  • If you want to pay taxes, THEN PAY THEM ASSHOLE! Nothing is stopping you from sending the government a big fat check as a donation. IN fact, just keep track of how much you use and send a check you stupid bitch.

Also, you want these services you talk about than STOP GIVING GOVERNMENT SERVICES TO ILLEGAL ALIENS! !!! They are not entitled to them. The only government they are entitled to is a prison cell or a deportation ride back home.

P.S. You lost prop 19 so SUCK ON THAT BITCH!!!

  • Marijuana advocates stop complaining about taxes. Id be happy to pay taxes on weed if it meant i was able to pick up a pack of joints at a gas station on my way home from work. The money we would have to pay in taxes would still probably be less than what you have to pay dealers right now anyways.

  • OK I found it. In the description it might be good to use: "Nadene Herndon" to make it easier to find.

  • Levying a tax is the ONLY way we will ever make this argument attractive to the opposition. Why would someone vote yes to legalize something they have never tried. Taxes make it more legitimate and makes sense. I would MUCH rather pay taxes on my weed than continue to live as a criminal.

  • im 16 and i totaly aprove this act, time we get REAL FACT instead of being bullshited for so long about a plant that killed no one and made people's life better after all. And i agree with the fact that only adult should be able to buy it, to prevent abuse and educate teens on what it is, pros and cons.

    LEGAIZE AND TAX NOW!

  • This is a good step.

It meets policy in the middle by providing money for it's commercial presence.

It puts the drug wars in less of a broad emphasis by relying on homegrown cultivation, allowing our enforcement to refocus.

It allows for a damn good reason to increase tourism profits, a-ha! Take that, Amsterdam!

  • I don't want to pay the State of California a goddamned thing except a boot up their ass! Screw them and their overspending and treasonous coddling of Mexico's illegal scumbag citizens! As for cannibis---legalize and go tax someplace else. I can see us dumping bales of pot into SF bay in protest of their taxation / robbing and spending it on welfare, housing, medical care for the entire 3rd world of parasites! California---You SUCK!

  • Let's legalize all drugs and NOT tax and regulate them.

Fuck the State and all the drug warriors.

  • I share that sentiment. I don't smoke MJ but I would be damned if I am all for "paying my fair share" for any activity that the government has no business sticking their noses in in the first place.

  • Whats your opinion on taxing tobacco and alcohol?

  • I don't think they should be taxed, albeit I understand that excise taxes are imposed on them. I suppose it is better than any form of income tax at least

  • How can you throw some one in jail because of something they do to themselves. Fuck this government I'm starting to hate this damn place....

  • This country has not been a free country in a long time, as everyone has made it their agenda to enact their "moral" values on the rest of us. I love this country, but I hate what it is becoming

  • Cig smokers are falling over dead from cancer, not marijuana smokers! And why is that Miss "4 times more cancer-causing" jenn1ifer??? Get a clue!

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Jenn1fer...fine!! IF you believe that bullshit your talking about in your comments..then use a vaporizer or as videogeek27 suggested..MAAAAGIC brownie! :D

Or of course you cud just stop believing the lies and open your eyes and ears to the truth! Either way: hahahaha i dont give a shit, smoke on!

    Peace!! ;)

  • oh ffs jenn1fer just gtfo.

Go protest your bullshit campaign somewhere else. heres a question have you smoked pot? cos if you havent then you dont really know the experience.

  • I think our friend Jenn is basically saying she wants a magic brownie

  • I see you're quite the critic concerning marijuana, I assume with all of these comments you made, you can easily back it up with cited sources. I would love to see them, please do tell me your sources, I would prefer APA format, but MLA is ok too. If what you're saying is true, this shouldn't be difficult for you. A dieu mon cherie

  • Smoking one marijuana cigarette deposits about four times more tar into the lungs than a filtered tobacco cigarette.

  • There are also many long-term health consequences of marijuana use. According to the National Institutes of Health, studies show that someone who smokes five joints per week may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a full pack of cigarettes every dayMarijuana contains more than 400 chemicals, including most of the harmful substances found in tobacco smoke.

  • Marijuana is an addictive drug1 with significant health consequences to its users and others. Many harmful short-term and long-term problems have been documented with its use. 1Herbert Kleber, Mitchell Rosenthal, "Drug Myths from Abroad: Leniency is Dangerous, not Compassionate" Foreign Affairs Magazine, September/October 1998. Drug Watch International "NIDA Director cites Studies that Marijuana is Addictive." "Research Finds Marijuana is Addictive," Washington Times, July 24, 1995.

  • For those reasons, the Institute of Medicine concluded that there is little future in smoked marijuana as a medically approved medication.8 8"Marijuana and Medicine: Assessing the Science Base," Institute of Medicine, 1999.

  • Any determination of a drug's valid medical use must be based on the best available science undertaken by medical professionals. The Institute of Medicine conducted a comprehensive study in 1999 to assess the potential health benefits of marijuana and its constituent cannabinoids. The study concluded that smoking marijuana is not recommended for the treatment of any disease condition. In addition, there are more effective medications currently available.

  • Smoking marijuana also weakens the immune system4 and raises the risk of lung infections.5

  • Users can become dependent on marijuana to the point they must seek treatment to stop abusing it. In 1999, more than 200,000 Americans entered substance abuse treatment primarily for marijuana abuse and dependence. Attending MA, Marijuana Anonymous just like Alcoholics Anonymous.

  • Advocates have promoted the use of marijuana to treat medical conditions such as glaucoma. However, this is a good example of more effective medicines already available. According to the Institute of Medicine, there are six classes of drugs and multiple surgical techniques that are available to treat glaucoma that effectively slow the progression of this disease by reducing high intraocular pressure.

  • In other studies, smoked marijuana has been shown to cause a variety of health problems, including cancer, respiratory problems, increased heart rate, loss of motor skills, and increased heart rate. Furthermore, marijuana can affect the immune system by impairing the ability of T-cells to fight off infections, demonstrating that marijuana can do more harm than good in people with already compromised immune systems.9

  • In addition, in a recent study by the Mayo Clinic, THC was shown to be less effective than standard treatments in helping cancer patients regain lost appetites.10 10"Marijuana Appetite Boost Lacking in Cancer Study" The New York Times, May 13, 2001.

  • The risk of using cocaine has been estimated to be more than 104 times greater for those who have tried marijuana than for those who have never tried it.12 12Marijuana: Facts Parents Need to Know, National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health.

  • Consider also that drug use, including marijuana, contributes to crime. A large percentage of those arrested for crimes test positive for marijuana. Nationwide, 40 percent of adult males tested positive for marijuana at the time of their arrest.

  • In road side studies, 1 in 3 reckless drivers who were tested for drugs, tested positive for marijuana, it's more harmful than we all thought.

  • In a 6-3 split decision. Justice Paul Stevens said that congress has a moral responsibility to change the nation's laws regarding medical cannabis use for medical patients. In writing the decision, Justice Stevens did not find that the federal government did not exceed its authority under law when federal government officers raided medical marijuana patients with California state recommendations

  • The city of Long Beach is looking into prosecuting dispensaries and other businesses that provide medical marijuana, City prosecutor Tom Reeves issued an editorial that essentially amounts to kicking in the door with guns blazing. Reeves directly relates dispensaries to "a drug dealer standing on the corner" and disputes the notion of the businesses as caregivers.

  • In August, Cooley and Sheriff Lee Baca informed all county mayors and police chiefs via letter that they considered such over-the-counter sales as ILLEGAL, including encouraging cities to permanently ban the dispensaries

  • Steve Cooley, District Attorney for Los Angeles County said Thursday, all medical marijuana over-the-counter sales dispensaries will be prosecuted, targeting a practice which the initiative approved by California voters over a decade ago. Saying the vast majority of dispensaries in Los Angeles County, about a 100% of which are operating and dealing marijuana illegally in the city, need to be dealt with

  • The CIC determined that marijuana smoke was clearly shown, through scientifically valid testing according to generally accepted principles, to cause cancer. Consequently, marijuana smoke is being added to the Proposition 65 list, pursuant to Title 27, California Code of Regulations, section 25305(a)(1) (formerly Title 22, California Code of Regulations, section 12305(a)(1)).

Marijuana smoke is being listed under Proposition 65 as known to the State to cause cancer

  • Who the fuck is going to pay taxes on weed

  • i would if it was legal!

  • @atl881

    Umm...me....

  • @knoose

Why should you have to pay a tax on somethin that was given to you and everyone else when you were born. Its your right to be able to use it freely.

  • Why did they pick such an unattractive and uncharismatic person for this ad, sex sells people!

  • great video and it makes me want to donate seeing we actually have an organization like MPP

  • People who are against legalization tend to be evil control freaks... or just mindlessly stupid

  • Yeah sure.(*cough* idiot)

  • Great ad spot!

  • No, don't tax me. Allow me to keep my money and send my children to private school.

Fuck this approach to getting the government's foot off of our necks by paying them. Extortion rackets are not something we should EVER give sanction to, nor should we continue to sanction the violation of our individual rights!

Decriminalize ALL things that adults choose for themselves, that don't violate the rights of others.

  • I agree with that except that taxation has not hurt alchohol sales . If we cut our ridiculous military budget(over 600 billion for 2010 ) we could pay for all kinds of things without any new taxes . Republicans have tried to blame taxes on welfare , which is about 5 % the cost of our military . I would rather see a tax on pot than see people jailed . Decriminalization is the worst of both worlds , still illegal, and zero tax revenue . Legalisation is the only way to go .

  • Not just adults. That's too group rights for me. I'm 17 and why shouldn't I be able to own my body based on an arbitrary state definied age?

I'm a libertarian and I support individual rights.

But yeah legalize and DON'T tax and regulate.

  • @GNAA9000

Marijuana reform will never happen if you only accept radical changes like that. It's not going to happen, better come back down to reality.

Taxing and regulating is the only way marijuana reform will happen, otherwise the laws will continue to stay the same.

  • its like with smoking cigs and stuff. gotta be a certain age. and im down to pay the tax on it because our state REALLY needs the help right now.

  • This will not really allow untaxed self cultivation. Only isgn Jack Herer's Initiative in California (CCHH).

  • I agree 100%!!!

  • Gov telling people what they can and cannot do.

    "War on Drugs"

    "War on Poverty"

    "War on Terrorism"

    All the same nonsense.

War is when criminals really take over.

  • need to change camera angle or something. This woman stares at the same card throughout the spot. Good material though.

  • great vid

  • Mustache on 0:11

  • Lol that lady looks like she is staring into a oblivion i dont smoke i use to wasn't for me but ya it should be legalized.

  • i live in california and watch my fair share of tv. i have only seen jokes about this but never the actual ad. i realize this is probably a funding thing but............ it is such a huge topic right now that that thing should be given a spot on the news at least. beyond the web, its almost a blackout on the media side.

  • FUCK OBAMA. he had his chance to legalize it. fuck that motherfucker

  • Comment removed

  • sorry we can grow tobacco and brew beer legally just as long as we dont sell unless regulated

  • Keep up the great work.

  • The state needs to stop taxing the crap out of us and spend the money they have wisely

    fuck taxation

  • Two words i thought id never hear from some ones mouth in the same sentence

Tax and me or Tax and Us lol

  • everyone should watch this

  • when the hell is Oklahoma going to be considered for legalization i know its a far fetched thing to think of but it would be nice to hear some actual thought put into it

  • I have a god giving right to Cannabis. If it was not safe why does the FDA have Marinol on the market?. Do some reading and you will see who is right and who is wrong. Then vote on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Legalize it..

  • Well said my friend

  • That's a little extreme but I think we'd have more freedoms if more people thought along the same lines. As it is right now, we're all seen as worker drones in a massive system that values human freedom only to the extent that it increases productivity. Laws are designed to protect the collective more than the individual; as a result, we have a higher percentage of our population in prison than any other country. We may have more material wealth as a whole, but only as a brainwashed mob.

  • they obviously wanted a non-stereotypical pot-head

  • agreed

  • People are paying attention. Voters are paying attention.

We need all types of people to pay attention.

THC shrinks cancerous tumors. Google THC Cancer and see!

  • this world needs to understand, we are willing to pay taxes for this, we are willing to pay our share to this plant safer than alcohol that could save everything. California is tearing apart..face it. LEGALIZE

  • Damn, I thought this was about regulating and taxing TV spots, not pot.

  • I approve of the sentiment but they couldn't have made a better comercial?

  • Agreed. But seriously, it goes to show you how misplaced and idiotic our government is when science is quite definitely against them... and when they are willing to continue to IGNORE people who FUCKING WANT TO PAY MONEY TO THE GOVERNMENT.

  • prohibition doesn't work

  • They keep reuploading to edit the videos content they had a black cop originaly

  • seriously? that's messed up :P

  • One can drink alcohol til one needs a new liver and one can smoke ciggs til one gets lung cancer. But God forbid and that the end of a work day one unwinds with a joint that one can't overdose on.

  • Legalize It!

  • I had an idea last night when i was baked for a country where people can smoke weed all we need to do is fund raise and buy an island mabye even get celeberties to chip in like cheech and chong just an idea

  • stop re-uploading the video MPP!

(so people can glance at the enormous amount of views)

  • i honestly think the tax and regulation would prob cause a drop in economy other businesses would lose because of this

  • Nope, the economy desparately needs a new business that is legal. Just think that in order for people to afford cannabis, they need to work and working is good for business. Cops would no longer focus on nabbing a robber for possessing MJ but focus more on the actual crime. If the courts, prison system and the hands of investigators are free of stoners, then they can focus on theifs, murderers and rapists. MJ can really clean our society if it is regulated and taught to be used responsibly.

  • your wrong

  • thats why i dont think it will work pot is supposed to b something u can grow in your fuckin backyard it aint supposed to b illegal or even taxed and regulated prohibition aint working and niether the tax and regulation of it would work.

  • growing tomatoes aint illegal either but who does it? 1%?

  • You guys are rating him down but he makes even more sense than legalizing for taxation. Decriminalization is the way to go, fuck taxation.

  • why then drug dealers and catrels have control still if just decrimi

  • no if you totally decriminalize marijuana any smoker could grow his or her own crop, smoke whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. legalization implies taxation and legality of possession, not the ability to grow.

  • ya but nit everyone knows how to grow or have the equipment for it and we are lazy we can make fries and burgers for cheap but mllions of us still go to mcdonalds. IT would also allow gangs to have control of some selling instead of government famrner and medical marijuana gorwers having control of growing and selling and taxing growing would be allowed why wouldnt it be as long as it mets some kind of code and you have a safe enviorment and space and stuff u need to grow

  • Lets put it this way so you can understand my point. Right now we are in a Prohibition much like alcohol was under at one point. When they decriminalized alcohol did the Al Capone types still continue to run speak easy's and what not? No, because the profit was no longer there, they turned around to legitimate bars, yeah you still need a permit to serve alcohol in a public place, but in private you can serve, consume, and create whatever kind of alcohol you want.

  • No I undertand both sides we just wont know until a law is writtin but as like alchohol and tobacco you can grow them if you want legally not to many do so i dont see why it would be any different for weed bc all in all even if you can grow not too many will do it its not easy you know its a 3-6 month process which take time money and equipment for certain strains of bud

  • *facepalm*

You really dont know the consequences of it dont you.

  • wow you're an idiot.

    i hope you're a troll.

  • ya'll are doing a great job. keep it up!

  • i called SF KGO and said i was dissapointed they chose to go against free speech and block this ad.

the debate is upon us and it will be over soon. we will not rest until the prohibition on cannabis and HEMP dies throughout the americas.

  • Im pissed un private the original video with 46k view your supporters worked hard to get those views.

  • If you want to show your suport for the legalization of marijuana go to norml(.)org, click on take action, then click on what can I do, then click on contact repersentatives. From there you can send a prewriten E-mail to your state repersentatives in suport for legalization of marijuana or print one out to send yourself. Together we can make a difference!!!

  • Did it months ago, probably do it again soon. And so should everyone else watching... There are at least 2 stoners trying to help, be a 3rd, 4th, or 100th. Thumbs up if you've done this already or will RIGHT NOW with ctrl+T so it doesn't interrupt precious youtube!

  • What the fuck happend to the original video with 46k views just only after 2 days of upload. I sent the link out to sooo many places for about 12 hours alltogether. Im really disturbed.

  • Agreed, I had this linked on the main page of my blog. Disappointing!

  • Consider who stands to loose money from the legalisation of cannabis,Dwell on that ,, Think of the lives lost and lives ruined,Innocents ..Old women and children. This is an issue that touchs people very intimately ,, people who have never touched an illegal substance.20 billion dollars a year ,, People die in a charade played out for 20 billion dollars a year .Never one ounce of progress is made. But we cut a check every year ,Want to see the results? Click my name and read the comment section..

  • i dont wana pay taxes on my shit... i grow my own

  • marijuana is a gateway to terrorism!

  • really?

  • no... it mite be. one time in command and conquer i picked the terrorists when i was high, so there you go.

  • What?

  • more like a gateway to FEEELS GOOD MANN

  • lmfao!

  • Actually more of a gateway to cool facedness,

  • Go to Amsterdam - they treat you as a valued CUSTOMER not - a vicious CRIMINAL.

  • Good luck california

  • I gave up on this shit. Don't fuckin legalize it. Don't want my money? Fine, my dealer would be more than happy to take it

  • its TIME!

  • Saying that people want to pay taxes on it is pushing it too far!

We want to legalize marijuana as it is a constitutional right to pocess and consume it as it is a victimless crime and not because it can bring in money!!!!!!

    Stand up for values MPP!!!

  • people just wanna smoke weed and not get hassled this is the only way to get people to think about it

  • you won't get anywhere in your country if you stand up for your values.

  • You're right, but it doesn't really matter in the end. Once it's legal I'll grow it out front and regulation can lick my hairy ass. That's the beautiful thing about it. It's s weed. We could start sowing it all over the sides of roads, like it used to be...

But yeah, fuck taxes. I have no intention of giving the state any of my money. This is just a talking point right now. In the end, Uncle Sam can suck a dick.

  • they need a hot chick

  • I just dont want people who smoke it for pleasure abuse it because that will ruin it for the people who realy need for medical issues.

  • This ad is pushing for the complete legalization of cannabis. That means anyone over a certain age can use it for whatever they want.

  • that's not the complete legalization then...that's regulation moron

  • No shit - legalization, taxation, and regulation is the only way this is going to happen. The legalization that you speak of is never going to happen so you might as well drop it from your mind. People will never want their kids to be able to legally get their hands on pot.

And no need to be a faggot about it. We are on the same side here... I'm assuming.

  • Anyone who has ever smoked weed knows that it should be legal just as everyone that has had a beer knows that alcohol should be legal. We aren't a Land of the Free until we can do whatever we want to ourselves without harming others.

  • You're right, but most people who are adamant about prohibition are people who have never tried the substance they fight against. It is unknown to them, so they fear it and fight it. Same applies to any drug. I used to think acid was 'bad', but once I tried it I realized that it, just like tobacco, alcohol, and weed, is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, illegal drugs account for less than 10,000 deaths a year, while alcohol takes 100,000 and tobacco kills 440,000. Prohibitionists are ignorant.

  • It's important to note that not one of the 10,000 deaths from "illegal drugs" is directly related to the ingestion of cannabis - the most widely used illicit substance. "Zero tolerance" and supply control without effective harm reduction compounds the social issues involved.

Far more harmful substances than this are legal and regulated.

  • That's right. The most dangerous illegal drugs are cocaine and heroin, which are addictive and can cause OD death. Funny thing is, heroin is just an opiate like so many legal prescription medicines and cocaine is a purified stimulant similar to caffeine. These illegal drugs are already legal and available in many forms. Hell, you can order coca leaves online as a tea and grow opium poppies in your back yard. Yet cannabis, with 0 social harm, is demonized and not allowed in any form.

  • Marijuana is legal too in the form of marinol a synthesized from of delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol.

  • Yes, and it sucks in comparison. There are helper canabinoids in natural cannabis that aren't found in synthetic THC. The more expensive, non-natural. less effective form is the one that's legal. Say 'hello' to the pharmaceutical industrial complex.

  • Legal age should be over 25 I think. Because you dont want the lazzy, burn out effects of pot to hamper youngsters who are pursuing an education.

  • You can smoke and still go to college. Alcohol is more likely to fuck up your chance at college than weed.

  • Weed helps me study. I can lose myself reading for hours on end when I'm high. Not so easy when I'm not. It has been seriously recommended by some doctors for ADD. Better than giving kids prescription methamphetamine, don't you think?

It affects people differently and it can be used in various scenarios. It also depends on the strain. You can use it to help study, relax, discuss, watch TV, 'trip', sleep, and stay awake, all depending on multiple variables. It's a diverse medicine.

  • If marijuana becomes legal, I will move to california.

    No joke

  • It's past time! Many police even agree that it's time! Come on people!

  • You're ignorant too! Maybe if you smoked a little weed you might get rid of your brain cramps and think for a change!

  • eLLRIdE420 FUCK YOU its not a drug its a dam tree

  • Looking at the 9 thumbs down you have for your comment vs the 3 green thumbs up I have~I would have to conclude that you're in fact the "dumb fuck"! I have SO MUCH EVIDENCE supporting the positive benefits of marijuana for medicinal purposes that I can't list it all on you tube!

  • a plant can't be a drug

  • I am a pot smoker myself but i disagree with what you just said. A plant can be a drug. However just because it is a drug doesn't mean it should be illegal.

  • drugs (in German "drogen", in Nederlands "droog") are dried plants (medical effective), "drugs are any animal, vegetable, or mineral substance used in the composition of medicines; any stuff used in dyeing or in chemical operations" - Webster 1913

  • The reason that alcohol haven't improved the economy is because many crimes and police resources are used on what drunk people do. Cannabis, does not make you violent or as irresponsible as it makes you when you're under the influence of alcohol.

If you look at a crime scheme and compare it to alcohol consumption, they follow eachother pretty good.

  • You must be a dealer..

  • Yeah right! Wake up dude! MJ is less addictive than coffee, less dangerous than booze and cigs!!

  • it's actually not addictive at all.

  • Even better! : )

  • you must be dumb as fuck, because keeping it illegal causes more harm then good...

  • I don't smoke weed anymore, and according to your profile your 19, so I am older than you, making you the kid... So do yourself a favor and do some research, knowledge is power arm yourself.

  • Sorry to say bro, but lifesblood is right. Have you ever smoke a single drag of a cigarette? Have you ever took even a tiny sip of alcohol? If you have then you have already taken gateway steps to using "HD" that are worse then Cannabis. So are you a heroin addict, or maybe vicodin?

  • Don't you love people that can't think for themselves? lets listen to the politicians who spoon feed us shit...
