You brought the rock every time. Saw you in Whitewater, Janesville, Milwaukee, Madison and half a dozen other places in between. Thanks for the effort.
as it turns out we were there anyway, the show was a usual rockin' ass elvis brothers event and the opening act that did play didn't match nearly as well as i always thought we would have been a good opener since we were into rockabilly, dave edmunds, the flamin' groovies and the like. i'll always remember this as the big one that got away, so to speak. we were total elvis zombies even from the beginning. i think the first time i saw them was at sullys liitle place in the heights. best band ever
kevin hein and i drove down from peoria for this show. sometime around this time frame we had a peoria band called dr. boogie. jim ray approached our guitar player at the time and asked if we would open for the elvis brothers at the distillary. said guitar player declined because he said it wasn't enough money! he is very lucky he is still alive today. he is very lucky he is still alive today. we would have paid to do that show.
I LOVED these guys when I was in college!! I saw them twice at Purdue...once when they opened for George Carlin, I think, and the second time at the Stabilizer bar. Even had pictures taken with them, which I still have. Wow, what memories!!!
Hey Graham...I got to meet you guys as our station was introducing the acts one night when you were on stage at Mississippi Nights a long time ago in St. Louis. I recall playing several tracks off your album on KCFV...you all rocked. Thanks for sharing these.
I saw the Elvis Brothers Way back when... I believe it was quarter beer night @ Fitzgerald's Pub in Elmhurst<, Illinois. I know I was under aged at he time. I saw them on MTV (Fire in the City). Geat tune, great album. I have yet to see them again. But I hve supported them by purchasing thier albums. Good tunes, good times.
ok I remember seeing Elvis Brothers at Mabel's and having to run out the back when the cops came because I was like 12. Graham, I was at a bus stop in Urbana one time and you walked up to me and held out your hand which was full of candy. So great. I also remember contributing to your cadillac (sp?)fund all the time. You were and probably still are HILARIOUS. Thank you for posting this stuff it is awesome. Keiran Brandabur
