just a Simple Man! HooAhh!
