  • Stuff like this is the reason behind me wanting to become a astrophysics :)

  • I got here from fluffee talks. HOW?

  • This is my first ever comment on youtube. I just had to..

Learning about events, phenomenon like this is actually mind boggling. Special thanks for explaining all this so simply...

  • ¡¡ Espectacular !!

  • Are you down with the Cygnus?

  • 1:22 Not being religious here.. But looks like an Angel

  • @PhotonUponLight it does not

  • @spongeofCUM hahha love the name

  • @PhotonGAYDUST ok your name is the best one.

  • I'm watching this at night time best to watch

  • Best part of this video is the fact that Cygnus is a few thousand light years away and in the video they refer to the star as "in it's final stages of formation". In reality, that star was born a few thousand years ago... thinking about stuff like this blows my mind.

  • @IamKKKFORLIFE i dont apprecaite your racist name. please change it

  • 0:20 So humbling, yet so empowering.

  • another amazing video! the universe is just so beautiful

  • /watch?v=znTADuUjQJ8

  • @ClanJAX yea, thumbs up from me mate. i remember being that frustrated. I forgot there was even ads on yt. wonder why i forgot...?

  • @ClanJAX Install adblock plus on firefox and you won't have to deal with ads at all

  • I am always wishing the narrators of these things would express themselves relative to time. Formin? How long does it take? Being born? How long? Final stages? How long in our years I always wonder. Soon to quiet down? How soon.

Only because we think relative to our own clocks.

  • Almost as mind blowing as our existance.

  • @Srekwah existence

  • amazing

  • ...happy main sequence day young star

~sorry about being a few millennium late !

    =you big hydrogen ball

  • that was just fantastic! how amazing and clever of the men and women who have made it possible for a commoner like me to see in such vivid detail, and even be able to grasp what is happening., how, and why. I love the pursuit of knowledge and reason and truth that science is able to provide. Thanks so very much for posting this, and especially Dr J for explaining in such a straightfoward and understandable manner. Keep em rolling u good folk at ESO!!! J :)

  • @jeebersjumpincryst If we lived in a theocracy we wouldn't even know about this stuff.

  • @FreeTh1nk3r well, thats just the thing - - its because of a nation that was built and founded on christian principles that we are here now. yay for christian based science! now watch THAT top comment get obliterated, lol. as jon la joie says - - try "not giving a fuck" improves quality of life on a linear basis. fuck Im BLAZED!!! fuck I LOVE science in ALL its myriad flavours. love all u fellow science lovers and conventional morality "dont give a fucks" too. stay well, friends :)

  • @jeebersjumpinCOCKS lol funny name.

  • ah, our new home. What misery will we bring with us?

  • It is exciting to be able to see this stage of the star formation process. I suppose that the next part of the star's life will be the planetary system completing its final formation stages.

  • Nice!

  • 0:21 - 0:35 STARCEPTION :D

  • i love outer space its actually fun learning about stars and planets and stuff I ♥ space!

  • epix

  • thanks for blowing my mind :D

  • These videos make me feel so small.

  • So, I'm curious. If we know how a star is made, and what materials it is made of, could we make a small star here on Earth? I mean, we can make anit-matter, which is produced from jets of a black hole, sooo...

  • the speaker's vioce is terrible. change him

  • Looking at space and things like this scary me T_T Don't you ever just look at the sky and say to yourself, "how is this possible?" I always do and no I don't believe a god created this Universe and yes, I do have a religion I am Catholic.

  • @Aji2358 Think that allllll the time.

  • @tootsierolldpman That's good I thought I was the only one lol

  • @Aji2358 Contradiction much?

  • @5gunpowder4sand pretty much but I consider myself an atheist so yeah

  • i love how it just zooms and zooms and zooms and zooms.. awesome!

  • "At the outer edges of these cavities, the gas has been compressed into shock fronts by the pressure." What pressure where does the pressure come from?

  • 767676

  • I'd be rebelling against my parents too if I was named S106IR.

  • This guy is the only only guy who can sound more awesomely nerider than Sheldon Cooper.

  • so interesting i love this kind of stuff

  • "Combined from invisible and infrared light" :3

  • I created a desktop image with my snap z pro. I simply hit command/shift/3 and then it snapped it at where I paused the image that I liked. Next, I uploaded it to I Photo to crop off it to what I wanted. Then, I went to Apple preferences and chose the pic for my desktop image.

  • Aw, baby star.

  • Pause the video at 0:00.

Go to /watch?v=awaz1aNTNL8 in a new window.

    Start both at 0:00.

    Profit

    ???

  • cool

  • This reminds me of my "wife I'm married to but not living with who does not want to divorce but is living with another man"

  • @CognitiveNetwork Lol that my mom! except shes not with another dude

  • @CognitiveNetwork Sounds like you need to sneak into her house, rummage through her purse, and find your testicles..

  • We need to move past money and the monetary system. It's the only way we are going to be able to explore our galaxy as a species.

  • A question in my mind for long time. Star born and die repeatedly. Heavier-than-Hydrogen materials are formed during this cycle. Thus, Star should be smaller and smaller? Eventually, no star is formed due to lack of sutiable material?

  • @sramctc That is exactly right. On a long enough timescale all the hydrogen will be used and all the stars will begin to go out. Things are gonna get mighty cold here in the cosmos

  • @tshmeag Thanks you !!

  • @sramctc

You know what's weird? I just started wondering the same thing about a month ago and now, suddenly, I'm seeing it brought up repeatedly. Almost as soon as I started pondering the question.

  • 00:01

  • God! .. I think the beauty of the cosmos destroys him !

  • really? 3 douches disliked this!

  • @cbone6754 some shithead haters (-_-)

  • Ya the universe was totally designed for life. meh n_o

  • whats not to like?

  • there is no god

  • @NZealandRules : definitely no god nor goddess !

  • If I didn't know better I'd say those were angels

  • @Sunni4lyf you don't know better

  • @canuckeeeeAK youtube troll ^_^

  • i like to listen to these videos with the sound off, just look at the pictures :))

  • The narrator should audition for C3PO in the next Star Wars movie.

  • at what distance is that star from us?

  • @shoa31 If he did this - He sure is! This is awsome

  • Space helps me forget about all the crap going on here on Spaceship Earth.

  • @shaurz

More like primitive isolated rock earth.

We're but a breadcrumb to a pie of resources that is our solar system. It's pathetic that we don't make a bigger effort to get off of this planet. People don't understand what we're missing up there. We're missing an amount of resources that would make everyone on the planet rich by today's standards, just as we're mostly rich compared to people in the middle ages. The personal resource well would greatly expand if we had resources from space.

  • Saying that star formation takes place is like looking at cloud shapes and thinking that cloud shapes are hugging, fighting, praising God, etc. Textbooks BOLDLY show THEORETICAL STAGES of star formation as if they were scientific fact. THINK: If our sun and planets evolved out of a spinning disk, the sun should have MOST of the solar system's angular momentum, which is doesn't. Although the sun has more than 99% of the solar system's mass, it has less than 2% of the ang. momentum

  • @ForeverFlame88 So how do you think it happened? Godmagic?

  • @ForeverFlame88 thats a pretty big argument. I agree that there is too much dogma in science today too. then again, gravity is a very weak force, but on small(oops, on 'close' ) scales, is EXTREMELY strong. (still worded wrong) read any s hawking? Im not close minded enough to say in 10-20-30-50-100 yrs ppl will not laugh and mock the best theories of 'today'. imo, quantum gravity success/ gut awaits a yt inspired phys undergrad. but what do i know... . .

  • This kind of thing really fucks with your head "In a good way" :)

  • 3:10 ... distance so short and even there we can not getting now(((

  • What retards disliked this?

  • @TheAnubisDrake Christians

  • @Tristanvash38 That's an idiotic and immature assumption and I'm not even a Christian.

  • @UpwardsFallings but I think we have the right to make such mean assumptions since they are the ones always harassing us

  • @dudu1125 Well, they didn't start it this time. The assumption the guy made was uncalled for and it called for UNWANTED religious arguments, started by an Atheist ironically.

Also, they don't really harass us (I'm an Atheist too). They just say "repent" or "god is real, science isn't" or "I'll pray for you". Nothing that graphic usually.

  • @UpwardsFallings True for the most part. Though I have been physically attacked many times for my lack of faith, so I disagree with "they don't really harass us" line there. I get the feeling you grew up in a more secular area than I did.

  • @TheAnubisDrake Yeah, true. That's probably because I've only came out to my family, who love me. My sister has attacked me a lot in a bitchy manner, even though in the next day we're still close and playing around. In the internet, Christians rarely go far by swearing to us because they'll go against their bible and they would look like hypocrites. But I agree, even saying "you would go to hell" is an attack.

  • @UpwardsFallings Not to mention the bible outright says it's OK to abuse and kill members of other religions and nonbelievers.

  • @UpwardsFallings Agreed, though you must admit it a likely group.

  • @UpwardsFallings no assumption here. It is idiotic and immature for you to assume that I'm "assuming". I'm from Mississippi, AKA the "Bible Belt". I live in DC now, and I understand intimately the reasons I said Christians are most likely the ones to dislike this video. I was told that we are here to suffer, believe in Christ and that's all you need, or you will go to hell, why are you Secular Humanist, why do you believe in the devil, etc. They think Earth was made 6K years ago

  • @TheAnubisDrake 'cause it's too much for their poor brains :)

  • @TheAnubisDrake

Likely the kind of retards that believe the world was created in 7 days.

  • @TheAnubisDrake Creationist.

  • lots of violence inside such beauty. figures.

  • jesus I want to be there.. so beautiful.. lol

  • do they have a sh17 forming region?

  • All this amazing cosmic big bang and cool down so a few banksters can make money.

  • Thanks for the upload but please post more often! Love the videos.

  • beautiful

  • boring

  • Another great upload✓ mate,Thanks for sharing.

  • Can someone tell me if the first image is edited, or can Hubble actually take HQ photos like that?

  • @SRDTL Most likely hubble, although the colors can be edited from time to time.

  • @SRDTL Hubble is not the only telescope we have in orbit either. We got lots now.

  • Beautiful video. Thanx spaceRip

  • WOW WOW WOW WOW EVRBDY SAY LIKE SO LIKE THIS!!!!! UP !!!

  • FUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Fucking beautiful

  • Yay SpaceRip delivers yet again!

  • What is the name of this music?

  • I was kinda hoping they would zoom out and compare this nebula to the Orion Nebula and the Carina Nebula. Without it it kinda feels like the video is lacking something.

  • i feel like playing mass effect now..... XD

  • one day compuers will be powerful enough and telescopes will be powerful enough to that we could look into these formations 3D mode rather than just "taking a guess" 3D mode.

  • In a lot of these videos the images are just amazing. Yet the are usually composite images from various telescopes. What do the these nebula and other objects look like to the naked eye?

The Universe seems like a beautiful place from what we're shown, but what does it really look like?

  • @Adamas97 Not as colourful.

  • dat music

  • the backround music, reminds me syberia (pc game) :)

  • @SpaRtanl33tz check out 'is everything we know about the universe wrong'

Its a very interesting documentry! Recommend!

  • i like the captions :D

  • Love it thanks for posting :O)

  • I skipped the add :-)

  • Wow, now that is one of the most beautiful sights i've ever seen!

  • What created the universe? Was the universe always here?

  • I like the 30 minutes videos :/

  • you guys need to make some wallpapers .

  • @TheRealGolden that......would.....bE.....AMAZING!!

  • @TheRealGolden Not the same, but check out the Art of Greg Martin for some pretty wicked hi-res wallpapers

  • @TheRealGolden 1080p, full screen, print screen, crop out bottom bar, there you go

  • @TheRealGolden 1920x1200 or 1440x900

  • @TheRealGolden Select the full screen option and do a screen capture. Boom.

  • @TheRealGolden TAKE ALL MY MONEY!

  • @TheRealGolden

    just google image search it.

    :I

  • @TheRealGolden You can do it yourself. Watch the video in 1080p/720p (for a hicg res wallpaper), and while in fullscreen, await the image you want as a wallpaper (personally I used 0:37). Press fullscreen (a key that is to be found in the vicinity of the "delete" key. Open paint or antoher equivalent program, and press "ctrl+v". Save the image and use as wallpaper. Voila!

  • it really does look like a snow angel :)

  • Spaaaaaaaace. Ok im board in space, want to go back home and stare at space.

  • In the end of the video, a side by side comparison of this nebula with the larger Orion Nebula and Carina Nebula would have been perfect.

  • nice short n sweet vid again

  • FUAAAAAACAA

  • Beautiful. Just beautiful.

  • Writing my Physics Research Essay on Star Formation for my A-Level, and this pops up in my subscription box. Thanks SpaceRip!

  • <3

  • I'd pay Youtube to make it FUUUUUUUUUUU

  • hey look at the end of the url bar FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • @xxautubaccxx mine says 'feedu' at the end

  • spacerip keep uploading so cool and informative videos!

  • Fourth..

  • god damn it!
