Peter died under the Roman emperor Nero maybe in the year 64.Today in the foundations of the Vatican there is his tomb,however Peter not was the first Pope but only the first bishop of Rome.The papacy was invented in the middleages.After his death was made bishop pf Rome Linus mentioned in 2 Timothy 4:21.

the orthodox and catholic church are the church founded under St.Peter, remember how our Lord Jesus Christ said to peter that on this rock his church will be built and the gates of hades cannot enter. "...you are Peter (πέτρος, petros) and upon this rock (πέτρα, petra) I will build My church..." In Greek nouns have gender. It is similar to the English words actor and actress. The first is masculine and the second is feminine. Likewise, the Greek word "petros" is masculine; "petra" is feminine.

Mary was only a vessel used by God, how can you say that then why did he tell john on the cross to behold his mother. The last words on the cross are the most important and he said that. Dont take this the wrong way but the roman church was not formed till Constintine converted to Christianity. he then wanted to move the church to rome. This was the formation of the Catholic Church in 325 AD. The Church that was formed around 50 ad was the Orthodox faith. It was politics, Power and Greed that seperated the Church when The roman church excomunicated the other chruches for not wanting to follow. To this day Orthodox faith is unchanged in theology and doctrin.

Once the great scism happened the roman church became catholic and Orthodoxy was the other branch. They both had mostly the same beliefs. The Father is still the Godhead and proceeds no one.

Peter died under the Roman emperor Nero maybe in the year 64.Today in the foundations of the Vatican there is his tomb,however Peter not was the first Pope but only the first bishop of Rome.The papacy was invented in the middleages.After his death was made bishop pf Rome Linus mentioned in 2 Timothy 4:21.

the orthodox and catholic church are the church founded under St.Peter, remember how our Lord Jesus Christ said to peter that on this rock his church will be built and the gates of hades cannot enter. Our lord knows already what will happen to the ministry of his disciples and it is through St. Peter that the strongest church will be built, thats why no matter controversy and accusations they will give to this church it won't succeed for our Lord sealed its faith from the very beginning.

Christ is the Chief Cornerstone: "Now, therefore, you are no longer stranger & foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints & members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone" Ephesians 2:19-20 NKJV.

@girlsromance First of all, when we look at the Greek of Matthew 16:18 we see something that is not obvious in the English. "...you are Peter (πέτρος, petros) and upon this rock (πέτρα, petra) I will build My church..." In Greek nouns have gender. It is similar to the English words actor and actress. The first is masculine and the second is feminine. Likewise, the Greek word "petros" is masculine; "petra" is feminine.

Over and over you see that the foundation for the church is not a just a man. Its Christ He is the cheif cornerstone.

Mary was only a vessel used by God, how can you say that then why did he tell john on the cross to behold his mother. The last words on the cross are the most important and he said that. Obviously thats a message for all of us to behold our mother. Im Orthodox & we love mary and ask her to pray for us too not worship, but love. Why can i ask my brothers to pray for me and not the mother of God. Didnt Jesus say i am the God of the living and not the dead. She is queen and mother to us all

Dont take this the wrong way but the roman church was not formed till Constintine converted to Christianity. he then wanted to move the church to rome. This was the formation of the Catholic Church in 325 AD. The Church that was formed around 50 ad was the Orthodox faith. It was politics, Power and Greed that seperated the Church when The roman church excomunicated the other chruches for not wanting to follow. To this day Orthodox faith is unchanged in theology and doctrin.

The same rite & revelation, the Catholic Church had to, ADD, to the Apostles Creed, is the same rite & revelation, the Catholic Church had to Add the, filioque. All the additions to the Creed were to combat heresies in the Early Church. The Filioqe was to combat those who claimed Jesus lesser then the Father. If we look in the Jn 20:21-22 We see Christ breath the Holy Spirit on the Apostles. The Spirit proceeds from father & Son.

@hockeyrulesus EXACTLy! The problem with the filioque is that you dont have the trinity anymore. You end with the father and the son as the godhead and from them comes the holy spirit. This means the 3 distinct persons of GOD are not all equal. The Spirit is distinct from the father and the son but equal according to scripture. This was why it was not agreed upon

@mumswording The filioque, in no way takes away from the Trinity. It merely states what the bible teaches us, that the Father, as well as the Son, can send the Holy Spirit to His earthy creation. The Creed in it's fullness, shows us how the Trinity works as, one through the other, as we see Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit, in this way the Son proceeded from the Holy Spirit. The Father is still the Godhead and proceeds no one.

@mumswording You must've misunderstood me. I never used the word "Created" I said the Trinity works, One through the Other. Equal, as the Creed shows. The Holy Spirit PRECEDED the SON in Luke 1:35, and in Jn 20:21-22, the Son PRECEDED the Holy Spirit. The Filoque is 100% Biblical.

@hockeyrulesus Now here is why Orthodoxy is the oldest. Orthodoxy has not changed over the years. The mass, theology, creed have all remained exactly as the apostles formed it. Catholic Theolgy, creed, and especially liturgy has changed from its original roots. Both churches started at pentacost but only 1 is still unchanged. Ideas like the New Mass and the infalibilty of the pope have shown the deviation from the first church.

In 1014, the inclusion of Filioque in the Creed was adopted in the west. Since its denunciation by Photios I of Constantinople, it has been an ongoing source of conflict between the East and West, contributing to the East-West Schism of 1054.

We catholics receive the faith from the apostles, We know the Lord Jesus because of them, because they gave their lives to preach the gospel, And no doubt that the Church of Rome was leaded by Peter were he finally died, the same of st. Paul.
Protestants, adventists, WatchTwerlians, Mormons, etc. do not proced from the apostoles, and get angry when we face them with their reallity, they do not poses the apostolic faith, the true faith left by the Lord to his apostolic church.
