  • Hey! I use an astro a40 mixamp pro, and it has optical port on it, and i was wondering if i can use this to get optical audio from my pc through my mixamp?

  • @CakeStep You can, but unless your PC has Dolby Digital Live, your Mixamp won't give you surround sound for gaming.

  • IT SAYS I HAVE TO BUY THIS TO CHAT ON AN X1 ON A MAC NOT TO ENHANCE IT!

  • @Elgindabomb If your Mac doesn't have pink and green plugs, you'll need this.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos it has a plug for both but they arent pink and green

  • @TurtleBeachVideos my mac has the mic and the other jack, and it still doesn't work, do you know where i can get help?

  • Hey turtlebeach. Iv recently gotten a pair of Px5s. I use the Px5s for my ps3 and work perfectly fine but, I wanna use the Px5s for my laptop. The problem is my laptop doesnt have a optical cable out/in or bluetooth. I know i can get The Micro II if i want to hear my game volume through the Px5s but i also want to use the mic to talk. So what do i do :/

P.s - Would i get the same 7.1 surround sound like i do with the Ps3?

    Thanks.

  • @xFlurQz You will need a Bluetooth adapter on your PC in order to get the PX5's microphone to work. Some laptops already have Bluetooth built in. Otherwise, you will need a USB Bluetooth adapter.

You will experience surround sound when watching movies that have a 5.1/7.1 audio stream. Games, however, require a sound card that support DDL (Dolby Digital Live).

  • I have a question: I have a

Turtle Beach PX5 wireless headset for my Playstation 3, and I want to be able to use both the microphone and the headphones on it. So which one do I use? Please reply with answers.

  • @SuperAtomicPickle I don't understand your question. The PX5 works fine on a PS3. You connect the transmitter with the optical cable for game sound and pair the Bluetooth in the headset with the PS3 for chat. It's all explained in the PX5 user guide.

  • Question, I have a turtlebeach x12's, will the amigo or micro allow me to use my headset on the ps3 for game chat? And out of the two, which one would you recommend?

  • @LonelyGamer360 The Amigo will let you use the mic on the X12 with the PS3 for chat.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Thank you for the quick reply!

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Can i connect my zalman mic1 and my audio technica ad700 to this and plug it in to my DSS and have capability to talk over xbox live?

  • @TurtleBeachVideos is there any way I can talk on xbox live with the AD700?

  • @NickyDells573 and a zalman clip on mic?

  • @NickyDells573 I don't honestly know. We don't make either of those products.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos If I want to use my X41 on my mac but be able to hear and use my mic, I only need the Amigo II, right? Any other cable or stuff is included?

  • @2cul2play You'll need the Amigo/PC cable kit which includes an Amigo II and a PS3/PC adapter cable. It's listed in the parts & accessories tab on the X41 section of our web site.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Thank you!

  • So if I buy the Micro II, I can connect to the x41 transmitter and will that also provide the surround sound? Also, will I be able to chat aswell?

  • can i use my xbox x31 on my pc?

  • @JUANORCI Yes, you'll need to buy the PC Chat Adapter Cable from our site though.

  • Can I use the micro 2 on my lap top at the same time as using hdmi output, even though the hdmi carries both audio and video?

  • @MyOwnDecoy This depends on your laptop. The Micro II supports what you're trying to do. I don't know about your laptop though.

  • I bought a $90 sound card so I can get 7.1 surround sound. I've been considering the DPX21 headset, which apparently requires this, which apparently... is a sound card ._. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • @silverthewerefox Keep in mind that if you connect a DSS to a PC without Dolby Digital Live, you won't hear surround sound in games, only in DVD movies.

  • Do they work on ps3

  • @jflood2562 No, PC only.

  • i recently bought a set of speakers with a subwoofer 3 front speakers and 2 rear speakers, in the manual it says you need a 6,7 or 8 channel sound board to use the rear speakers. will this item allow my laptop to use

  • @BritainForGold No it will not.

  • So, if my earphone jack on my laptop is broken, would this be a good alternative? and if so, which product, Micro II or Amigo II would be better for this? I'm using my computer to produce and need a reliable product that would let me use my Beats by Dr. Dre headphones to hear everything just as clear as my original earphone jack would.

  • @ChaseSmith301 Get the Amigo II. It provides headset out and mic in. The Micro only provides headset out and optical out, which you'll probably never use anyway.

  • Well if you use the Amigo 2 on the Ps3, you no longer have wireless capabilities or the 7.1 surround sound from the x41. It turns the headset into an x11

  • @whysogrim That's correct. The X41 is not designed to work with a PS3. For wireless on a PS3, you need our PX3 or PX5 headsets.

  • Comment removed

  • Is this surround sound?

  • @Jojester0004 No, it's stereo.

  • Will the Amigo II turn a DX11 headset into a fully functioning PS3 headset with sound and mic?

  • @QwertyMusicMan The Amigo II can be used to connect the X11 mic to the PS3, but you won't have a separate volume control for PSN chat because it will be mixed in with the game sound.

  • whats the cable called at 3:21? thanks wo ever helps me :P

  • @theugn2 That's our PS3/PC adapter cable. We have a video on our YouTube channel that describes how it works.

  • i have one problem i dont now how to use the x41 chat with my mac uhhhh

  • @theugn2 You need the PS3/PC adapter cable to connect the headset to the MAC/PC with a wire. It can't be done wirelessly.

  • I have a Z6a headset and my qosmio 505x with only 2 audio ports, is there any device that I can use for the Orange c/s surround sound and black rear speaker leads to get all four cables into my laptop?

  • @Grimmdemise18 You'll need a USB sound card with 5.1 channel output. I think Creative Labs makes one.

  • can have this in my xbox to get gamesound in headset ?

  • @TOYSIMOJS No, it only works on PC.

  • Can I use my X11's with an Amigo II to use PSN Chat?

  • @WhoNeedsRambo Yes, the Amigo will let you connect the X11 mic to the PS3 USB port for chat.

  • does it HAVE to use those? i have the z1s n those aren't anywhere in my area. and i can't buy it online

  • @nic0lekA You don't have to use the Amigo or Micro. They're for giving you a certain type of connection if you don't already have it.

  • Would using the amigo 2 to make a stereo headset usb improve the mic sound quality, or does it just effect the sound you hear?

  • @Merkisador If your computer's output and inputs are noisy, it will improve them. If they're clean to begin with, then it's hard to say whether it'll be better. It's for giving you a guaranteed clean connection.

  • What's the pink, green and black wire called? The one that you plug into the Amigo 2 at 2:43

  • @BillZtRoOM That's the wire connected to the headset.

  • Why am I getting all these Turtlebeach (dated) updates in my subscriptions?

  • @aamassy I haven't got a clue. Probably some YouTube setting on your end.

  • I get no sound using my turtlebeach x31 with the amigo II. When i plug my speakers into the amigo II i get sound, but when i plug my headset in, nothing. ??? :(

  • @joeb361 You can't use the X31 as a wired headset. You have to connect its transmitter to the Amigo II.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos

Thanks for the reply. This was working yesterday I forgot to mention, but turned on PC today and nothing.

How can I use the transmitter with the amigo II? Use the transmitter AND Amigo II in my PC in 2 different USB sockets? Or connect one to the other?

  • @joeb361 Correct.

  • Do i need the amigo 2 in order to use my x31's on my pc or am i good with just the adapter cable?

  • @ThePositiveZero You just need the adapter cable.

  • Can i use either the micro or the amigo on my px5's? if so how

  • @xtensagax The Micro will give you an optical connection for them.

  • will this amplify the sound in my headset plugged into a laptop with the sound controls already up to max?

  • @hotneo7 No.

  • Nvm, got it to work.. I had to shut down the PC for some reason and then it worked..

  • @FireDrifter100 Glad you're all set.

  • Hey, i just got my Micro II today and its not working..!

I got it so i can use my X41's and hear Surround Sound, but guess what? I connected the optical cable to the Micro II and the X41's and i dont hear anything at all!

  • Can you buy the 3,5mm wire with pink and green color in a ordinary electronic store?

  • @BillZtRoOM You should be able to. You can also buy them from us.

  • Okey, but do you get the 3,5mm wire with the green and pink colors when you buy Amigo 2 or do I have to but that myself?

  • @BillZtRoOM If you buy the Amigo II with the PC / PS3 chat adapter cable from our site, you get both. If you only buy the Amigo II, you do not.

  • If I buy the Micro 2 can I use my mic with my X41's?

  • @BillZtRoOM The Micro doesn't handle mic channel, it's audio output only.

  • The sound card in my computer is starting to act up. Will this rectify my problem? Or will my headphones still be using my computer's sound card with the micro II?

  • @kgeyedoc The Amigo II will bypass your PC sound card and provide a line output and mic input. The Micro II will provide a line output and SPDIF output.

  • Three questions for the micro 2: 1. Can this passthrough the digital signal from the PC (WITHOUT ALTERING THE SOUND IN ANYWAY) to a high end dac with digital input. 2. Is this asynchronous and can it take advantage of USB 2 speed? 3. What's the maximum stereo signal/bit depth it can pass through digitally? Can it handle 24-bit 192 Khz digital passthroughs? Thanks.

  • @garbulky Forgot to mention. All this is for stereo digital signals especially the last bit.

  • @garbulky 1. The Micro can pass digital audio to an external DAC with a SPDIF input.

    2. It works with USB 2, but it doesn't use the high speed because audio doesn't need it.

    3. No, it can handle 16/44 or 24/48, just like the spdif specification.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. Answered all my questions!

  • So how can I connect my x11's with dss to my ps3, and still be able to chat with 7.1?

  • @gdominguez123 Get a DSS surround sound processor and an Amigo. The DSS gives you 7.1 and the Amigo gives you chat. But it's a lot easier to just buy a DPX21 instead.

  • So how can i know if my pc does? All i know that i dont have Optical output from my sound card

  • @Antiinequity You'll have to contact your PC's manufacturer. Most likely, it doesn't.

  • Guys is it same (creative blaster x-fi surround 5.1) im not asking wich one is better,im asking are the same? Cuz i've heard that Creative is not a True surrond sound so what about yours? thanxx

  • @Antiinequity This is not the same thing at all. This is a USB card that gives you an audio output. These do not have any decoding in them.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos

thanx for fast reply..but (These do not have any decoding in them.) wdu mean? cuz the Creative has USB too

    thanxx

  • @Antiinequity If your PC does not already pass a Dolby signal, these will not make your headset a surround sound headset.

  • Can't I just buy an Optical Mini Adapter on ebay or amazon for like $1.50 instead of paying $25 for the audio advantage micro II if I don't have an optical in port on my motherboard to use my TB dx11 headsets' ear force DSS ?

  • @bddblade We can't vouch for other company's products. I couldn't tell you whether someone else's would work with our products or not.

  • This is so badass. I bought an X41 a while back for Xbox, but don't need it since moving to a house with my own theater room. So instead, I bought the Amigo 2 and a headphone to mic/audio splitter to use it with my PC. Plugged my headset into into the splitter, then into the Amigo and it works great! All I had to do was switch the default sound devices on my PC. Great thing is, I can still leave my speakers plugged in and just swap between the two when needed!

  • Hi, can i use my current analogue 5.1 setup on my win 7 PC, and use the chat at the same time? and also what if i use the digital S/PDIF on my pc for sound on my X41 and chat at the same time? both questions with the amigo device. thanks.

  • @LostMarbles27 Amigo doesn't connect optical. Micro II does. You cannot connect the X41 with analog. If you use the optical out, make sure you have a Dolby Digital output or you'll be hearing stereo. For chat on the X41 on PC, you'll need the PC Chat Adapter Cable.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos hi thank you for your prompt reply, i use the s/pdif digital output on my main board which works, but want i want to know is, if i can use the independent chat control at the same time if i use the chat cable? Will the software handle that? thanks

  • @LostMarbles27 It really depends entirely on your PC's setup and your configuration. You can set it up to behave that way, but how you do so depends on your specific sound card and drivers. I'm sorry, I'm unable to help you figure out how, though.

  • I wish you could make a video game software program someday. =D

  • I heard a voice in the background.

  • In fact I just watched the video again and it says it should work with the setup I have i.e. one end of the optical cable in the receiver and the other end into the micro 2. It doesn't mention needing a dss for 5.1 ch output.

  • @angadhn If your AV receiver has a Dolby 5.1 ch decoder it will also work.

  • Dss*

  • Thanks for the response .im using a receiver though, so shouldn't that be working like the DAD? I just assumed that if I had to get 5.1 output from a game or a movie, connecting my laptop to the receiver using the micro II would be sufficient. Am I wrong?

  • @TurtleBeachVideos does this make it so the turtle beach mic can be used to record audio on my laptop cus I have the xlc

  • @Wanabesam123 Yes, you can use the Amigo to record a microphone on your laptop. For the XLC, you'll need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable.

  • Hi

I got the micro 2 and I downloaded the drivers for it for the digital sound to work. I now have digital sound but only 2 channels work. I have tried many things to setup the 5.1 but it's not even an option on the control panel 'manage sound' options. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • also, I'm using it with my laptop, if it wasnt clear already.

  • @angadhn The analog output will always be 2 channels. The 5.1 is only on digital and it needs to be connected to an external Dolby Digital processor, like our DSS surround sound processor. Also, your laptop has to be set to provide Dolby 5.1 output on the digital signal.

  • hi i have x11 but i got a ps3 so i am selling my xbox so should i sell the x 11 and hope for a x-mas sale or get the amigo ii adapter if it works with the x11

  • @MrMe490 You should get one of our PS3 headsets. They work way better than an X11 and an amigo. For example, they give you separate chat and game volume, but you won't get than on the X11 with an Amigo. You can pick up our P11 headset for the same price as an X11.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos k thx bro real help

  • @TurtleBeachVideos so would u say that p11 are better than x11 ?

  • @MrMe490 P11 is for PS3 and X11 are for XBOX, so you can't compare them.

  • Also forgot to add that I dont have the microphone part. I just want to hear with them.

  • @DustyLeague Yea, if you just want to hear the laptop, then connect the output to the X41 transmitter.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos I said Turtle beach x4, not x41 :(

  • Hi. I have a Turtle Beach X4. I was wondering if there is any type of adapter I can use to connect the Wireless Receiver to my laptop so I can use this as headphones?

  • @DustyLeague Not really. The headset is made to work with the transmitter, so you can connect the transmitter to your laptop to hear the sound, but the mic won't work. You can use our PS3/PC adapter cable to connect the chat to your laptop, but then the laptop sound will be in mono and not stereo.

  • I have an Ear Force Z2. Can I buy the Amigo II and turn it into a headset capable of PSN chat? Thanks.

  • @calvins48 Yes you can!

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Wow, quick reply! Thanks! I'll buy the Amigo II soon then. :)

  • Had known this earlier, I wouldn't have purchased the P11s, but would have just picked up the Amigo II to use my X11s on my PS3. Oh well, better to find this out now than later. Thanks for the video!

  • @Kenoji8 The P11 is much better than an X11 + Amigo on a PS3 because it has separate chat and game volume controls. With the X11 combo, you have no control over the chat level because it's mixed with the game sound. So the chat volume on the X11 doesn't work on a PS3 when used with an Amigo. All the Amigo does is connect the mic to the PS3 USB input. Chat comes out of the game port along with game sound.

  • Does these work for Xbox 360 slim? for ingame sound as well as xbox live chatt sound?

  • @mordoax No they do not.

  • Comment removed

  • I need True 5.1 Digital TOSLINK connection..will I get true 5.1 if I use Micro II or is it Virtual 5.1?

  • @MohammaDanish The Micro just passes the stream from your motherboard. If your mobo sends Dolby Digital Live, then it's 5.1.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Your awesome..my mobo supports true 5.1 but my SPDIF port had gone bad on me..so I guess this is the perfect solution..thanks for the response, love you guys !

  • @MohammaDanish My pleasure! Glad to be of service.

  • Right now, I'm using an analog headset with my PC(pink and green connectors), which doesn't allow me to hear ONLY Vent through the headset, and the game audio through my speakers, which I know can be done with a USB headset; if I use the Amigo II USB and connect it to my headset, would I be able to do this? I hope that makes sense :) cheers.

  • @poizondragon Yes, the Amigo will turn your analog headset into a full USB headset. Then you can send the game to your speakers and chat on Ventrillo with the headset.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos thanks for the response!

  • does anyone know if either of these would allow x31s work on a pc/laptop just sound?

  • @Nbloods You can connect an X31 to a laptop/PC by connecting the sound card output to the X31 transmitter with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. This lets you hear the laptop sound on the X31 wireless headset. To hook up the X31 mic, you'll need our PS3/PC adapter cable. For details, check out the video on our YouTube channel.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos thanks for the info.

  • does it work if you plug it into your ps3?

  • @Wolfftastic It works for PSN chat, but not game sound.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos thanks

  • I'm thinking about picking up some PX5's and I want to use it for both PC and PS3, is the micro limited to 5.1 or can it do 7.1 as well?

  • @misterfuzzykins The Micro outputs whatever your system allows. If your PC is set up to output DDL then it will output 7.1.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos So, I make those changes through my sound card software? I'm just a tad confused because I'm outputting the audio through the Micro instead of my sound card, right? Would I just go to say, Realtek HD Audio Manager, and change it to 7.1 output?

  • @misterfuzzykins You need to make sure that your computer is able to output DDL. If it's not equipped to do that, it will not output a Dolby encoded stream to the Micro. The Micro does not have DDL encoding on board. You may need to check with your PC's manufacturer to find out whether it is capable of outputting a Dolby stream.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Under the audio output of my computer specs it says "8 Speaker Surround Configurable". I've got 5.1 surround sound speakers hooked up that work correctly with games like Oblivion as well. Does that mean anything? PS sorry I'm such a noob, I've never really dabbled in the realm of computer audio before haha

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Sorry, just did some reading and that last post was pointless and didn't help at all. I have the option to output Dolby Digital, DTS Audio, and Microsoft WMA Pro Audio. Is Dolby Digital the same thing as DDL?

  • @misterfuzzykins Yes, Dolby Digital is what you want. DDL = Dolby Digital Live

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Oh okay thanks so much for being so patient with me ahaha. Definitely will be picking up some PX5's in the very near future! :)

  • i love the xlc and have 1 and only ps3

  • @ThePlaystation313 It's not going to work on PS3 like that. Just plug your PS3 into your TV and plug the XLC into the TV headset jack. Then you'll hear the game sound on the XLC. But you can't get the PS3 mic to work with the XLC, because it's not a PS3 headset. You'll need a P11 or PX21 for the PS3.

  • wil this work for xlc if not is there any other way

  • @ThePlaystation313 Why do you want to use this with an XLC?

  • Will the Mini optical Work with PX5's?

  • @Brokenmirors Yes, the MICRO II will work on the PX5. But keep in mind that not all games will transmit in Dolby 5.1 over optical. In many games, you'll only be able to hear stereo even though you have an optical connection.

  • Comment removed

  • @TurtleBeachVideos I want to buy one of these two but I don't know which one to get for my ps3 all I want is to listen to the gamplay on my headphone. my headphone only have a 3.5 mm jack for audio and no mic

  • @TheDC805 Get the Amigo II.

  • hi Matt .. my Question is .. i want to buy a Surround headset from TurtleBeach .. and most/all surround headset have the digital output .. and i don't want to plug the digital output in the back of the PS3 because i'm afraid that the wire may get cut or damaged .. so i should use the Micro II right ? but will it provide the same Quality or what ?

  • @crimnoist I do not believe that the PS3 passes a Dolby signal over USB. You should just connect it to the back of your PS3 and secure the area around the console so that it doesn't get damaged.

  • @GetJabbified I don't understand your question. What are you trying to do?

  • What will I need to get this to work with my X11's on PS3? Just the adaptor, or something extra? I want to be able to hear the TV, while being able to communicate with my team(black ops)

  • @Spiziked23 You'll need the Amigo II.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Thanks!, Also will I have to buy the 2.5mm to 3.5mm splitter cable, or is that not needed?

  • @Spiziked23 It is not included.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos lol, I know its not included. But do I have to buy it as in is it needed for the setup?

  • @Spiziked23 Yes you'll have to buy that cable.

  • @TurtleBeachVideos Holy fucking fuck. Why didnt you say that in the beggining. Now I have to buy a cord, after I already bought the AMigo 2. Wow. I dont even know what that cord is

  • @Spiziked23 The 2.5mm adapter cable will let you connect the mic and chat from the Amigo to the X11 XBOX live chat jack, so you'll have separate controls for game and chat. If you don't buy this cable, you can plug the X11 mic into the Amigo mic jack, which lets you use the X11 mic on the PS3. However, if you do this you'll have chat and game both on the game volume control. It will work, but is a bit more clumsy than the separate cable solution.

  • Hey I just bought this for my ps3 for my x11s when im changing the settings and i make the output device system default does this mean i have to control the chat by the game volume so the chat volume wont work

  • @Xixbox That's correct. The chat is mixed in with the game, so you cant control them separately on the X11 amplifier. You have to set the chat volume on the PS3 setup screen.
