uh..... there are a few things i think are missing. first is that your missile seems to be flying lag pursuit. which doesn't happen. missiles typically fly lead pursuit, since it's the most energy efficient. the second thing is that your missile seems to be flying only slightly faster than the F22... which shouldn't be the case. i think the F22 is at least mach 2 capable, but missiles would typically fly at least at mach 3 or 4, which will mean at that kind of distance it'll close really fast.

Well, no current missile in the world has the circuitry to follow a target moving that fast and at those angles. Let alone that the missile would fail after over-shooting the target. But he did say it was just a test ; )
One thing you didn't know, F22s have a paint that makes them invisible to enemy radar, so its kinda impossible to launch a sam at one, and plus, what pilot is so retarded that he doesn't throw down chaff and flares?
@RTSmaster787 Not "invisible"... there's no such thing. It just has a very, very small radar cross-section (RCS). And you don't know for sure that it's a radar-guided missile... could be a heat-seeker (though heat seekers usually have a shorter range than radar-guided... about 10 miles compared to 30+ for radar.) And if the F-22's weapons bay is open, its "invisibility" is lost. It's like sending up a big "I'm here! Shoot me!" message.

Hmm.. for more realistic contrail effect, use two particle sources for the rocket exhaust (or more). Render the puff balls with a short life span and a more elongated longer lived particle trail perhaps textured with streaks to form the reminader of the contrail. That simulates what they look like in reality 'cause the fuel generates water vapor (the puff balls) amd has oxides of metals (the longlived snake of smoke).
Depends on the missile. A sidewinder might, if you got lucky and fired it in the right vector, because it follows the infrared emissions off the hot metal on the wings and the tail. It wouldn't chase like that though. Sidewinders move FAST. If you manage to outjink it once though, it's usually dead in the air. Radar guided missiles would be nearly impossible to lock up, but maybe if you are close enough and have a high angle of attack (IE lock from the top or bottom.)
Problem with that is, high angle of attack, makes it easier to avoid the missile. (That is, the more perpendicular the target is to the firing line, the harder it is to hit, sorta.)
Yes, the stealth characteristics don't render it completely invisible, it just severely limits the detectable range. Assuming you knew the F22 was there, you'd have to close to detectable range to fire. Which is well within the F22's detection range. Kinda like using a SMG against someone with an Assault Rifle. Except, in the air, at hundreds of miles per hour.

i do animate, and i have seen better things in my class, and they obvisously didnt put much time into it, the point is it sucks, so there shouldn't be any excuses, if he put more time into it would be better

Hmm.. for more realistic contrail effect, use two particle sources for the rocket exhaust (or more). Render the puff balls with a short life span and a more elongated longer lived particle trail perhaps textured with streaks to form the reminader of the contrail. That simulates what they look like in reality 'cause the fuel generates water vapor (the puff balls) amd has oxides of metals (the longlived snake of smoke).

Depends on the missile. A sidewinder might, if you got lucky and fired it in the right vector, because it follows the infrared emissions off the hot metal on the wings and the tail. It wouldn't chase like that though. Sidewinders move FAST. If you manage to outjink it once though, it's usually dead in the air. Radar guided missiles would be nearly impossible to lock up, but maybe if you are close enough and have a high angle of attack (IE lock from the top or bottom.)

Problem with that is, high angle of attack, makes it easier to avoid the missile. (That is, the more perpendicular the target is to the firing line, the harder it is to hit, sorta.)

Yes, the stealth characteristics don't render it completely invisible, it just severely limits the detectable range. Assuming you knew the F22 was there, you'd have to close to detectable range to fire. Which is well within the F22's detection range. Kinda like using a SMG against someone with an Assault Rifle. Except, in the air, at hundreds of miles per hour.
