Quick question for all the hard core Six Feat Under fans. I've watched a few of these clips on you tube now, including the soul shaking last few minutes of the final episode. When Nate appears to people, is he supposed to be a ghost, or sort of an inside voice, or is that up to the viewer to decide?
@Mike32587 There are no ghosts on this show. Whenever the viewer sees a living character speaking to a dead one, the dead character is representing the living character's internal dialogue.
After SFU was through I threw my TV away and since then I feel releaved,I care about life instead of having this constant distraction that kept me from thinking freely about anything at all.If you get the message, the true sense/moral behind this show you'd fkng do the same thing. If not you may still 'like' SFU,but you never really LOVED it to the point where it actually touched your heart & soul;period.
This scene is absolutely amazing. i cant get over it. the song in the background works perfectly with the scene and the convo btw nate and claire is illuminating and gives me chills. its so deep and inspirational. this has to be one of my favorite scenes ever in six feet under. and of course six feet under is the greatest series ever.
if only everyone could be brave enough to take chances and "follow their bliss." this show reminds me that we must live life as fully as we possibly can while we can
It's kinda sad. Nate ended up worse at the end of the show than the beginning, because he gave in and played it safe as his Dad's shadow. His death inspired Claire not to repeat the same mistake.
Nate had one of the saddest story arcs I'd ever seen: Married a woman he didn't really love. That woman was possibly unfaithful and died before he could find out the truth. Finally marries the woman he wanted only for her to miscarry and she bleeds out during the whole wedding. Finally finds the right woman but dies before he could start a life together and before seeing his unborn child. I didn't realize how depressing this show was till after it was over
i didn't like claire's character. i think she's unintelligent. some of her scenes really pissed me off. but her brother's dead, of course he's going to say nice things.
my nuts, please. you must be another who found their reality of death while watching this show and were too wide-eyed and open-jawed to pay attention to any character development. again, suck my nuts. please
Hey, let's call each other names and ask for our nuts to be sucked.
Who is so ignorant to think this show has anything to do with the reality of death? I've known no person that has died but I know Six Feet Under is fiction and I don't search for reality in fiction.
I was most satisfied with Claire's character development, but I can also see how you dislike Claire because I feel the same way about David as you seem to feel about her.
hello, you are a ballsucker. i'm just kidding. anyway a lot characters on this show don't see their deaths coming, and neither do a lot of their family members. a big theme in the show is acceptance of death. a lot of people say they feel differently about death after watching it
I completely agree on your not liking David. I used to get super pissed with the way he deals with a lot of his problems; especially after the traumatic episode with the thug.
It made it worse because it didn't seem like fiction. David was a like a real person -- like many characters in the series -- and I hated the reality of that person.
well you have to understand that she is young and finding herself. at that age most people are pretty unintelligent and do stupid shit that pisses everyone off. hopefully we end up in a place where we can let that go and do something meaningful.
too fuckin sad they finished the series in a way there cannot be a revival. although I am not sure if I do want one... that way we all can keep this series deeply within our hearts... a poor revival might destroy everything!
Sure is, it's one of the interesting things he mentioned in the commentary, along with the fast that Rachel griffiths really was pregnate, so after the birth scene, they had to place things, so you couldn't see the baby bump (usually her purse),
GOD I FUCKING MISS THIS SHOW I MISS ALL OF U LAUREN PETER MICHAEL Everyone i miss u all MAY U ALL LIVE LONG HAPPY PEACEFUL LIFES AND FIND LOVE ANYWHERE U ARE I LOVE U ALL THANK U FOR BEING IN MY LIFE AND WAKEING ME UP!
You and me both....I taped the entire series and have watched all 63 episodes at least 5 times each......at least....I never get tired of it.....The other all time fave that I cant believe is gone after only one season is John from Cincinnati!!!!!. What a great show!.
Superstar by Lupe Fiasco started playing(from another open page on my computer) over this scene just as Nate started talking to her but I could still hear what he was saying and I thought it was a part of the scene. It fit so perfectly. You should try it. I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOO MUCH!
I spent my whole life being scared. scared of not being ready, of not being right, of not being who i should be. and where did it get me ?

The finale scene when she finally leaves made me take a major decision in my life,
We cant stay in one place just because is safe, we have to follow what we want, look for independence
