@scuffieduffie Yes, these 4600 V2s and V3s are Solex versions that were only sold in America. Some Solexes have the front brake lever hooked up to the throttle so that when you squeeze the brake lever to activate the brakes, the same cable, or a second cable, also activates the throttle at the same time. When you let out the brake lever, the throttle opens...so you are normally at full throttle on these versions.
Wonderful video! It's great to see what actually riding a Solex is like (I've wanted one since 1984!) I'm having a hard time finding one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg or actually runs well and/or is close enough to where I live (St. Cloud MN) to be able to realistically obtain it (the last nice one I saw online was just north of Columbus Ohio)
i have a 3800 . i wonder one thing . The 3800 acclerates by it self without any gas handle , could i fix a gas handle for the 3800 ? i've just got it like a present so i was just wondering .
On most 3800s, the front brake lever is also the gas handle....operating the right-side brake lever also closes the throttle. Is not yours like this?
To install a gas handle like you see on this yellow 4600 on your 3800, it would be necessary to also change the handlebars becasue the diameter is different...3800=23 mm, 4600 V2/V3=22 mm.
Thank you for the kind words and for looking at my videos! There are not many Solexists here, but there are a few. Please check out my 4600 website, the address of which can be found in the description of this video.

So they are full throttle all time and when you pull in the breaks the throttle goes down.
maybe comes out in some cases but if you want to check it ore something, you will have to brake all the time..
i just rip off the hand throttle of my sparta-met and fix it on.
mm. i think im going to bed.. its almost 5 o'clock in the morning...

Who said French designed machine were worthless?
A Solex is a wonderfull machine, it just never dies...!
Congratulation for the great work! This 4600 is really magnificent!
Actually i didn't know there still were Solex's in the USA...
Here in France you can find them very easily, I have two 3800 and one 5000, but really, these 4600 must be worth gold!
Keep up the excellent job!
greetings from France!
