  • i can use map but i cant use gps.. HELP!

  • cooll

  • I like to geo cache, I got my handheld from gpssatnavreviews (.) com

  • AMANG !! GREAT PHONE ! n95 is better than iphon !

  • are u using wifi ?

  • btw is the gps free or do you have to pay network charges?

  • if you dont pay extra for the voice navigation, do you still get the blue route path and the aroows pointing which way to go?

  • but why is some phone has a gps?

  • can gps or maps transfer to another phone. cause i need gps on my phone. my phone is nokia 6263.

    help

  • No, not on that phone.

  • dude wat phone are you using?

  • As per the title, Nokia N95

  • Yes, great video!

  • Great demo!

For GPS, can you speak to the N95 like with the Instinct? Example, say "coffee"... and it will list local coffee shops and provide audio directions to your chosen location...

  • I know that with the phone in general, you can use word commands, but I'm not sure if it works with the GPS as well. I've never bothered to use it anyway lol, it got old for me after my first phone did it for the contacts.

If it doesn't do that for the GPS, you could probably download something that allows you to do that as there is SO MUCH you can download for the N95 ^^

  • i seem to have a problem loading my gps maps..loading stops on 90%...anyone know what is up?!

  • Hmmmmm, I've never had that problem before....Have you tried it without any memory card in the phone? The maps you downloaded may be corrupted.

  • when i open maps it doesnt trace my current position...HELP!! hehe

  • Umm, there might be a way to remove it, I'm not sure.....

I don't think so tho, if you look on the internet there is a way to do a soft reset, I can't remember the key combination right now though.

You could also update the firmware, it's too complected for me to explain here, so you might want to just look on the internet for an explanation to that as well.

  • nice video.

  • do u need internet connection to start gps on n95

  • No. An internet connection is not necessary at all if you download the maps using your computer. If you don't want to use your computer, the phone will download the maps when you need them and will use the internet for this. If you have already downloaded the maps, it doesn't need the internet.

GPS is a free system that runs on satellites anywhere in the world that you can see the sky so there is never any charge for GPS, only some providers will charge you for maps/ software/ subscription

  • thanks

  • where do i download the maps?

  • There is a program "Nokia Map Loader" You can download this from the Nokia website, or search "Nokia Map Loader" in Google and click on the Nokia website link.

After that, you connect the phone in mass storage mode (or you can just use a memory card reader) and start Nokia Map Loader. It's pretty straight forward after that.

P.S. Before you connect the phone or memory card, you must open the "Maps" application on your phone at least once so that a directory can be created on the memory card.

  • DO i need to pay to be able to use the gps feature?

  • If you look through the rest of the comments on this page, you will find the answer for your question as I have answered it a couple of times before...

  • duh!! now i feel like a dumbass ... i could have just browsed thru the comments instead of waitin for ur reply.thanks anyways

  • HAHA LOL all gud =]

  • does this mean, it will also track you and wen u move it will mov, or is it just a still map like google map

  • Yea, when you move it will also move, like a dedicated GPS unit in a car.

  • why is it on mine, it doesnt have an option for plan route, instead, i have find place, use this place, extra services, map options, settings, about. i always get "no gps position" when i press route from.

  • For the "no GPS position", you will need to get a GPS position first (if your GPS signal has locked on then it won't show this "no GPS position" sign) but if you haven't gotten a GPS lock before, then it may take a while (maybe 5 minutes standing still in an area with a relatively clear view of the sky.

As for the lack of the "plan route" option, I think that it says "use this place, etc" when you have a landmark selected and you click on to this menu. Does it show those options otherwise?

  • Abaixe o novo software fika muito Tsao

  • What language is this?

  • I have a N95 8gb & use it on the TV to watch films like Spiderman (Came with phone) & home video's, like visits to museums etc. We also play games, Chat on IM, send SMS, Emails, Watch things like Youtube, go on eBay, Google Maps, Listen to Music, make Phone & Video calls. & also make free VoIP internet calls. All via the TV Out & a WLAN Broadband connection, + a nokia SU-8W keyboard. I never knew u could do so much with a phone until I got this! I personally think it's better than an iPhone

  • LOL, some retard marked your comment as spam, probablly an asshole Apple fanboy!

Yea, I agree. It's a great phone to take on vacation if you wanted to stay intouch with the world while not having to carry a laptop with you. The fact that there is also a 5MP camera, music player, GPS, etc, etc makes it a great tool.

Infact, this phone is actually more advanced than the iPhone, and while I don't know the exact specs on the new iPhone, I think the N95 is still better than the iPhone =)

  • People dosent must to compare N95-4 with the Iphone, the Nokia is definitely way bette than the Iphone.

  • here i gotta go now...subscribe there in my channel i subcribed your channel..see u....

  • why everybody ask the same gay thing???is that free????do i have to pay something????uhauhauhauha disinformed peoples...

  • Finally!!! The first intelligent comment on this video!!!

I know, it's always the same f**kin stupid questions. If they bothered to read the billion other answers that I've given to the countless questions just like theirs that they've asked, then they would have an answer but noooo, they're far too lazy to look!

  • heheh true always when i get my phone to show some friend and you know the way we use to shou the gps thing..the first question is...ooooooooo how much do you pay for this service????uhahuauhauh...but here r u really from new zeland??? and i thinked that i live in a far way country hehehe

  • Lol yea, I do live in New Zealand lol. Your profile says Colombia, what's that far away from?

  • hehehe colombia is just a fake country name that i use...uhauhauha i live in ireland...but i wasnt born there...

  • how does it work??..do i have to pay montly??...who do i pay? nokia or my phone company which is AT&T in the US....help is appreciated..thanx

  • How does it work? lol. Ummm....Well, it uses satellites in the sky, and the satellites send data which is time data to the phone (for free) and the phone uses that to work out the position of itself on the earth.

To get the turn by turn navigation like this, you have to pay (that is, you have to pay for the voice, you can get a route planned for free using the phone) [[[Please read the rest of my comment below]]]

  • You have to pay Nokia, not AT&T although, if you use the phone internet (data) network to download the maps, you will have to pay AT&T for the data usage. You can avoid this cost by using your computer to download the maps, or by using the WLAN on your phone.

To get the voice guided navigation like this, you have to pay a subscription fee. If you search in Google: "Nokia Maps pricing" and click on the very first result, that should take you to a page with the pricing.

  • hi i just got n95 8gb....ok sooo the gps in order for it to track where i am do i have to download the map or how??? and it uses satilite right soo its free??? im so confused lol if u can help i appreaciate@!

  • Yea, the GPS is what it uses to find your location which is free.

You have to download the maps for it, and you can either download it via your computer or using the internet on your phone. To download the maps on your phone, you will have to pay the normal data rate your company charges you.

You have to pay to get the voice guidance, but this is pretty cheap.

  • can you use a different mapping program that would use the gps instead of nokia maps?

  • Yea, there are many. I've heard of (but not tried) Route 66 and Garmin XT.

I currently also have MG maps which gives you maps on your phone, but not voice guidance.

Just search it up in Google or something similar and you'll find a lot of different software.

  • do u need to pay for the service? as in the the voice when saying the direction?

  • Yea, you need to pay for it to give you the actual directions WITH the voice. You can get the directions part for free, but it won't guide you turn by turn, you'll have to look at the phone. You can use the "tracking" function for that.

  • how i download them

  • Download Nokia Map Loader from the Nokia website, and connect the phone using a USB cable with it set to Mass Storage Mode, and then start up Map Loader, and click on the maps you want to download (click on the country or state that you want to download [you have the option to download entire countries or states])

  • No, any TV should work with this. Just as long as you have the phone output set to the correct settings (i.e. Pal or NTSC and wide screen 16:9 or normal 4:3) Does the phone not display at all when you plug it in?

  • turkish language .she just saying its good phone but she prefer a iphone

  • is the gps free to use ?or do u have to pay for the service provider?

  • iv got same tv as u its a sony 42"

  • didnt the GPS lagg?

  • Huh?

  • Sorry , i don´t Know. I take this tool for Germany, and it´s great.

  • take Route 66, this is the best Nav.-Tool ever.

  • Yea, it looks good but it doesn't have maps for New Zealand yet T_T :(

  • You must connect to the internet and wait for a while and then maps downloads automaticly where is your target on the screen.

  • nah, not if you use Nokia Maploader to download them to your phone using your computer. That way you can choose which maps you want to have downloaded.

And my target on the screen? Huh?

  • yes the phone shows on display tv ... y chouse that end that's all on tv dosn't show the display of the phone y must do a settinga on the phone ? end what is that settings ?

  • hi there im in new zealand... how much to download the map? and do u need to pay everytime you use it?

  • The maps are free to download and for the voice, turn by turn navigation like this, you have to pay a fee. The fee varies depending on how long you buy the service for and for what areas you buy it for.

Sorry about the late reply, I didn't get an email about your comment.

  • is it free or do you have to pay for it cause in france we do have a free internet access with phones so i wondered is it a special cost or is it included in internet cost ?

  • It's a speical cost

  • Nice one! Hi from Hong Kong!

Is it a paid service or is it free?

  • Hi, for the simulation, it is free, but for the actual service you have to pay. You also have to have some sort of internet access, 3G or WLAN to download the directions. You can find the prices on the Nokia website but range from (Euros) 7.99 to 9.99 for a month but you can purchase them for a week to three years.

  • UPDATE: With the new firmware, you don't have to have an active internet connection. One update I really like :)

  • Hey man when i connect my N95 to my TV it comes black and white and not in colors, can you tell me why? Like any possible ways that u can switch it back to normal color same as ur phone?? :D

  • O, do you know what color system your TV uses? It will either be NSTC or PAL.

My TV supports both color systems.

To change what color system your phone output's to the TV, go: Menu >> Tools >> Settings >> General >> Enhancement >> (scroll down to TV OUT) and click "OPEN". When inside there, go to "TV system" and click on it and change it to the system that your TV uses.

(NOTE: I see in your profile that you're from America and American TV's usually use NTSC)

  • hey thanks man! It worked (= yeaa didnt know how to switch it back to ntsc and didnt know where to find out and honestly i dont feel like reading on the users manual lol mine works on a 3G i dont know it looks black from the back not plum and the lens cover has gone and my battery is 1200 mAh

  • do u have the same specs like mine i dont know i thought im gona have the 950 mAh with the lens cover in the back but turned out its like the 8GB but in black and silver and its a hot phone i love itt, has alot of features, i own a N73 as well and i really loved my n73, how much u got urs?

  • Yea, my specs are different to yours. I think that yours' is the N95- 3 which is the 3G American version of the N95. This has been released because America has a different version of 3G to Europe, Asia and New Zealand.

  • The N95-3 is the same as the N95 8GB which has just been released but the N95 8GB works on the same frequencies as the normal N95. My N95 has the same specs as the original one.

The only thing is, the N95 8GB can't take Micro SD (or Micro SDHC) cards which means that you are limited to only 8GB of storage space.

  • So do you think if i buy the 4GB MicroSD High Capacity for the N95 will it work?? Bc i heard before i bought it, they told me that the problem with the 8GB that if u lose the phone or damage the phone, u lose the whole memory in it which is true but they also mentioned that i could use 4 GB storage with the new N95-3 do u think will it work? Bc the only memory card that has this capacity is Micro SDHC.

  • i have an 8gb card in mine and it works fine :)

  • Its free to get the map, but u have to pay to get a turn by turn navigation! Nokia N95 would tell you how much per packages, u got 1 year licence u got 3 u got 7 days it depends on which one u want or u can also buy a city guide for ur own City!

  • i think for a 3 year licence, its around $105 or something i dont know it shows u on the device.
