@hellbentonmma You're right that it's not the version used in MiJ but it was from the series of concerts they recorded. The original album has the best of the 3 nights.

But they released editions with all the material they had. So there's the original album and the remasters/expanded ones. all under the same name

@waffles032 Sorry, I misunderstood you. However to say that they never got the solo right makes it sound like they tried to. That's not what the band are or were about. They would never try to replicate what went down in a dull studio on one particular take. Probably every solo on every take of the recording was different. To knock out the same solo night after night, year after year is not fulfilling creative or fulfilling.

@waffles032 The reason the solo is always different is because Ritchie Blackmore always improvised his solos (i.e. made them up as he went along) with just a few exceptions (such as Highway Star).

But I agree with you that the original "In Rock" studio version was a much better solo than this one. The main "Made In Japan" solo from the first release was also much better than this one.

@ThePurpleChannel This is from the "Made in Japan" tour, but not the "Made in Japan" album. This is from the "Live in Japan" album, which was only released in 1993 but featured the 3 nights from the "Made in Japan" tour. The "Made in Japan" album only features one of the nights.

I've been browsing the videos in your channel. WMG blocked the night of the 16th, so I'm guessing that that is the one included in the "Made in Japan" album.
