the antenna is for tv. not for 3g. The tv streams over old tv bands that were removed during the digital transition. so you dont need 3g for tv and vice versa

You can send ANYTHING via texting on the VU. Pictures, videos, ring tones, small movies (just dont go over the limit, idk what it is). Unlike most other phones, the vu allows files to be sent ViA texting very easily. Plus, it even supports web pages!

I was recently in a 3G zone, and was able to watch TV on my vu without the antenna. It worked very well and was very fast. The internet was blazing fast, and amazing keyboard. I would recommend the VU to anyone who wants a good phone for texting/internet browsing. It also does a very good job just calling people, no static in the background as far as I know of.

If you go into an AT&T store and ask for a phone specifically for using the internet, they recommend the Vu. I bought one 24 hours ago and am already planning to return it and get an iPhone. The internet is incredibly slow, so if that's what you want in a phone the Vu is not for you. However, AT&T does market this phone as an appropriate phone for web browsing. It's really misleading if not an outright lie.

You have to remember that the Lg Vu isnt really a web phone or they would make u pay on your plan for internet. When you get a Iphone you have to pay $30 more for Internet and the Lg Vu you dont have to pay anything extra if you arent going to use the Internet.

At the 2 ATT stores I went to I told them that specifically what I wanted was an internet capable phone and they recommended the Vu. If it isn't a web phone (which it clearly isn't now that I've used it more) then they should not market it as such.
