  • nice rack with all your shit on top like your going on a kangaroo hunt.

  • I'm so jealous. I want a bus like that!

  • Where's the snow?

  • Great stuff. My UK 67 been all over the place. Round Europe three times, up mountains, dirt tracks, off road, forded rivers, ploughed through snow and so on. Been on the road continuously until about 4 yrs ago (bought it in 87) and have now begun properly restoring it - removing botched patchwork welding and home made upgrades meant to keep it running and correctly repairing and replacing bits. Still have most original components. looking forward to sitting behind the wheel again.

  • so what?.....a bus off road...what's the point here?

  • only 2wd van that is good at offroad ;)

    just like it's beetle cousin.

  • man thats some funny shit, roflmao.

  • I was sooooo go camping if I had a bus like that!! I'd go deep into the woods and enjoy :)

  • fucking prime, nothing beats the original split screen look

  • hang on...my '62 bus doesn't even have seatbelts

  • haha thats awesome.

Atleast your not garaging your car and keeping it from seeing the light of day.

Props for using your Car like its suppose to be!

  • I have a T2 bay window been over the lake district in the UK a few times in it, the flat four engine can tackle off road as god as a Land Rover

  • It's a good camping car for conditions like 0:26 to 0:29. Nothing more than that kind of dirt road. If you want to use more extreme road, use a Bronco.

  • damn you stupid idiots..

dont ruin a car like that...

  • wow its people like you that makes youtube FUN lol

  • Lucky it didn't tip. I could smell the burning clutch from here

  • Hahaha!! X-D This one has a full length roofrack with flotsam attatched! Now there's top heavy, and then there's top heavy!

  • Beetles are good as trials vehicles. So no reason wy not the van. Engine over the rear wheels makes for excellent traction!

  • You are right Wordreet, having the engine over the rear axle is good.

However, the bus is also quite top heavy, so it's does have some drawbacks.

That said, it still amases me how much they go trough.

And if you thought the old van here is good in terrain, then look up the VW Synco.

    It's bloody amazing.

  • My relatives down in Mexico use the old VW vans as ranch vehicles and for excursions into the mountains. My jeep or NIssan pick-up can handle more extreme terrain but those vans are damn tough and can go more places than you would believe. I would love to have one for camping trips.

  • A bunch of friends and I are gonna buy a VW bus and go on a road trip...on road of course but it's gonna be SO much fun.

  • That is a Type 2, not a Type 1.

  • xD

Sry but my grandma can see that that is a T1 Bus!

  • A Type 1 is the proper name for a Beetle. My grandma can see that it's a camper van and not a car.

  • T1 means Transporter 1. Its like T2,T3... till the T5, the newest Transporter.

I know Type one is a bug but there stand "VW t1" ;)

  • I see what you mean. Transporter 1, not Type 1. So it's like a T2 and a T1 at the same time?

    That's really weird.

  • why dont u ask your parents the car is only from the 60's

  • No need. I'm right.

  • wasnt the 60th at Hanover good I could not go i just Wonderd what you got if you had registerd at the gate

  • Oh and Devhis, you might want to get off of here. I think your mom is calling you to dinner.

  • This is just awesome! I just bought my first bus project after years of driving beetles. This video makes me even more anxious to get it on the road (or off of it, as the case may be) ;)

  • this is prof that vw buses rock and never die!!!

  • Dude! That's Hippie Tim! Righteous!

  • It's like that scene on LOST.

  • got to say the 1965 to 1984 Austrlian ford transit are better, with a stock 4.1 motor

  • VW Buses are the best vans to ever exist

  • @fordmad64

    You mean ENGLISH ford transits?

  • It's not wrong to love a car, it's just how you show that love.

  • devhis...search something else if all your gonna do is slam Buses....

Hey Schmobuger.....we miss you! were ya been?

  • Is that Gus the Bus on Ebay???

  • Very good video

I wish to have one beside my beetle ;)

  • Drewan, devhis should try it with his car after 50 years.... i will bet that his car will be your soda can in 10 years.

And devhis i wanna see u run up and down that hill when your 50 years old.

If u dont like the video dont bother making those shitty comments.

  • keep on trying with those ps2 games, when you buy a real car let us know an post a video, until that please don't comment anything, you suck

  • Yep,I bet its a kick butt 1970 Dodge Challenger with a supercharger but rather than it being made out of metal its made out of air allowing it to get an amazing MPG and avoid all collisions!

  • devhis, if I ever meet you, i am going to dump you in the water.

  • go-karts don't count

  • Hey devhis, how about I dump your face in some water and keep it there until you stop breathing? Volkswagen Busses are the most kick-ass vehicle ever to exist. I have one (a 1972 Kombi standard) with 533,467 miles on it, and all I need to do now is replace the blown motor, a job that requires about 400 bucks (for the purchase of the engine) and a few hours to get it in and running. Plus, for 2WD it champs it better offroad than any 2WD Blazer or Jimmy I've ever driven. Go play with your toys now

  • Awesome! What size motor do you have in that bus?

  • I would if I had one... I do it with my baywindow...albeit with dust, mud and creeks instead of snow being Australia. :D

  • Well, I guess I would never do that with my T1.
