Well, after watching all three of these videos, it just goes to confirm that its better to buy these things used with some miles on them (i.e. proven) than to ever buy one new (ridiculous depreciation notwithstanding). I am eyeing the identical truck in the 2006 version for about 28-32k. I will NOT be purchasing one without full dealership documentation as to how many times its been in!

I had a 2002 Range Rover Holland and Holland Special Edition. It was in the shop more than my driveway. The dealers are assholes and expect you to kiss their feet when it should be the other way around. Even with all that said, I still can't help but to love these cars. I was experiencing issues with the air-bag suspension, which had to be replaced, but it ended up being the computer which was causing it the entire time. Mines is a 2008 supercharged westminster edition.

Yeah my Land Rover Discovery has less than 90,000 miles on it and the engine is completely dead. Yeah, its 90,000 miles but most cars these days go to at least 200,000. This thing has been perfectly dealer maintained on schedule with thousands and thousands invested.
It definitely looks like you have a lemon there. How did the dealer respond to your decorations? Did they wash it off with the complementary cleaning?

Consider a BMW X5, or start ordering your vehicles from the factory. When you order, make them understand that you want it built at the beginning of the week. If they can't do that for you, then don't order it. I've ordered several from the factory and every time I've been able to know what day mine was being built on.

haha i owned three land rovers now.. the latest is the tdv8 rangie.. and yes i know it breaks alot especially the electronics, but i kinda expect that everytime i get a new landie.. still i keep on buying them coz idk maybe coz its just cool. i kinda dont mind coz the dealer here offers great service, and even offer to repair small niggles that i dont mind not repairing for no cost .. and they also gave me free repairs for one of my landie which has alrady ran out of warranty!
you should look into an LR3, their not as flashy and fast and cool, but they're way more reliable, that or get a defender, if you can find one, there aren't any electronics in them except air conditioning and radio, all the rest is machanical, and the keys don't have computer chips in them, anyways, just something to think about i guess

This is an awesome vehicle. My mom bought a Range Rover Rhino Edition in 2000 and upgraded to the HSE last year. She had no problems with the 2000 and so far no problems with the 2007 HSE. This guy simply got a bad 1. Range Rover should just give him a new 1 instead of going back to the dealership for repairs. There's no way I'm paying for a $96,000 vehicle with only 4,000 miles on it and keep getting it fixed over and over and over again. Give me a new 1 or my money back. SIMPLE.
most people have no problems with them, I have driven 70,000 miles no worries, all manufacturers have issues, look at Merc here in the UK people are at their wits end with many of them! suggest he drops it to the dealer, as to people looking and hysterical laughter no one seemed to be bothered! When you get a good range rover its the best car to own, hope he gets it sorted out.
I don't care how often these things break down! I want one just like that so bad! By the way, why don't you fix it yourself, even though its a rental, it will make you a better mechanic, if you at least try fix it. Its not that hard, just get a repair manual, and look for how to fix it.
i love my 06 RR s/c, i had some serious issues with it at first, recurring issues, and i was worried that i would have to lemon it, but i took it to another dealer instead and they were able to fix all of my issues... the problem with these are they are all computer driven and if the tech doesnt know what they are doing they can make it worse...
Fantastic mini-series. I can feel the frustration as if I were the one who bought the thing. That said, I am a Land Rover fan, but I know they have their problems. You definitely got a lemon as I have known people who own these cars and have little, if any, trouble. I have a friend that had a '95 Range Lemon, but our mechanic had a '97 Range that was a great car. My uncle's Discovery with over 100k miles has been great too, so I guess it's a crapshoot. if this is your third one, and you still keep buying them, then who's fault is that? Land Rovers are not known to be reliable. Mines not. And if you have the money to throw down on a supercharged RR then go buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo and be done with it.

ok. this is the truth from my exp.. a friend of mine had a brand new LR3 LAND ROVER. after 4 times of suspension failure and few small other things it went 4a lemon .. but i have to be honest we used that babe every other day 4 off road and i mean off road !!!! not driving true dirt trail. it went every were with no problem and the way my friend drove it ( like a idiot ) no SUV would last more than 3 weeks.
I was considering RR last fall. Did lots of online research as well as asking friends and folks on the street with RR's. I came to this conclusion: RR is a gorgeous, $5k/night whore with a host of std's; under her lovely skin is rotten organs. Get over the looks. I bought an 07 LX470 instead. The pedigree and ability of Land Cruiser is at least as good or better than RR, light years more dependable, carries alot more, etc. And btw, the RR seats 4.2 people, not 5, ie rear seats are a joke!
Actually RR or RRSC is are not bad cars but 1/10 of them does either malfunction or just straight defects.Looks and Class wise RR is the Best period. Yes, its true that there are other SUVs on the market but Im sure Rover73 wanted the best so he went with RRSC as he said earlier that he owned 2-3 prior to this model. My reason for not getting RRSC was mainly Tag problem but must of been a sign for me not buying it..I got a Lexus IS-F now which is great on gas, or at least better than RR SC.

oh my god! i just bought a 2008 range rover hse. and i hear they are moving garbage. i hope i dont have to go thru that. i do remember my buddies rover doing crazy stuff too! we went to start it and it didnt do shit. mabey they should stop importing that vehicle to the states!!!!

I too have the 2008 supercharged and have had very similar problems with it. After watching your videos and listening to the frustration in your voice which is very much the same here! I loved the grafitti video and am dying to hear what the dealerships response was... I also have been thinking a lot about this lemon law and was wondering how that worked out for you...The saying (you get what you pay for) Doesn't apply to Range Rover!!!!!!!

i have a LR3 and i got 48,000 miles on it, ive only had one problem with it but its totally sound otherwise, i hope you get your problem fixed and i hope this dosent happen to mine as i have just bought one 2 days ago :( P.S i just moved to palm beach!! :)

Yeah my Land Rover Discovery has less than 90,000 miles on it and the engine is completely dead. Yeah, its 90,000 miles but most cars these days go to at least 200,000. This thing has been perfectly dealer maintained on schedule with thousands and thousands invested.
It definitely looks like you have a lemon there. How did the dealer respond to your decorations? Did they wash it off with the complementary cleaning?

Consider a BMW X5, or start ordering your vehicles from the factory. When you order, make them understand that you want it built at the beginning of the week. If they can't do that for you, then don't order it. I've ordered several from the factory and every time I've been able to know what day mine was being built on.

haha i owned three land rovers now.. the latest is the tdv8 rangie.. and yes i know it breaks alot especially the electronics, but i kinda expect that everytime i get a new landie.. still i keep on buying them coz idk maybe coz its just cool. i kinda dont mind coz the dealer here offers great service, and even offer to repair small niggles that i dont mind not repairing for no cost .. and they also gave me free repairs for one of my landie which has alrady ran out of warranty!

you should look into an LR3, their not as flashy and fast and cool, but they're way more reliable, that or get a defender, if you can find one, there aren't any electronics in them except air conditioning and radio, all the rest is machanical, and the keys don't have computer chips in them, anyways, just something to think about i guess

i have the same problems man! all of my electronics broke down after 1 hour seens i drove it out from the rr shop and i had to wait for 1 week till they fix it AND when they fixed it after a week the kompressor broke and i waited for 2 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an awesome vehicle. My mom bought a Range Rover Rhino Edition in 2000 and upgraded to the HSE last year. She had no problems with the 2000 and so far no problems with the 2007 HSE. This guy simply got a bad 1. Range Rover should just give him a new 1 instead of going back to the dealership for repairs. There's no way I'm paying for a $96,000 vehicle with only 4,000 miles on it and keep getting it fixed over and over and over again. Give me a new 1 or my money back. SIMPLE.

most people have no problems with them, I have driven 70,000 miles no worries, all manufacturers have issues, look at Merc here in the UK people are at their wits end with many of them! suggest he drops it to the dealer, as to people looking and hysterical laughter no one seemed to be bothered! When you get a good range rover its the best car to own, hope he gets it sorted out.

I don't care how often these things break down! I want one just like that so bad! By the way, why don't you fix it yourself, even though its a rental, it will make you a better mechanic, if you at least try fix it. Its not that hard, just get a repair manual, and look for how to fix it.

i love my 06 RR s/c, i had some serious issues with it at first, recurring issues, and i was worried that i would have to lemon it, but i took it to another dealer instead and they were able to fix all of my issues... the problem with these are they are all computer driven and if the tech doesnt know what they are doing they can make it worse...

Fantastic mini-series. I can feel the frustration as if I were the one who bought the thing. That said, I am a Land Rover fan, but I know they have their problems. You definitely got a lemon as I have known people who own these cars and have little, if any, trouble. I have a friend that had a '95 Range Lemon, but our mechanic had a '97 Range that was a great car. My uncle's Discovery with over 100k miles has been great too, so I guess it's a crapshoot. Good luck with your case!

if this is your third one, and you still keep buying them, then who's fault is that? Land Rovers are not known to be reliable. Mines not. And if you have the money to throw down on a supercharged RR then go buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo and be done with it.

ok. this is the truth from my exp.. a friend of mine had a brand new LR3 LAND ROVER. after 4 times of suspension failure and few small other things it went 4a lemon .. but i have to be honest we used that babe every other day 4 off road and i mean off road !!!! not driving true dirt trail. it went every were with no problem and the way my friend drove it ( like a idiot ) no SUV would last more than 3 weeks.

I was considering RR last fall. Did lots of online research as well as asking friends and folks on the street with RR's. I came to this conclusion: RR is a gorgeous, $5k/night whore with a host of std's; under her lovely skin is rotten organs. Get over the looks. I bought an 07 LX470 instead. The pedigree and ability of Land Cruiser is at least as good or better than RR, light years more dependable, carries alot more, etc. And btw, the RR seats 4.2 people, not 5, ie rear seats are a joke!

Actually RR or RRSC is are not bad cars but 1/10 of them does either malfunction or just straight defects.Looks and Class wise RR is the Best period. Yes, its true that there are other SUVs on the market but Im sure Rover73 wanted the best so he went with RRSC as he said earlier that he owned 2-3 prior to this model. My reason for not getting RRSC was mainly Tag problem but must of been a sign for me not buying it..I got a Lexus IS-F now which is great on gas, or at least better than RR SC.

Bro, I'm glad the lemon is GONE!! Once again I say it again, at least 1/10 RRSC are defects..This is coming from a Former LR owner myself! I don't know why! Too be honest I'm kinda glad that I didn't purchase the RRSC mainly due to Gas rising dramatically in 2010..Cayenne Turbo!! Or maybe a GTR Bro!
