  • Joe Montana. Greatest ever

coming from die hard air force fanatic

  • number 55 for Air Force was my substitute teacher yesterday!

  • Joe was simply the best.

  • Irish WR Chris haines addmitted to Cougars coach Bill Yeoman that he was actually out of bounds for his game-winning catch in the '79 Cotton bowl! That conversation took place a week or so later in Hawaii. Montana overcame hypothermia at half-time to lead ND over a talented Houston squad in 16 degree temps in Dallas that day.

  • i think Ken Stabler deserves a mention, his Oakland Raiders had IMO one of the best passing offenses of all time - Stabler, Branch, Biletnikoff, and Casper.

  • @ firelancer69

First of all its Favre, not Farve, dummy. The top 5 is this:

    1) Montana

    2) Elway

    3) Brady

    4) Young

    5) Favre

  • @13adamkelly Great list. There really isn't a wrong one as long as it includes any five of the big ones - and we all know which ones they are, lol - but this is a solid one.

  • Man he is the best college QB ever! Except for Tebow and please don't make a big deal over it PLEASE

  • Several times I shut off the radio only to find out the next day that the Irish won the game. I know it happened at least three times. God bless Joe Montana and God bless Notre Dame.

  • montana falling on the ball instead of taking a knee !! LOL !!!!! That's old school !!!!!!!

  • Great Video. Love Montana. He is my all time favorite. If your team is down by 20+ and there is less than a quarter to go, Montana will win it for you.

  • i dont know what you guys are talking about i think joe and brady are both top two. number one is up for grabs for either of them.

  • @drepop803 Brady is nowhere near Montana's overall talent

  • yeah thats what all you ppl that cant get past the past say. ali will always be the greatest, babe ruth will always be the best, no one will ever surpass jordan, etc. i know some old time folks that'll say that montana is nowhere near unitas' overall talent. no matter how much talent comes along you ppl always say the classic players are and will always be the best.

  • you are joking right

  • Your Nuts Elway over Montana and cutler could be number 500 not 3rd

  • Someone said Elway was better than Montana? Niners 55, Broncos 10!! Any questions?

  • @doesyourgodcomeinaca yeah but Montana had so many weapons around him and Elway practically had to carry the team on his back. I love them both personally but dont feel Montana is better than Elway. Mainly because Montana had a team around him and offense with players outta a dream. A dream team. The Broncos didnt have the talent SF did. And i love Joe Montana big time. They both are great. Like two football gods..one havin a few good plyrs around him while the other had a tm of miraculous plrs

  • @AbsintheColour Elway took the Broncos to 3 super bowl in the 80's my man so the had a pretty solid team it is that they kep running into a NFC buzzsaw every time.

  • @doesyourgodcomeinaca yeah, you are right. The NFC was monstrous! And the 49ers were a better all around team with a better all around coach. I dont mean to take away from Montana. He was so small and fragile looking and so timid..with the heart to win like a LION and the intelligence of 10 Nfl players combined. I hate making excuses but truth his Dan Reeves never gave Elway the opportunity to let loose and be wide open till it was too late. And at the beginning Joe didnt have all those weapons

  • @AbsintheColour I don't know how true the statement is it took Terrell Davis to finally get a ring for Elway lol, but Denver did snap the NFC 13 game Super Bowl streak then win another the next season. 5 super bowl appearances isn't two shabby for one man, but for legacy does winning back to back titles make up for 3 losses? Easily Eway is in the top 5 or 10 qb's of all time.

  • idiot

  • My top 5...

    1. Montana

    2. Elway

    3. Unitas

    4. Marino

    5. Bradshaw

Manning and Brady are interchangeable somewhere in my top 10.

  • My Top 10: 1. Johnny Unitas 2. Joe Montana 3. Fran Tarkenton 4. Dan Marino 5. Terry Bradshaw 6. John Elway 7. Steve Young 8. Sammy Baugh 9. Dan Fouts 10. Brett Farve or Peyton Manning
  • Great!

  • the best is when the announcer says "showing off his 9.3 speed" so old that its when they still ran the 100 YARD dash

  • Actually every once in awhile they still run the 100 yarder in high school. But mostly it's the 100 meter...

  • my top 5

    montana

    elway

    favre

    brady

    manning

  • no Fran Tarkenton? what about Johnny U as well.

  • wanna watch me on cam? MSG me on MSN. ID is in my profile. N

  • Montana is still the greatest, over 34 come from-behinds (including Superbowl Super Bowl XXIII). Even before Jerry Rice and John Taylor made that Roster Joe was winning Superbowls and making comebacks! It could take another century for a QB to truly eclipse him.

  • lol they really should put rudy in there

  • My top 6

    Montana

    Marino

    Favre

    Brady

    Manning

    Elway

  • bradshaw ?

  • top 5 of all time

montana (#1 cuz he won the big game a lot)

fouts (#2 cuz his passing led to dynamic chargers offenses)

elway (#3 cuz he kept coming back after dissapointments and won back to back super bowls)

marino (#4 cuz he didnt win any super bowls but still held every passing record after retirement, three were eclipsed by brett favre)

staubach (#5 cuz he was captain comeback and with him the cowboys were never out of a game, won 2 super bowls)

  • LOL. That's your top 5?

  • My Top 5

    Montana

    Elway

    Bradshaw

    Farve

    Brady

  • Yall stfu about tom brady, he's only so young and for all you haters, put yourself in his shoes, how would you feel? And I bet Peyton Manning or Eli wont win another ring in their career. But my top 5 favorite qb's are Montana, Elway, Favre, Marino, Young.

  • Montana Magic!!! He looked great even then...

  • who did the fighting irish actually fight? it sure wasnt the germans. cowardly irish claimed neutrality in 2 world wars and lit up the streetlights of dublin so hitler could bomb london

  • we fought the brits for 800 years, who did you fight?

  • Montana >>>>>>>> Brady

  • Tom brady can win 18 straigt games but can't win the one that counts. so Tom Brady can suck my balls. Giants all the way baby!!!!!!!

  • I bet Charlie Weis is cheating at Notre Dame too. Dare me to heckle Charlie at the next game?

  • I'm not gonna call them the patriots I'm gonna call them the cheatriots

  • john elway is an icon for the NFL he waz the best QB ever

  • TOM BRADY has equaled MONTANA and has 10 years to play

  • Not really. In addition to owning most of the post seson passing records, Montana is 4-0 in the Super Bowl. Brady is 3-1.

  • wow you're funny. check back in ten years buddy.

  • lol one of the worst performing qb's in super bowl history

  • yah, Brady sucks. I'd much rather have Eli Manning. Brady is so overrated. I don't know how he had 50 TD's this year. Brady is so overrated. Eli and the Giants will easily go to 4 of the next 7 superbowls and win all four unlike Tom Brady who only won 3.

  • brady cheated, so shouldnt be mentioned in the best ever conversation. he even cheated against the rams. thats starting to come up now

  • you're so totally right bro. You know he cheated all this year too. Bullshit they didn't use cameras all year you just know they did. It was most obvious vs. The Giants on the record breaking play, did you see how they ran the same play 2 times in a row? No one does that, Brady was fed signals for sure

  • they should'nt call him Belichick they should call him Belicheat!

  • hey bro, do you think Tom Cruise is gay?

  • only 3 .......

  • Tom Brady only has three rings. He's pathetic

  • Tom Brady is nothing without all his weapons on offense.

  • @USMCwi03 Are you serious? What weapons did Brady have from 2001-06? He had Correy Dillon for two years in 04 and 05. He won 2 Superbowls with NO weapons and one with only Dillon.

The Patriots of the 2000's are very similar to the 49ers of the 80's. Both had a great QB with no weapons in t he first half and AMAZING defense and coaching with great offense and average defense in the second half of the decade. the difference is the Patriots lost one of thier 4 appearances, and they lost it on D.

  • @USMCwi03 u r an idiot. Montana had the best WR in the history of the game! Brady won 3 superbowls with fucking recievers like Troy Brown

  • I aggree. Jack Nicklaus is better than Tiger Woods too. Jack has more won more majors. Way more majors

  • I would of love to see him beat the cowboys 92 and 93, two years from 55 point ass whooping of Elway... but it wasn't meant to be. What seperates good from great is they play extra great in the biggest stage... outperformed Marino in his greatest season, in the BIG SHOW... not against the Bills or Cardinals. Sophomore beat Doomsday D last minute TD pass... hyperthermia won the Rose Bowl.

  • Joe is the greatest qb ever by a mile. He was it.

  • In a league of his own Montana... what good is all that arm strength with to heart and drive to win... Montana out performed Elway and Marino big time. Peyton did great last year and farve year is amazing but Montana was great as rookie... all the way to retirement... he beat the 94 49ers with the Chiefs.

  • Criqui sounds like an auctioneer from 01:01-01:10.

  • 1Joe Montana

    2Tom Brady

    3John Elway

    4Dan Marino

    ....

  • couldn't have said it better myself!

  • AGREE!!!

  • You're forgetting Steve Young

  • 1.Leo Montana

    2.John Elway

    3Bret Farve

    4.Dan Marino.

I don't put Brady in the greast ever cause the Pats got cauu hating so there ore he cheated also.

  • Thanks for putting this up here. Cool Video

  • it's all bout vince young

  • no one like JM...

  • Joe Cool. 4 Life.

  • go Joe go

  • I believe this was the 1st of the comebacks

  • truely

    one of the greatest quarterbacks

  • The greatest.

  • i second that

  • Doesn't this look like the 1950's. Not because of the black/white screen, but because the kicker kicks straight ahead style which ended in the late 60's... Maybe this is a conspiracy. This is really 1954...

    Just kidding! But looked strange.

  • Toe kickers flourished well into the late-1970's.

  • @SkeffingtonP Yeah. Someone probably went through all that trouble to make you think that some guy from the 50s is actually Joe Montana. Because that is important. The conspiracy is afoot!

  • Tom Terrific owns Joe Cool.

    'nuff said.

  • Joe Cool owns Tom Turd.

    'nuff said.

  • awesome !

  • Joe runs, he pumps, he throws, complete to anyone and everyone, Joe, the cool guy, Joe, the quiet guy, the simple guy. Joe, the cool kid, the one we all love, the quiet guy who could pass for 450 yards, 15 yards at a time, Joe the only guy ever who knew where the receiver would endup on the field better than the receiver himself, it's halftime, niners up 30 to nothing, JOE.

  • @4khora76fatbas

i love joe montana but he is an asshole off the field

    unlike steve young

but joe montana was the best qb ever FUCK TOM BRADY

  • @RayWilliamJohansen Is Joe Montana really an asshole? I ask sincerely. I have never heard of any bad report about his attitude or manners, only that he's somewhat shy and not exactly the life of the party; mostly laid back and retiring. I know he failed as a football analyst primarily because he never says much. But I've never heard anything bad about him. Tom Brady used to be a sweet kid, but he's been "Belichicked" -- brainwashed. It's a cult they have up there in NE, not a ball club.

  • @kayper54

i dont know but i heard he was from someone

    that met him

and he also said that steve young was a down to earth guy

and tom brady is a great qb but those 3 superbowls were won by the kicker and the last one

he had a chance to do a comeback BUT FAILED

either way joe montana was the best qb of all time

  • @RayWilliamJohansen I regret never having seen him play at his best. I didn't start paying attention to football until after he started with the Chiefs, which were probably not his peak years; his arm always seemed a bit stiff by then. I've seen some amazing QBs since then, but I feel annoyed at having never seen either Joe or Unitas play. I feel like I can't have a valid opinion of what a great QB is; how can I when I've never seen what are considered two of the best to ever play?

  • @kayper54 u idiot u seen a great quarterback if u seen elway or manning

  • Smooth Joe, Cool Joe, the best ever!

  • Joe, the greatest QB ever

  • It's so weird to see how some of these plays have been "advanced" lol. Like you can just kneel now, Joe, you don't have to roll on the ground lol. And what's up with that kicker's style?? I feel sorry for the guy who was designated "dive in front of the extra point" man lol. Never looked like he was having fun, after having to do that three times.

  • awesome videos guy thanks

  • Joe Montana rules!!

  • Gotta love the Irish :)

  • ersatz is completely right ... Montana is Ali to Unitas' Tyson ... Who the hell thinks Tyson is better than Ali? Your one in a million ersatz, but of course your entitled to your opinion. Mine is, Joe Cool is the greatest of all time! Elway comes in a close second, but Montana owned in the Super Bowl.

  • ali is better then tyson u dumbass

  • There will never Be another Joe Montana Jerry Rice and Jim Brown

  • joe montana is the best qb in the history of football. no diss to the other big names but there will never be another montana.

p.s brett favre is all hype. one sb win, and endless interceptions= not a great qb.

p.s.s manning is good but he is a not on the level. win more super bowls and stop losing big games and then we can talk. one super bowl win doesnt place him at the top of the list.

  • omg people. montana is a jerk. he was great in his own way like Rice. but fuck any of you for not recognizing Unitas as the greatest. Montana lol...he was great, but to say Montana is the greatest qb to me is like saying Ali was a better boxer than Tyson...common sense slaps me in the face and says ummmm lol. and Peyton manning...? argh.

  • C'mon People enough with comparisons. Stats I have to give it to Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, heck even to Steve Young have a better passing percentage than Joe Montana. But let me ask you this one simple question? If the game is on the line and your team is down and needed a miracle comeback who would you want to see as a QB? Peyton or Joe. There's a big difference between Great Players and Good Ones. Joe never chokes in the biggest games of their lives!!!

  • Yeah, i'm from England and he was the reason i got into American football as a kid. Two minute warning? Over to the Maestro....absolute genius and great leader...its like he had ice in his veins. There are lies, damned lies and statistics!LOL Joe is the greatest of all time :)

  • I have been a Colts fan since 1976. I love Peyton Manning. He is a great QB. But he is no Joe Montana. Montana was the best that ever played. And people that say Montana was surrounded by talent doesn't know 49er history. The first Super Bowl Montana won, the runningbacks were Bill Ring and Jeff Moore. WRs? Dwight Clark (who was good) and Freddie Solomon. So, you tell me where all this talent is????

  • As a Chief fan.. I appreciate Joe Montana doing the great things he did and for coming to the CHIEFS most Big names are afraid to come here....

  • Chiefs suck

  • ha burn

  • Montana is Mr. Comeback. Remember SuperBowll XXXIII? What about the first game against the Eagles in the `89 season. How about the Monday Nighter that same year against the Rams. Remember the Monday Nighter against the Broncos when he was a Chief?

Montana had no equal. Peyton is great, but hasnt shown that he can do the same under pressure....has he?

  • Joe won SB's with help. Peyton is such a good quarterback, but because he doesn't orchestrate comebacks, he's not given enough credit. Maybe

that's because the offense Peyton is in scores

so many points that they're really not in a situation

where they have to do a comeback.

I love Joe Montana. Forty-niners were always my favorite team because they made football fun to watch. The Colts are seen this way now in this decade. Hopefully Peyton will get his ring(s).

  • Loved Joe, but I kind of think Peyton maybe better? Thoughts?

  • how many super bowl rings does Peyton Manning have? ZERO! Montana is better to have, even though Peyton can throw better.

  • montana is better by far

    i just wanted to say

PEYTON HAS A SUPER BOWL RING NOW!!!

  • Peyton has 1 ring and 3 to go to match Montana.

Peyton's biggest obstacle to winning 4 rings is a guy named Tom Brady.

Brady may be the one who matches Montana's 4 rings after this next season.

  • montana would piss on peyton manning, no one is no where near montana, no one ever will be, hes th best ever and alwasy will be

  • oh yeah, oldschool shit....joe is the best...we are fighting...
